No the easiest way to do mission 16 is
to use d-horse, run straight to the back of the airport , hop over the wall, and Fulton the truck before it leaves. No tanks and you can just hop on d-horse after and run away from the skulls to exit the hot zone. S-rank in like 3 minutes.

Read what I wrote again.

Holy shit, Code Talker's cassette tapes could cure insomnia :/

Don't you like hamburgers?

I need to ask: What's everyone's problem with Mission 16? I did it fine
(I spent WAY too much time on the Airport with Quiet thinking there wasn't a time limit, till Miller told me "they're almost there", which I than had to switch Quiet for D-Horse, ride straight there, sneak behind them, Fulton the two tanks, see cut scene, Fulton the truck, than finally run away like a coward. Easy)

Can somebody explain the staff assignment stuff to me like I'm a small child

I thought I was adding more people to R&D then it told me that my R&D got downgraded. I'm so confused. The other thing is how do I know who is good to capture? I got a couple of "specialists" but they had reasonably crap stats.

There's one tape called 'The Hamburgers of Kazuhira Miller'. That was a funny convo with Code Talker.

Yeah I've heard the first, that was quite good.

However, I wasted 7 minutes on the tape where he solo talks about parasites giving birth to languages over evolution. Terrible stuff.

Some of us didn't have vehicle fulton yet. :(

I managed to beat the tanks to a road crossing where I C4ed both, then waiting an assload of time for Skulls to slowly walk away from the truck, and drive out unspotted.

Apologies if this has been answered before, but I did not see it in the OP: If I take a soldier out on side ops and the like instead of snake, will their stats improve?

Most missions between 15-25 something feel super easy, breezing through them with A-S rankings. Had way more trouble in the beginning.

I'm often missing side objectives but silenced tranq sniper rifle is OP I guess. It's probably that combined with just getting better at the game overall.

It probably got downgraded because someone got sick or died. Check the sickbay or KIA tabs.

Is anyone else not using the boss for missions and side ops

I rescued this badass chick with great combat stats and I been running with her ever since

And this dude with a fast sprint speed
Named Boom Kangeroo

The boss still shows up in cutscenes ofcourse

Yep bosses muteness ruined him so i ditched him and am playing a badass blonde i found with great stats.
Much better imo.

No actually, I think I have come to the conclusion that I'm just gonna quit this game, and it may be the only Metal Gear Solid game I never completed as a fan. I'm not wasting time on it. My disappointment of the year.

Someday in the future I'll complete it though, some day. :)

Phantom Dogs.

Just finished Episode 29. It was fun.
The missions before it weren't though. Fucking disease must have taken like 100 of my people.

Is there a way to get rid of DD soldiers (other than sending them to die under ranked in missions)? I'm filled up with alot of E's and D's while there are alot more higher ranked soldiers later in the game.

Eli----
still won't accept defeat? What a little cunt

I'm surprised how annoying I find many of the characters, considering I've always loved most MGS characters in the earlier games, being just indifferent towards the worst ones.

Just hit X on the one you want gone and scroll down to "dismiss." It's below all the other assignments you can give him.

It's also good to dismiss
those labeled as "Troublemaker" also
.

It all happened while I was at mother base in person, I didn't send anybody on any missions or anything (I'm not even sure if I can, I'm very early).

Soldiers can still get sick at Motherbase, your level is not supposed to downgrade if you add soldiers, the level is based on how many soldiers you have AND their rank, so even adding an E ranked soldier to an all-S unit should increase their level (very insignificantly of course).

EDIT: or check if you have soldiers with "troublemaker" traits, they lower morale, which can lower someone's rank, just get rid of the troublemakers unless the soldier is really good, in that case make sure you have a soldier with a "diplomat" trait.

As I mentioned in my attempts (and how I had fun with it), what I did was
bringing Quiet, she'll be great at covering you. And then hide behind the tanks, waiting for blade Skulls to attack you. When you hear the unsheathe sound, get ready to parry with R2. Quiet will very likely also shoot the one you parried right after. When you have the chance (and they aren't rock-like), shoot some yourself at them. It took some time, but they eventually all died, and I never felt too close to dying.

Thanks! I will try this out

D-Walker is your friend

I should have developed some stuff for D-walker. Never used it yet.

Any info on the camouflage working as described? It seems to me that it's mostly cosmetic?

Also, what's with gold highlited tapes?

Camouflage works like it's supposed to - desert one is better in Afghanistan, black is good at night etc. There's just no camo index.

And golden tapes/tracks are more story relevant than the others, though all tapes are absolutely worth listening to.

Yes, they work from my experience, with proper camoflage, the enemy needs to be really close to you in order to spot you if you're crawling.

I just finished mission 19 and it said i can check up on research and progress in the R&D platform on mother base

I cant find the entrance :x i see it on the map but i dont know where to enter

I also found some doors on MB that when i get close to i hear that Metal Gear sound effect of denied. I guess i can enter them later or something?

Finally got my tranq sniper, no supressor yet though. I think it's time to hunt some bear. Probably bring my non lethal shotgun as well just in case. :)

140 hours later (Main scenario completed, all secondary missions completed, currently working on S Ranks, 77% completion...), i really love the gameplay, but the writing is meh.

Oh and (Big spoiler post-ending if you want to work on your S Ranks))
Don't complete the last quest (Quiet related), or you won't be able to use her.

Yeah, the camouflage suit is kind of pointless.
The black sneak/stealth suit has noise dampen+armor that allows you to sneak faster and can literally run up to 15-20m of a target before getting caught.
And in rain, lol just run all the time around the base during night time.
Plus, it also has anti-night vision built in for FOB.

Mmm, finally got a good afternoon in with the game and had a blast with only side-ops. Cleared off a bunch of N. Afghanistan side-ops and I do wish there was a little more variety between bases besides just outposts with 4-5 dudes and 2-3 resources to pick up at each with maybe a truck coming through. Since I've stopped using D-Horse, it's a bit harder to just skip outposts at will without a way to do jeep stealth.

Anyone else have problems with digital ps4 version and the 3.0 beta firmware? Cant start the game anymore, keep gettin a error

Does the error say something like "This save data cannot be used as the relevant downloadable content was not found"

I had that error and after downloading and reinstalling from PSN 3 times I had to bite the bullet and delete my save to get the game to work. I backed my save up to USB just incase this gets fixed but nobody seems to be doing anything about it as it seems like only a few people have been hit with it so far.

I wasn't impressed at first, but after using the Riot SMG in a couple of side ops, I'm in love. If it's a village of 3-10 people I'm infiltrating, I can just rush in, stun EVERYONE, fulton them away and get the target. Loving it.

Also, anyone found a use for the (equipment)
water pistol
? Does it work against the
Man on Fire
?

Highlight the ones you want to get rid of with square. Press x and go to dismiss.
