So besides Vega, every seems to be going as expected right?
So far, yes. But Capcom's "characters you'd expect" comments threw Alex & Urien into a cloud of doubt.

Which I'm surprised people fell for. This is from the same people that swore up and down that we hadn't called Decapre. And they downplayed the previous leak before that.

I think it was before SDCC because I remember being disappointed when Ken was revealed because I thought (for some reason) that Alex could drop at any time. I could be wrong though.

I mean there might not be a reveal at NYCC at all because Brazil is the same few days and there probably isn't a good character to reveal there.

Alex is from New York. There is a New York styled stage yet to be revealed.
I'm sure he did, but you're wishing them into DLC because you want other characters in the initial roster.

Ryu also had a fireball feint in the alpha games. Ken had a fake roll accompanying his real one.
I honestly think this is the correct order. Story details will probably come with Urien as well

Seems kind of weird for SFV to not have a new boss. Every series had one except for Alpha.
I really doubt they'll announce anyone @ NYCC when Ono's already confirmed months ago he's announcing a character (Laura) @ the Brazilian Game Show. It's not like Dubai and TGS which are a week apart, they run at the same time. An established character will take way too much attention of their new one...

Necalli would fit the boss mold well. He already has an obvious first and second form. Have a DLC boss character would be weird too.
I don't understand how people think Alex and urien will be there at launch when there's only 2 new and 2 classics left. No matter how you think you can spin it, urien and Alex are not considered classic characters in any form. They or more under the characters we haven't seen in a while section and those are filled.

Urien technically hasn't been a boss before. Story wise he makes sense, he's probably head of the illuminati at this point. Sometime between V and 3 Gill gets born from Necali and usurpers Urien.
Alex will be revealed October 8th.

No, but it was an elaborate ploy to make us think it was SF2. It was all boldface lies to make the Alex reveal more magical! Everything from the EVO roster graphic to the Gamespot article comments to the total refusal to show SF3 characters in any capacity.

Why would they announce two characters in two days? I'm sorry Ono going to Brazil to announce the Brazilian Laura isn't some misdirection by Capcom so that the alex reveal will by hype.
I always assumed V was a bridge between 4 and 3. Someone in the thread said a stream confirmed it. Story/character wise it makes sense.
Not sure if we'll get a nycc reveal with bgs the same day.

the thing about "classic" and "expected" characters is that those statements fall into the danger zone of PR semantics. it makes more sense to vaguely downplay the leak list than to give away anything concrete or even acknowledge the leaks via dismissal . on the other hand, we've got a somewhat credible leak list claiming Alex and Urien, they make sense story-wise and in terms of freshness and fan demand, and Sim and Gief really don't have the gravitas of final reveals. urien literally appeared in the licensed SFV prelude story comic, too. Alex has been heavily teased since SFxT.
i mean, honestly, the crow won't be too bad either way so w/e
Probably not, but I feel like most of the stages behind the characters will come up at some point. It would just be dope to introduce Alex on the city streets.
