Dragon's Dogma Online launch trailer

Complain to Capcom very very loudly and it might.

lol thats not going to change things, due to the amount of costs / upkeep that go into running an online game which is far beyond just "localizing" a title.

Its the same reason why PSO2 has not come out in the West.

Just tried the game launcher on PC, and it's unbelievable how slowly it loads. It actually feels like a PS3/4 app being emulated on PC or something insane like that.

Yeah apparently they're already doing cross-promotion type stuff for Japanese advertisers? That's one (of many reasons, I'm sure) PSO hasn't been brought over right?

In any case, there's already a English fan-translation team planning to work on it. They released a (small) patch during the second beta and another (I think, might be the same) crafting a guide. Personally, I'm okay with that.

Yeah there would be that too, but for the most part I think its just Sega or Capcom here for this game does not want to eat the costs themselves with running everything. Where as in SE Asia do believe it is another company doing that which is partnered up with Sega.

This company.

Had a convo about these sort of situations with someone that was former NCSOFT and basically thats the largest reason he says these days is the cost involved with the setup / upkeep of online MMOs and such.

Would not be surprised if that was the case...

Reminds me of back in the days with how MHF handled save data was similar to how the PS2 would handle save data with online play, which caused data to be lost on occasion when the "process" got interrupted online. Good times. But that was like when MHF first came out. lol

I really want this game to come to the west. Come on, Capcom, if you can't do it on your own, partner up with Sony. Scrap the PS3 Version if you have to.

Considering the following happened this year, what does this say about Sony considering the "Online Gaming" market profitable?

Dear Players, Partners and Friends,

Today, we are pleased to announce that we have been acquired by Columbus Nova, an investment management firm well known for its success with its existing portfolio of technology, media and entertainment focused companies. This means that effective immediately SOE will operate as an independent game development studio where we will continue to focus on creating exceptional online games for players around the world, and now as a multi-platform gaming company. Yes, that means PlayStation and Xbox, mobile and more!

As part of this transition, SOE will now become Daybreak Game Company. This name embodies who we are as an organization, and is a nod to the passion and dedication of our employees and players. It is also representative of our vision to approach each new day as an opportunity to move gaming forward.

So what exactly does this mean for you? It will be business as usual and all SOE games will continue on their current path of development and operation. In fact, we expect to have even more resources available to us as a result of this acquisition. It also means new exciting developments for our existing IP and games as we can now fully embrace the multi-platform world we are living in.

Our games and players are the heart and soul of our organization, and we are committed to maintaining our portfolio of online games and pushing the limits of where we can take online gaming together.

Thank you for your continued support. See you in game!

The characters seem to be looking/holding pretty well visually. The environment though... :/

It's a shame they decided to make it work on PS3 and then ported it to PS4 and PC. :S

Not very new, but apparently the artbook teased a new class that doesn't look similar to any previous class. If it's a monkish/magic hand-to-hand class, I'm all for it.

Edit: class was shown at the end of the trailer already. ignore me.

I look forward to never being able to play this and there being no future entries into the Dragon's Dogma series.

Basically PSO2-2. Let's hope Deep Down is the same!

Need this yesterday!! Looks soo good. F2p isn't bad when handled well.

Climbing monsters is handled a bit differently, aside from that it feels pretty much like the original DDO. Movement might feel a bit different because of the online nature of the game, but that's about it.

Out of curiosity did you enjoy playing the first one? Since you said it's not so fun alone but then say it's very similar to the first.

Then again who plays mmos alone?

So how does the ip block works in this game?
Do I need to use vpn all the time while playing or can I just bypass the login then cut the vpn after that?
Playing with vpn will be laggy, but I'll definitely try it if it's login bypass only.

I assume no way of playing it on an american PSN? No way to download it on a Japanese PSN and then switch PSN?

Or I forgot, is it like PS3 where you can switch profiles with another PSN.

Downloaded the launcher an got a VPN. I am so fucking Ready, if the pay to win stuff isn't too bad then this has potential of being my game of the year.

One time I started it and it gave me a message about maintenance going on that will be over at 14:00 on 8/26.

Honestly, the launcher seems to download sooo much data every time it loads. Seems super wasteful.

I'm just gonna try again in the morning. My launcher keeps wigging out and goes into a weird web browser where the login info should be. Never did that in Beta #2.
