Rashid Confirmed for Street Fighter V

As far as I know, the only inputs completely removed are 360s and mashing. The former is kinda nice and the latter is the best thing to ever happen.

I'm so glad Vega isn't charge now too.

LOL does he seriously have a scouter? LOL. Jetpack is funny too.

This is fair but I think even you have to recognize that "Abel = bland" is not an uncommon opinion
The only place I've seen it tossed around is here on GAF, where bland seems to be code for "I don't like this character." I'm sure it's mentioned elsewhere too, but I don't see it as some defining trait that some are making it out to be.

In the last big character poll he placed second among characters introduced in SFIV, and in the middle of the pack amongst the entire roster so he's got a healthy share of supporters.

I just really don't care for the dismissive attitudes people have towards characters they don't care for. Fighting game rosters are so contentious already, that needlessly throwing other characters under the bus doesn't really add anything positive to the community IMO. There's characters I don't like either, but I try to refrain from tearing them down and instead focus on who I like. I'm not always successful in this, but it does make it more enjoyable IMO.

Welp he has Juri's dive kick, she wont be in the starting roster. Still no zoner character though, everyone has so much anti-zoning options its gonna be hard for them to make one.

He seems very interesting from a gameplay standpoint, looks like they actually had an idea for a gameplay style.

Can't say the same about Shaheen from T7, feels like he uses a bunch of moves from other characters.

I remember him! ;)

It's Gigas and Josie who use moves from characters. Shaheen has some similarities to Raven but thats about it. Also has a Lars type dynamic entry stance but anyone can have that since it can be generic forward dashing leading to unique stuff.

IMO this isn't a problem. If anything it's a boon to the overall game balanced because then you don't have bad matchups with characters, just characters with tools. If everyone has a wakeup option that doesn't require meter then the metagame increases, which is what it should be.

Some of his stuff also looks like Law's (kicks, slide kick, flip) etc.

About the only thing I saw people use that looked his own was that kick that hits the ankles.

To me he feels like they just really wanted to make a middle eastern character but had no fighting style in mind.

Homogenizing the roster for the sake of balance doesn't make the game better, it just makes it blander.

It's not homogenizing it. The tools aren't all equal, but they're there. VF does this and every single character plays differently. Everyone has the same defensive options, so the only "tiers" that exist from 4 on are who has more tools rather than who can counterpick who.
