Quiet extreme isn't that hard with a proper sniper weapon. The first shot is the most important, then she will likely run to heal and you can cap her for free.

I never used D Walker, ever. I don't like that shit.

Tying the horn to a hidden gameplay mechanic was fucking dumb. The most plausible theory I'd heard beforehand was that it would get bigger as you progressed, when in reality it's actually being slowly pushed out of BB's skull, culminating in it being removed in the ending, explaining why he doesn't have the horn by the time of MG1.

Ummm... did you finish the game?

how many of you actually outsniped quiet in mission 40 and didn't use some lame cheese tactic
Does rocket fist sniping count?

D-Walker doesn't get infinite ammo with the bandana. I tried.

He fucking sucks when it comes to combat anyways. I waited so long to get his fully upgraded missiles, and I shot like 7 them on a tank in Back Up, Back Down Extreme and they didn't even start smoking :lol

I was also hyped for the ballista, thinking it would be like the Fulton Launcher in PW, but it ended up being some shitty knock-off with just 8 bullets that restricts your rank to an A for some reason.

I also don't get why the different functions for his head don't overlap. Disappointing buddy all around. At least he's fast ;_;

Well that's a huge bummer!

That video seems to be sped up. You can't sprint on D-Walker can you?

Oh. You may think so because I like some summer movies with special effects that some people are hilariously hard on, but no.

what happen to this

Was worried somewhat when some were saying this game wasn't Metal Gear enough. IMO this is the purest the series has ever been. You're not getting tons of cutscenes every few minutes, but when did that happen before Solid? I still prefer the balance of story and gameplay despite it usually leaning toward story but I see MGSV as a regression back to the very first games in the series, you're just this badass dude infiltrating shit and massive bases and complexes with so many options at your disposal.

I still think the story is there as there have been some awesome cutscenes here and there and the tapes provide those endless dialogue segments but in terms of stealth, atmosphere, and just gameplay in general, this is the peak of the series so far if you ask me.

...not that anyone is :p

I almost beat Quiet on extreme just using a sniper rifle, it was the first time I use that gun in the game so it was pretty tough, ended up using the stealth camo and just shooting at her form where the mission starts.

When I was about to beat her she attacked me from behind and kill me, so on my next retry I just bombarded her, took like 3 shots.

Can you replay story missions any time you want? Might be the only reason for me to go back, really enjoyed some missions.

I feel like a year from now, people will start viewing the game a bit more positively once the negativity has died down. Right now, it's tough talking about the game in earnest when people just want to use hyperbole. You guys are bumming me out.

What people, though? The story will remain garbage even a year from now, but outside of hardcore MGS die hard fans it feels like most people actually really love the game for its gameplay. And for good reason: Chapter 1 is fantastic, after all.

Wow, this is the most disappointed I've ever been with a game I've anticipated for so long. Fucking garbage.

Yep, this is a new record for me as well. I steeled myself to a point, though, because I had a bad feeling there'd be little story and terrible bosses. But still.

Welcome to the TPP support group. You'll fit right in.

You feel it too don't you?
This pain, is ours.

The more I think about this game the more I dislike it. I don't think it'll ever reach Peace Walker's level of garbage, but still. Just bought Mario Maker, I'm in need of a happier game.

Really tried to fight Quiet on extreme fair and square, but then a Tank fell on her.

Wait, I just found out that you can do stuff in the game to make Venom's horn bigger.

+120 - Kill a critically wounded enemy soldier

Oh man. I swear I was just cleaning house on my radar, it's not evil!

I also killed a lot of tranqued/surrendered enemies because I was tired of looking at them.

Couldn't get supplies to drop on her head, she would always move away. I noticed that in Mission 11 it seems like a 50% ratio. But on extreme she tends to dodge more, I think.

Are you the same JeffZero from gamefaqs? I assume there are only so many JeffZeros but you could just be a phantom.

Remember when Robin Atkin Downes used to tweet about his script quite a bit.
I remember a fair few tweets which alluded to the fact he got new scripts and had recording sessions regularly. I just got the impression they were recording for a blooming long time and recording a lot more content than what is in the game.

Here is one example:

@Kojima_Pro_Live @Konami it keeps going... And going... And going ....

What do those numbers mean? I'd love to see those scripts.
The cut content we've lost, won't stop hurting, you feel it too don't you?

I do this as well.

I analyse them to see if they're of use to me, then I fulton who I want and put a bullet in the head of those who aren't of use.

I'm already a demon.

Haha, that is indeed me.

I am also the JeffZero on the BioWare Social Forums, as well as the Jeff O'Connor on TrekBBS, GateWorld, and twitter. :P

It is impossible for me to believe Miller had lines cut. He talks soooooooooooooooooooooooo much already.

what happen to this

That's the bell curve this game has.

Bad ass intro.
Amazing gameplay.
More amazing gameplay.
Ok, when does the story kick into gear?
Some more amazing gameplay.
This is all very tangential to what i thought was going to go down though.
I'm sure the story will start any minute.
Ah, here we go, it took a while but here we g-- Skullface just died?!
Wait what the fuck is happening?
I already did this mission.
Where am i?
Where's Quiet?
Why do i have to replay the intro again?
What's happening?

This is surely a Kojima ruse, this isn't it, the game is a prank, it's getting the full patch on _____ day for sure!
-
Proceed to come to terms with it, and come to this thread to vent.

Oh ok cool. I posted on gamefaqs pre-MGS4 release. Going by this pattern, I'll see you in 2025 on another forum to talk about MGS7. That's supposed to be the best one I heard.

I don't think theres any reason to believe he's blind

I don't think he's blind. He interacts with the world as if he can see perfectly. Maybe he just has CrAzY EyEs.

his eyes are fucked up from the moment you rescue him.
I'm pretty sure they aren't.

unless my memory is really bad, you see his eyes being fucked up like that only in the cutscene after you finish chapter 2. AND he says "diamond dogs will be my eyes"

come on, if that doesn't imply that he becomes blind I don't know what does.

sure it doesn't make sense how can he do what he does in chapter 2 if he's actually blind but hey, welcome to metal gear.
and if he was actually blind since the start, well that would make even much less sense.

Aha. Ditto. I'll see you there, or perhaps here. Or both. Let's go ahead and hype MGSe7en now, let's not waste time.

I'm already a demon.

I do this for the Eliminate missions because having them surrender doesn't count as eliminating them and I don't want scrubs watering down my ranks. What's worse is even if you do fulton them, you can't get rid of them until they leave the brig and get auto assigned.

how many of you actually outsniped quiet in mission 40 and didn't use some lame cheese tactic

Cheesed out with supply drops on the first time you do it in mission 11, got her in 7 shots in 7 minutes with the WW2 tranq rifle on mission 40. S rank baby!

The optimism I've lost...the positivity I've lost...won't stop hurting.

You feel it too, don't you?

edit: JeffZero say whats up to LeonhartFour for me

I only finished up to 31 and when I saw the rest of it was repeat missions I hopped in the car Gamestop-bound. Am I mistaken, and I'm sorry but I have to just make sure of this because it's stupid even by MGS standards but was Skull Face seriously trying to get rid of the English language through vocal cord killing parasites LOL

"An enemy gunship." *fultons an S+++ soldier* "He's coming too, huh?"

If nothing else, at least the dialogue from this game will quotable for years to come.

"Such a lust" and all its wonderful variants might actually be my all time favorite.

For one thing, its a fucking terrible line, and then you add Horan's delivery and we've got gold.

Square button on PS4
Whelp that's something new.

Now I'm curious, does the rocket fist not count as a firearm for the mission task?
Sadly the game counts it as a firearm. My understanding is the best way to do that fight without firearms is to tag her and call a supply drop on her head twice. I haven't tried it myself, but I've seen it mentioned in a few places.

I'm pretty sure they aren't.

I just replayed that mission like 30mins ago. His eyes are definetly messed up at the start. Venom even asks him if there's something wrong with his eyes to which Kaz's response is that its just bright out.

I remember he posted a vine where the voice director told him "in this scene Miller is trying to tie his shoes". Is that in the game?
