Also, once you ACTUALLY DO get a chance to infiltrate a FOB among the mess of invalid options listed, you'll be midway or almost through the whole place when "A RIVAL APPROACHES!" floods the screen and respawns you back down where you started.

Yo, quick question: which mission unlocks the med team/bay? I wanna get that thing and I have some unhealthy dudes that could use fixin'.

Someone mentioned a while back about how there's a shortcut to going straight to the ACC without calling in a chopper. How do you go about doing that?

You can always air drop more suppressors.

or, we can figure out how to get better suppressors?

It clearly shows the base ones have 1/3 of the bar full, but I havent seen any mention of upgrading them. Is there a suppressor specialist or something?

Get a suppression specialist. I don't think they're available until chapter 2 though, so mission
40-odd.

Thanks! atleast I know its a thing now, now I grind..

I'm probably 20% through the story and
Miller is coming off like a total fuck boy. I have a hard time remembering his role in some of the "later" games, but I'm expecting some fuckery out of him.

Was a free copy of Ground Zeros only a preorder bonus if you preordered Phantom Pain or was this something I dreamed?

I honestly wasn't following the preorder scene that closely. Is GZ even required to understand PP or is a decent enough recap provided?

Have a look at your weapon trees as well. See which ones actually come with a better surpessor so you know what to develop now.

Made D-Horse poop on me until I stank'd, and
got a unique cutscene when I landed on Mother Base where the soldiers still called me "Boss" but were grimacing and turning away. Eventually Ocelot said "You stink, Boss!" and threw a bucket of water on me. :(

That's awesome

Other than interrogating my men for diamond locations, doing target practice and hoping to enter an unlocked door to a cutscene

is there no reason to return to MB? Other than morale and showering

Im already feeling a bit bored with this game... hm :/

And lol at the Mother Base design. Why the hell do i need this long connections? Driving around in this base is a snooze fest.

Finally started playing today (had some download issues), got to mission 6. Even though I really like the overall game, the Mother Base management doesn't sit well with me and I have a feeling it'll turn into a tiresome grind later on if I want it fully upgraded. That whole aspect of the game feels completely unnecessary, it just gets in the way of enjoying the top notch moment to moment gameplay.

The open world also doesn't add much to the game, it's basically just empty space connecting the mission areas with a few small and repetitive outposts thrown in here and there. Haven't reached Africa yet, but something about the Afghanistan desert feels artificial to me since so much of the map is walled off by chest high rock formations. In all honesty, I believe the game would be much better if we got a dozen separate quality levels like Camp Omega from GZ, each with several objectives and many options to accomplish them.

It's too early for me to jump to conclusions and I definitely want to see it through to the end, but going by the initial impressions, TPP definitely won't end up being my favorite MGS game. A shame, the gameplay itself is top quality, but the overall design of the game doesn't seem to be my cup of tea.

As disappointed as I am with the lack of story thus far in my game, nothing comes close to the awesomeness of sitting in the dark marking your enemies and then turning on rebel yell on your Walkman and tearing shit up.

When Boss talks Kiefer is fucking amazing.

Couldn't disagree more, at his best he sounds like he's literally just trying to impersonate Hayter. Otherwise he just seems to speak slow lines or give the most hilarious deliveries ever. Heck every time he says "Spit it out!" or "Where are the others!" I kinda laugh.

Maybe it's amazing for how much entertainment I get out of his voice acting.

I have seen this question asked multiple times and have yet to really see any answer for it.

Had a lot of trouble with mission 16
but restarted it and rushed to the truck when it was at the airport and fultoned it and sprinted away with D-horse. S-rank lol

I really can't imagine Hayter doing some of the heavier lines, I tried to imagine those in his PW/MGS4 voice and it just doesn't click.

For the MB question if you stay outside for too long your soldiers' morale will decrease, also you need to take showers.

OK, i don´t know if my game fucked up or not.

I just did the side mission "Make contact with
emmerich

So,
i find him in the base where the metal gear is being built, he gets carried away. Then i go rescue him in the other base, take the mini metal gear, ride out, chopper in, Skull Face shows up. Goal is to get away from the Metal gear. So i run, and run and apparently i left the mission area. Ok, game reloads. I´m on my horse and nothing.

The side mission menu tells me i finished the mission. But i have no idea if i actually got him, or if the game fucked up and there´s no way to get him.

Do i have to restart the game, because this thing doesn´t have save files?

Rofl, otherwise? As in contrary to Hayer's delivery? What are these A class examples of Hayter VA we've been missing?

So I found a diamond during the first major mission in Afghanistan. Do I sell this or somewhere or does it automatically give me GMP?

That's all voice direction though. Jeremy's Blaustien's localization coupled with lack of constant supervision from KojiPro demonstrated that we can have a Hater/SS that wasn't just a parody.

All of it

The heavier lines are the funniest part I think. He rarely speaks and when he does it's almost to me like "Why did you even bother Snake?"

Maybe it's a love it or hate it thing but honestly I just find the Kiefer performance Hilarious at best or dull at worst.

My only gripe, but it's a big one. I feel like I missed out on a Metal Gear Solid game.

MGSV is a fantastic game, but it's a fantastic game wearing just the skin of MGS. It feels so different in a lot of fundamental ways.
I felt very prepared for this by everything about MGS4 implying that it was the ending to the series. At the time, it was implied to be such a final conclusion, story and production-wise. Plus it was such an excess of the series format (even more cutscenes and story insanity than usual) that I was happy to put it to bed.

That we even get a V is a surprise to me. So the fact that it's "not a real Metal Gear Solid" is fine, because I never thought I was getting another one.

This game feels like a "one last thing". At the end of the series, we go back to finally see Big Boss on the battlefield and how he would have inspired this big legend as a soldier. There's less to say, other than he kicked a lot of ass.

The side mission triggers the main mission. You need to get to it from the Main Missions menu.

I was very opposed to having Kiefer voice Big Boss but Ive turned around and grown to appreciate the work he did here. Not a fan of Miller constantly asking me if I want to bring that guy to Mother Base.. And Ocelot could have stayed the same vo.

You triggered a main mission in the mean time, go to the mission menu to retry.

It'll exchange for GMP automatically when it returns to Mother Base. You don't actively have to sell any of the resources you pick up in the game.

"You're extracting HIM?" in disapproving voice... Well yeah Miller, he has A++ stats you idiot.

it turns into a main story mission, the side op ended when you go through the gate and see the ensuing cutscene
