Instead of going through the game files and acting like everything you haven't seen yet is cut, people should just wait a bit until we've found all the secrets in the game. This is a Metal Gear Solid game, just because it has been out for two weeks and people have "100%ed" it doesn't mean we've found everything there is.

I'm not defending cut content, but not everything people find in the game files is proof of cut content. That nuke cutscene being the biggest proof. I've seen a bunch of people saying it's cut without any proof at all. For all we know it gets activated on september 21, which is peace day. But I've also heard some high ranked FOB player saying it would get unlocked after stealing and destroying like 50 nukes.

Point is, even Robert Allen Peeler (community manager) said he was surprised someone would get that specific cutscene so early. Which implies it would take a while to unlock. Also implies it is not cut at all. I think going through the game files and finding stuff that has changed is always interesting, but I'm no fan of sharing all these bits of content that might actually get unlocked later while people assume it's cut content... just because. I have no doubt a lot of stuff has changed and chapter(s) have been cut, but please let's not assume everything we haven't discovered yet is... cut.

Or maybe I'm just wrong and everything people find in the game files is cut, but still, let's at least wait before assuming things.

TPP is the ultimate realization of this not only because it sets the basis for what The Patriots would later do with Raiden, but because out of the four Snakes that come from Big Boss/Naked, the only one he accepts as his successor is Venom, his comrade from MSF who fought alongside him and shared his ideals. Venom is the only one who's not a genetic clone, but also the only one who takes over the title of Boss. BB writes off Eli and David and may have not even ever known about George.
So, all in all, memes are more important than genes ? :d

Don't think many people have concluded that the nuke scene was cut after the full video, they did after the small audioless clip. But I don't think we're going to suddenly find CHAPTER 3 PEACE at any point.

Yh I agree, while watching the nuke cutscene you figure that if you do enough FOB related stuff/nuke building/disarming it'll probably unlock, and also hearing that supposedly 'cut' dialogue in there as well makes you wonder how much of this is actually cut or instead just requires a lot of time to unlock. I'm sure if Peace Walker came out now someone would have found that Zero Miller phone call hidden somewhere and say it's audio that was cut out. That said it could all genuinely have been cut out, who knows at this early point.

The nuke scene seemed to be the exception rather than the rule.

I still don't understand why Frank Jeager and wee Naomi aren't in the game (that I've seen). The time matched up, the location was vague enough to match, and it would've been a great chance to see a rookie Grey Fox. I'd rather have had that dynamic instead of teen rebel Quiet, Mummy Ocelot and Angry Dad Kaz.

Is Volgin defeated in his final scene because he realises that the person he's targeting isn't Big Boss?

That is how I took it after I learned the truth about Big Medic. I don't understand the hate for the medic. Big Boss isn't some super hero. His mission to take out The Boss involved 2 other double agents (EVA and The Boss herself) and a triple agent (Ocelot) helping him. The legend of Big Boss that Zero built around him with all the propaganda and Big Boss's ability to get people to follow him is what makes people so loyal. MGS1 taught us that genes mean very little so long ago.

The conversation between Ocelot and Kaz where Ocelot tells Kaz that Venom isn't the real Big Boss happened just after he woke up from the coma right? The way I took it is Ocelot told Kaz, Kaz said fuck Big Boss but I'll still go along with this to get my revenge, Kaz and Ocelot joke about adopting a Big Boss clone and killing each other.

Chapter 3 is probably just the chapter after disabling all nukes.

I'm sure it's planned in a future GZ/TPP/?? episode. Everything happens in Africa; Gray Fox, Eli, Solidus/Raiden. The only story that would require a new area would be Turkey/Iraq for Sniper Wolf and maybe SS/LS, and they can manage to make it out of Afghanistan assets.

I'm gonna pretend I never read these.

I think you're just kidding yourself if you think there's more content in there just waiting to be unlocked. I think the structure of Chapter 2 and the cut Mission 51 show the game was rushed out and never actually finished.

All this talk about Venom being the bestest, truest friend to BB reminds me of Humpty's flashback in Puss in Boots where he reveals he was there at every. event. in Puss' life.

Venom was in that cutscene when Zadornov shows up at the beach in PW. Venom was the very first soldier that joined BB during Portaple Ops ("you're pretty good") - heck, Venom is most likely the soldier Miller sent to rescue Big Boss from Strangelove.

The game should have taken an extra month and made sure it was tight and ready to go, unlike what seems to have happened like some science project some kid just remembered he had to do the day before the science fair.

Oh cool, at least we know what's coming with the Chapter 3 !

See that's another thing where if they would have expanded on it, it could have been really cool.

I just got to the part where Ocelot beats down Liquid via CQC. Little did he know that years later he would hypnotize himself to imprint that kid's personality over his own in order to trick a computer and then fist fight that kid's brother to the death.

Why is Ocelot in this game again?

So can you play as any soldier you capture with one of those balloons?

If so, can you play as these ladies?
https://youtu.be/JW0cOjDnuMc

Nope. Only people you can put in your combat team.

Every time I think of going back to this game I remember it locked me out of using Quiet.

Then I play something else.

Everytime I go to play this game, I do and then it's 1am the next thing I know and Quiet left ages ago.

I need help.

Maybe Konami saw the chance to nickle and dime their customers and are holding it off as dlc.

If that's true, then he should have realized that way early on. No, I think he just ran out of steam.

That was the only scene where Volgin wasn't being controlled by Mantis, so I think with his mind clear he could see it wasn't really Big Boss and that his LUST FOR REVENGE was over.

On a related note, I hate how Kojima has to have some kind of redemption arc for every fucking character. Even Volgin for Christ sake!

I think wearing The Boss' suite will also come with her scar, cause we have seen her scar on the same texture as Paz'.

That wouldn't surprise me at all.

There's also apparently unused headgear and customization options (which someone mentioned to me over in the SteamGAF thread), but I haven't been able to source any leads on it yet.

Rewatching the E3 2015 Elegia trailer, i'm annoyed at how they wasted SkullFace.
He could've easily been a good catalyst for BB's descent into madness.

They just had to make Chapter 2 about him (BB) becoming more and more like Skullface, and have Chapter 3 be an epilogue that tied it up to MG1.

They even hint at this with Skullface saying the revenge he put in motion won't stop with his death, and then with Venom seeing Skull Face's "ghost" at Mother base, implying he implanted that seed in him.
Not to mention the PAX trailer with Venom walking down the corridor, turning into Skullface.

Quiet would be extreme useful for mission 29 on extreme :(

She doesn't help that much. That's one of the easier missions (even the Extreme version) if you just get on the roof, shoot things with a rocket launcher, and call in supply drops when you run out of ammo.

Occasionally you may dodge a rock or two but most will hit the building instead.

Every time I think of going back to this game I remember it locked me out of using Quiet.

Then I play something else.

Yeah, biggest bullshit of all.

Hilarious considering her leaving doesn't even make much sense in the story, since she refused to take the Wolbachia because she wanted revenge, maybe, perhaps.

Yeah, could have sworn I saw the sneaking suit from MGS3 in the launch trailer as "Big Boss" is transitioning through his appearances in different games.
