He doesn't even have 360s in his own game aside from a Super Art, which I'm fine with as that would be double the inputs of its HCB throws like most Super Arts are double QCF. However, Mika's CA is HCBx2, right? That's probably what he'll get.

I don't get why people argue we need "dedicated" charge and grapple characters. I enjoy all these hybrids. And Alex is a grappler as much as anyone what with him getting different throws based on what direction his opponent is facing. He could be the only SFV character with two CAs.

it just seems odd to have a SF game with no dedicated grappler. Gief, Hugo, Sodom... if we aren't going to have one of those at launch, and we already have a hybrid grapple character AND we know Alex is coming... it stands to reason he may be a true grappler.

There are two things to consider about Alex & Urien.

• Capcom made a comment about the last 2 veterans being "characters you'd expect".
• However, Capcom has lied about the rosters of their fighting games in the past.

during the 3rd strike era i was kinda phased out of fighting games at that point of my life so those would be basically new characters to me so i hope they make it, correct me if im wrong but wasn't alex like the face of that game and kinda ment to be the 'new ryu'

Zangief also won the tournament in 4, so it makes sense for him to show up from a story perspective, unlike Alex. He's more popular than Alex both inuniverse and in real life.

Having slower grabs for better buttons does not make you less of a grappler.

I main Sim and second Gief so I'll be happy to see them included but they can come later as DLC as far as I'm concerned. Alex and Urien would be a welcomed bit of fresh air, and 3S must be represented.
Anyway I hope I can have my Alex vs Gief throwdonwn in the game down the road sometime.

You can have grabs and not be a grappler, but you can also have just one and be a grappler - see T. Hawk. It's all about the playstyle. Mika has like 5 or 6 different grabs and her gameplan / V Skill is about getting in a position where people are scared of eating them. That's a grappler.

I am 99% sure its Alex for nycc. And 1% sure its guile. So far there is only 1 real American character and that's Nash. I am sure they will reveal another American character at NYCC and I am 99% sure its Alex.

Makoto, Honda, Akuma, Evil Ryu, Oni, Dhalsim, Balrog, Fei Long, Hakan, Ibuki, Seth, Yang, Yun all ahd some sort of command grab, sometimes as their ultras/supers.

But Dhalsim has a pretty unique style, though

He was born in America but trained under the same master as Ryu. Not sure if that's where he grew up too.

I'm assuming he grew up in America since he has an American accent (at least in his english VO).

EDIT: According to the wiki, he lived in America with wealthy parents until he was 12. His dad sent him to his best friend in Japan to learn discipline and receive training.

Who knows what their playstyle or appearance would be. Calling any potential returning character bland considering some of the changes Capcom has made with other veterans in SFV is premature.
