Finally! The BMW M1 Procar is in Forza! There's some other random nonsense in there about demos and tracks and cars, but it all pales in comparison to news of that sweet sweet machine.
I will reluctantly accept this car in lieu of my personal Mazda 2 being in the game.

Why are different liveried but otherwise identical racing cars still different cars in the game? If nothing else the various official liveries could be "Turn 10 Selected" liveries that appear at the front of the list when you are purchasing the car or searching for paint jobs.

I think quite often they don't use the same livery system as users can - certainly some of the special edition cars in FM5 use materials and combinations not available to users.
Licensing, how does it work?

Demo is appreciated, still on the fence about going digital for early access. I like having a box.
Yeah, when it comes to forza i would like a physical case, but at the same time i want the ultimate edition.

Indeed, they're presumably UV-mapped textures done in Photoshop (etc). Since everyone has the game/car-pack installed, there is no need to ship the liveries around in multiplayer, which the user-facing livery editor allows them to do quite easily since they're stored as vectors and each person's console bakes a texture out of them.
So, if you were to put 'official' liveries in with custom ones, the texture would already be installed (just as it is today).
It was a rhetorical why. I don't have to like the decisions/compromises that were made even if I appreciate the reasons behind them. Is NeoGAF not a place for tilting at windmills?

Eh, all the cars are already in the normal game. These are just special tuned or painted cars. So its not that big of a deal really, not like it has been before.

I want to get this game just not sure where to pre order from..I have GCU so I can get it at Best buy, or buy it from amazon and maybe get the prime savings..but as far as the pre order bonuses are concerned someone told me that all of the cars will be eventually included so not sure if that is true or not

It's been known for a while. Though they say they'll talk about Porsche later. The general assumption from many of us here is that EA want a clear run of Porsche exclusivity for the new Need for Speed, and we'll get Porsche FM6 DLC later.

Microsoft has (or had?) the Ferrari license but they aren't (weren't?) picky about letting others use it.

I believe Raceroom now hold the DTM License and its a very strict one. PCars was planning on including DTM but had to scrap it due to their licensing deal. I assume thats why we wont be seeing that M3 DTM returning

I haven't ever tried but at worst all you have to do is contact support and have them refund the preorder and apply it to the deluxe edition.
