Okay....so am I the only one who thinks that 2 big bosses running around just makes the story for this series 1000 times more confusing?
How? The only thing it changes is that the guy in Outer Heaven is fake Big Boss, and the one in Zanzibar Land is legit Big Boss. If anything it unnecesarily gives an explanation to Big Boss surviving MG1.

When I was watching his stream he kept complaining about that and I completely agree, but he also said this is the equivalent of shipping a broken game, which is untrue.

Their chat was toxic that day.

I am pretty mad at the press, I watched GT and IGN Spoilercast, none of them really compained about that really. Do you fucking job. Schreier is the only real gaming journalist out there tbh.

I'm sure every game has a ton of content cut while it's in development but this is the first triple A game that I've played where it's obvious that it happened. From chapter 2 being completely filler, chapter 3 being completely cut and many plot points being ignored even though they were important all the way through.

It's a shame that this is how the MGS story ends.

Big Boss also seemed pretty fine with letting an entire hospital of people get gunned down, to get his plan rolling.
Sure, XOF were the ones doing the shooting, but from the tapes it's clear BB was prepared and fully expected that development, and did nothing to avoid it, 'cause it played in his master plan.

So yes, Big Boss is a maniac piece of shit from the start of the game, but of course that should've been deducted from his dream of a world in perpetual war.

He really was already a demon. WOAH HOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!

This bodes so well for MGO2.

MGO3 technically.

Eh I enjoy that fan comic. Honestly wish that we got a MG1 and MG2 remake in the fox engine with a move traditional MGS style of gameplay and mission structure plus story to complete the whole series, cause honestly having this series end with PW->Ground Zeroes->MGSV Leaves a bad taste in my mouth

What kind of ending were you expecting? It's an interquel. If you were looking for the exact moment when Big Boss turned into a villain, you missed it, it was ages ago when he decided that the world needed more and more war forever.

MGSV is actually genius because the story is the phantom pain itself. We think it's there but it really isn't.

Every now and then an MGS2 fan uses that type of argument. "It's supposed to subvert sequel expectations by being bad."

I hate it because I unironically like almost everything about MGS2 lol

So, really, outside the glaring omission of concluding Eli's storyline, what else is really incomplete about the game? I see people saying this a lot, but I don't get it. Outside resolving Eli's story, everything else introduced in the narrative has a conclusion?

Such a lust for fan wankery

I'd have preferred more mirrors to be randomly punched than that shit. Just have Venom Snake go into a hall of mirrors and smash all of them. I mean, how many times did the Big Bosses sleep together before that comic? Was that cut?

It's not so much the story that feels incomplete to me so much as the game itself, for a couple of reasons.

1) A lot of the important plot points in Chapter 2, like collecting Volgin's body, are just random things you do in side ops.

2) The ending is a flashback that nothing really leads into and could have happened at basically any time.

An actual ending would have been cool.

Too bad. It's meant to bridge MGS3/Peace Walker to Metal Gear 1 and it does. They weren't going to actually put a definitive ending in the middle of a story that already has an ending.

I fucking hate Shit Talker.

Literally only tapes in the game where I just gave up listening and went on my phone during them.

The hamburger tapes are his only redeeming moments.

We never see men turn into demons which we were told would Happen...

I just took off from my base and saw Code talker sitting up on the roof! I daren't go and meet him in case he starts saying copulate male to female eggs walbachia vocal cord parasites one that covers

The entirety of chapter 2 maybe? There are maybe 4 story important missions in it that are extremely poorly connected and a lot of stuff is relegated to side ops (Why was Volgin even in the game?)

MGSV is actually genius because the story is the phantom pain itself. We think it's there but it really isn't.

It's as dumb an argument as the one that goes around being the Phantom Menace being a genius movie because George Lucas deliberately made the Jedi and every character stupid due to him wanting to make a deep statement about political inaction being the true Evil inherent in society.

The Emperor has no clothes here and I'm not talking about Palpatine

yeah, it really bridges it

Post-Peace Walker: Big Boss built up a mercenary company that eventually became Outer Heaven and somehow ended up back in America

Post-MGSV: Big Boss's doppelganger built up a mercenary company that eventually became Outer Heaven maybe, and the real one... ended up back in America, possibly, we don't know anymore who did what

Do people following one big boss know of the other big boss? Or are people all brainwashed to not hear rumors of another big boss creating a new nation elsewhere?
