First of all,
I'm loving this game way too much.
But I think i may be screwed. I bought and played the disc version of GZ, but i dont have the disc anymore. So i cant upload my save without being able to play GZ? I dont want to buy it again just to transfer my file. Is there no other way to get my GZ file over to TPP?

Same here holy crap, I thought it was just me. I tend to get motion sickness with certain FPS games but never had the problem with any of the 3D MGS's. The prologue camera shake/closeness was terrible for me, had to turn it off after. I hope that's not the case for the rest of the game.

You can turn off camera shake in options....

Sneaking suit from GZ looks goat in the updated lighting of TPP. But yes... i have been trying different suits. All of them look so good.

Wish I could change outfits in the field, but I guess that might make the game too easy.

Yes, I'm pining for a camo index.

And animals that I can eat.

(God I loved MGS3's survival system.)

Caught quiet having some rainbow fun.

I've played over 10 hours of the game, completed 5 episodes and a bunch of side ops, and I still don't have DD. People keep mentioning how he was right there at the start of some mission or whatever, barking, but that never happened to me. Is this normal?! Should I be worried? :(

At this point not sure if he will appear but try going back to the first Side Op. He was at the start of that for me. You should hear a bark.

I got him near the beginning of a side op where I had to
Find the RIOT blueprints)

I did it at night and couldn't see him so I just looked around with my binoculars until it tagged him.

Most people I talk to, including coworkers and several people in this thread, saw him at the beginning of the Side Op to capture the Russian interpreter. Maybe try to load up that mission again and see if he's there? Can't hurt to try.

He was right at the start of the second mission (side op or main op? not sure exactly) for me, after I retried it once. I was just running around the landing zone picking up plants, and then all of a sudden I hear a puppy barking and Kaz talks about him being there. He's really tiny, so you have to be careful and look for him.

Either way, he shows up early.

There's a specific drop point you have to choose. I can't remember which one though.

You can always change suits during a mission. Just make the request for delivery from your iDroid. They will deliver what you need on the spot.

You can also get things delivered
to knock people out if you have them fall on someone
. lol.

Played MGS1 & 2 years ago when they were released, thought they were just okay. Couldn't be bothered to get past the first area in 3. Never played 4.

COMPLETELY Sold on 5.

I really didn't like 3 either actually. 1 and 2 were great games but the camera was largely isometric. When 3 came out it broke the formula in ways I wasn't comfortable with.

The fact the camera was freely controlled seemed like a great idea but it resulted in me constantly getting spotted by off screen enemies. 4 felt like yet another minor change to the formula. But V is an entirely different beast.

Yet in a strange sense, it almost feels like this is what MGS3 wanted to be from a stealth perspective. I can't really out my finger on why, maybe it's just the bosses presence. But the way the gameplay feels like something Kojima has been trying to nail for a while.

I found him on the way to a side op just running through Afgh so it's not always as simple as "he's right there." Still I found him pretty early.

This is when I found him as well. Landed at closest LZ to the side op and he was there as I hoofed towards it.

I definitely don't remember any barking and Miller telling me anything about a dog. It seems there's some sort of random element to it too, since different people encounter him in different missions. Ugh. I want my doggie...

Need help with a certain sniper
Quiet
.

Is there any way to do this easily without the
tranq sniper rifle
? Don't have the R&D or Med Bay levels for it even if I rearrange my staff (and I would have to do so AGAIN if I die because YAY NO AUTOSAVE) so it's a bit ridiculous running back and forth getting one shot off from the pistol at a time before
she goes invisible and moves
. Getting extremely frustrated. Any ideas would be great.

And then you'll howl in pain once you realize that you can't pet or feed your puppy at mother base.

He's still super cute though.

Been playing this game so far on pc

It's been a long time again since I played an MGS game but I am amazed I am doing these missions so calmly and patient

getting S ranks except for the first mission lol

Just as a test, I started a mission I'd already finished before, did one minor side task in it, selected 'abort mission' on the pause screen immediately and it has checked off the task on the mission list in the ACC.

Looks like you don't have to complete the mission to have the tasks count, in case this matters to anyone.

Go to free roam and pick the dropzone directly north of Spugmay Keep, it's on the south section of the map. He should be right in there.

I can see a lot of new comers (which i am sure there are due to the hype) being so confused at the story lol and not get any references to the old games. I would definitely recommend looking up some videos of old games or better yet play them first. Those are amazing games and MGSV should not be even attempted for a playthrough if you have no knowledge of the games lore.

For me I found him right at the beginning of
C2W
. I just looked around after getting out of the helicopter and he was running right up to me. Did you try replaying that mission?

I had a guy message me last night about getting the game due to its super high ratings. He'd never played a Metal Gear game before, so I suggested he start with MGS1.

If you're trying to beat her by reducing her stamina, you could mark her with your binoculars (have to be quick, or flank her so she doesn't see you doing it) that way she shows up on your map, so you can drop supply crates on her head.

I'm pretty sure you can defeat her with a normal gun/sniper rifle, and once the fight is finished, that's when you choose whether to let her live or not (dont pull the trigger during the scripted bit).

Just a tip for those who are going into the
Quiet
fight without a Tranq Sniper.

You can fulton boxes on top of her head and take her out with two boxes. Locate her position, mark her with your scope and then mark your fulton drop on her. Just be sure that she sees you every now and then until the fulton drops or else she can run off.

You waste zero bullets and it doesn't kill her.

Is there an upgrade for permanent battery?

Hoping so :P

No idea, mine has two uses and then you need to call in an ammo drop. I'm pretty sure you can upgrade it in R&D to last longer but not 100% on that. I've only looked briefly at the unlock graph.
