It got me quite a few times before I realized that it's just a straight up miss on the voice acting in this bit. It's supposed to be like "You're going to extract him?!" but it just doesn't come out that way. He doesn't emphasize the "Him" strongly enough, so it just comes out confusing.

He probably cut communications before he went. "Oh, lord, Boss has lost his mind. This guy is a troublemaker! Now Boss will dismiss him in two weeks when he finally looks at our profile for the guy. ... Dammit."

on PC this morning it was working great. no slow down or waiting, except when going to the motherbase tab. That takes a few seconds to load. But map and missions, tapes and all that jazz is almost instantaneous.

It all depends how badly the servers are getting slammed. When people are at school or work, they're ... mostly okay. But that shit starts letting out, it all goes to hell.

If your idroid is taking a while load it's because of online servers. Try switching to offline

I wasn't convinced at first of tapes being a worthy replacement to the codec but it works better than I expected.

I think it's kinda bullshit you can't pause without fumbling with the iDroid though, Miller doesn't know when to shut the fuck up when I'm out doing missions.

Legacy is fine to play any time. Its like people from the industry and from the games talking about MGS overall. what it has done, what it has been like, and how much they appreciate it.

Technically no, but if you have experience with MGS and pay attention, then yeah there are major spoilers, but even then without context it's just confusing and you''ll want to play to figure out how certain things even occurred to begin with.

Once the servers are more stable and you have an FOB, then it might be ok to be online.

On PC i've had no real server issues tho. 2 DC in the last couple of days, but when i go try to reconnect it always does without incident.

Yeah, I wouldn't dream of listening to tapes anywhere near the enemy. It's rare that I've done any while out in the field at all, even. Mostly it's on the chopper or at Mother Base, which I'm fine with.

That might be part of it. Early on it's hard to avoid just wanting the slots filled, which means lots of E-rankers.

I don't know about you guys saying the voice direction is great, personally I think Kiefer since Ground Zeroes got worse.

Everytime I grab a soldier (that's 85% of the way I deal with them) and he says "spit it out!" and "where are your friends?" I just laugh because of how goofy it sounds. Everyone complains about Hayter but honestly half the things Kiefer say just sound so hilarious.

I'm not sure how I feel about this game yet. MGS is my favorite series and I'm on mission like 4 or 5? Gameplay is fun but I feel like Afghanistan is gonna get old real quick. That, and the story seems kind of boring. The intro was good, though.
