I've been excited for this demo for a while, but damn, I hate assists. No assists, clutch ftw.

Do they really? I feel like you'd be able to get way faster laps without them. Can't drivers insist to have them off?

I hate it in my car when traction control comes on when I'm trying to have fun, even when I turn esp off on the dash it still likes to correct you. Its just screaming NO FUN ALLOWED at me all the time. Then when I go round a roundabout at 20mph in the wet, the backend flies out without warning and I nearly shit my pants. Those RL 3d puddles. Can't win.
 
Demo hits and it was, what, 2 minutes until the Driveclub comparisons start?

Driveclub - 60 Cars
Project CARS - 100 Cars
Forza 6 - 460 Cars

There's a comparison, Forza 6 has 400% MORE graphics than the nearest competitor.

See how stupid these comparisons are?
 
Mine is still downloading.. but AA is still crap like FM5? Damn, that was my only complaint.. Hope it's better in the full / final version? Or is this wishfull thinking?

I mean, I get it with certain classes it's (almost) necessary (LMP, etc.), but I seriously don't want to drive with TCS, ABS on a street legal car.

struggling to finish in the top 3 in lime rock, its definitely difficult to go up 8 places in 3 laps. i was hoping to not have to reduce drivatar difficulty as i wanted to get the mos out the demo.

anyone managed it on unbeatable yet?

As far as I know its never been on Amazon. I think it is a microsoft store exclusive.

Edit: The controller I mean. The console is available on Amazon as I have it on preorder.

I put the drivatars on semi pro, still a nasty grouping in turn 1 but generally they seem to respect you more and that was with aggression still on.

the install went upto 50% and it's just keeled over now, but it does at least allow you to race Lime Rock and restart it.

Crowd on Rio are the kind who look 3D, but they are flat and moving the camera makes them face you.

Many cars are designed with these assists in mind.

Where do you think ABS, traction control, stability control, active suspension, semi-auto gears etc. came from? Racing.

There is nothing wrong with assists, many exist for safety purposes, or as the only way of getting very high HP down on the road. Racing drivers still put their lives on the line in hugely powerful cars few of us could keep on the road.
 
Certainly feels like more grip, especially with the Sebring final turn even in the rain.

Rewinding also removes the misty atmosphere filter until it fades back in a few seconds later.

Things like active suspension and semi-auto gears is fair enough, but if a computer can control the car to get the most out of it, so can the human driving it. My personal view anyway.

I wouldn't even want power steering, the amount of feedback you loose is ridiculous.
 
So instead of T10 letting us run qualifying laps to improve grid position, that give you a mod that you can use to improve it before a race. Better than nothing, I guess. lol

The sound design in third-person cam is soooo good. Props to the audio team. Wish I could roll the windows down in cockpit view because it sounds great on my system.

Time for a night race. Woooo

I never had an option to restart the race when I tried it, it would keep me in a loop of menu screens asking me to buy now or continue (which would tell me to wait for an install and return me to the post-race menu)
 
I've loved every Forza and maybe it's just me, but that was really underwhelming. I could be remembering wrong but I thought the previous game looked better. This had a very arcade game look, with bright colors and low detail. The buildings in the opening level looked terrible. Hype deflating.

I've just achieved something I've not managed in a Forza game before.

I came 21st in a race. :)

Was doing the Lime Rock race and I binned it on the last corner, spun right round and got t-boned. Good fun. And at least I didn't come last.
 
Man, the collision noise and feeling between cars is terrible.

And don't pick the RX7!!

And I don't like this gens fascination with minute fonts in UI's
 
The only thing I don't like about the demo is that I can't hear my engine over the music. The first thing I'll do when I get the full version is turn the music off.

That and I really dislike the Rio track. Sorry
 
Still downloading, so i only raced Rio and Lime Rock.
Graphics wise not super impressed comparing to FM5.. pretty much the same. Maybe the AA is slightly better but still visible.

Maybe i'm spoiled since the last couple of months now I have a proper game PC with Logitech G27 with all the great racing games (Assetto Corsa, Project Cars, iRacing) .. I think I will still buy FM6 because for me it's the only real racer on Xbox One but I wish the leap compared to FM5 was bigger..

On the second demo track now, the daytime one.

So many tyre walls which explode when hit, it's great to see all the tyres fly everywhere and cover the track after an accident.
 
I don't think there's quicksand in the grass anymore to prevent corner cutting. I certainly didn't notice any. Going into the grass in the rain is something else though lol. It takes forever to get moving.
 
The rain effects running at 30fps look really jarring. I love the actual effects themselves, but watching such a prominent effect operate at half the framerate of the game looks really awkward :/
 
Great job on the rain, T10! I hated racing in the rain in a certain other game, but it's fun and looks great here. Rain and night racing make the game look better. Still need to work on the aliasing.

Great audio on the rain, too!
