So, who's buying Mad Max next week?

Which is why I said it's a bit of a stretch. But yeah, you're right, there isn't a specific continuity and it's all very loose. I just like the idea of Toecutter being "reincarnated" into Immortan Joe as it really puts a bigger meaning as to why Nux is so confident in saying, "I live, I die, I live again." If anything it's just my simple interpretation.

I thought that was such a cool fan theory when I read that.

Huh, interesting theory. I kinda like it, even though, yeah, like most Mad Max continuity theories, it really doesn't make sense, but it's a fun way to interpret weird connections like that.

Seeing how every movie since the Road Warrior has framed Max's story as being a tale told by someone else, it's easiest just to imagine each film being a reimagining of the legend of this one lone wanderer of the wasteland - kinda like a post-apocalyptic Robin Hood, where the oral legend has been warped so much over the years that a lot of the characters and continuity really don't match up, but it's the guts of the stories that matter more than the window dressing.

I really like this idea too. Speaking of which, does the game have a quasi-narrator intro like the movies? I don't want to watch the intro yet, but I am curious on what similarities there are to the movies. Anyone know of known connections/similarities?

Thanks!

I joke though, I really don't mind the sacrifices we're both having to make. It will be worth it in the end. Just trying to cram in as many games I can before the inevitable decline in my gaming time. Thankfully my wife is pretty understanding lol.

I've 4 kids and always find time to game. Nowadays I just do it when all kids are in bed. I could have 4 hours a night if I wanted. I tend to mix it up with tv shows :)

Currently playing Phantom Pain, I'll grab Until Dawn when i find it on offer somewhere and this? Well i'm REALLY curious to see how it reviews...Some of the technical shortcomings are really putting me off.

What technical shortcomings? A few pop in issues/slowdown in certain areas? That's the only thing I've heard.

I would have, it looks wonderful. Fall's sadly going to be much tighter this year thanks to a cross country move in the works. Before the year ends if impressions are good enough, for sure.

After finally sitting down and and looking at a gameplay overview (media blackout since they announced it), damn it looks good.

Too much coming out so soon.

So glad I was right about this game, it's really great so far. And seems pretty vast! The shadow of mordor of 2015, sleeper hit.

Also I've just gotten to the bit
where your initial base gets destroyed, was the dog lost in there ( :( )?

about your spoiler -
he survived and you will rescue him in wasteland mission

Really hope the end game features a massive Fury Road style car chase, that would be an awesome way to finish the game, if it doesn't they missed a trick with that.

Yeah mate, i find it incredibly distracting and very aggressive. I am a bit on the fence this issue aside, and of course now i'm playing PP the short term desire is diminished further.

Hell yeah, the cars were so damn crazy in FR, reminded me of Whacky Races when I watched and it made those chase scenes so fun to watch.

Yeah it really was a quality movie, one of my top 5 movies for 2015 easily. Hopefully the game captures some of that craziness, a good Max Mad game and Fury Road in the same year would be brilliant, and it seems the game is good from people who already got it.

Damn... Kinda wanna cancel pre-order now.

After AC Unity and FC4 I'm pretty much burn out from Ubisoft open world games.

It is like a Ubi game but there are enough unique touches that make up for it such as having to collect water, food to stay alive and collect fuel to keep the Opus running. Having a slick physical AND car combat system makes it more interesting than many open world games for me too.

This game is just great fun IMO, it won't advance the medium or do anything groundbreaking though. The fact there is no nemesis system or something considered 'next gen' makes me think it won't review as well as Mordor.

Caved in and bought it cheap on PC. I still won't play it much immediately (like everyone else... MGSV time), but $25AU would've been my entry point anyway.

So can you actually, you know, build the Interceptor or does every car have to be a souped up spiked insanity machine?

Any info on side missions or activities?

I wonder if the game just ends, or you could continue on after finishing it, and, if there is anything to do after that.

September is usually quiet for big releases, in any other year I'd seriously consider getting it. I don't think Avalance have made a bad game yet.

But this year it's absolutely stacked, I just don't have the cash. I hate to be the one to say "wait for Steamsale" especially for an unreleased game, but sadly that's what I'm planning on doing.

I can see how you game with kids but what does your wife girlfriend make of it? Doesn't she want time with you too? It's the balancing that's the issue for me.

Still hyped for MM though!

Has there been discussion of the fact that they aren't sending out pre-release review copies. Worrying sign.

Game looks OK to me, but I'm not giving it a second glance til I'm done with MGS5.

Edit: Apparently only for the Xbox One/PC versions, there are prerelease review copies of the PS4 version.

Having such slick on foot and car mechanics is what makes it so appealing. It looks like a far more brutal Batman, with car mechanics that are actually meaningful and fun. Which is something I cannot say for the dreadful and shoehorned in Batmobie. Plus, I damn sure like the setting, survival aspects and atmosphere more.
