Konami should be thinking ahead. Making a definitive MGSV:subtitle version would sell like hotcakes if they fixed the major issues.

Address the mission pacing, make much faster/cheaper R&D upgrades (that aren't only based on in-game time), and add in the cut content. Bring back the voice actors now for a few days to record the last part, throw in the jungle island of the flies.

I'd buy it.

Then release MGR2.

Ocelot and Naked Snake are totes like

Subtitle rereleases aren't done nowadays because its much easier for companies to just release that kind of content as DLC. Same goes for expansion packs.

MGS1 does not require an emulator. It has a pc version. But use EPSXE if you want to play the PS1 version.

MGS2 also does not require an emulator but the pc version has issues to get working.

If your cpu is up to it, use PCSX2 for MGS2 and MGS3.

MGS4 is not available on an emulator in any remotely working fashion.
This should get me started. I own the games, but would rather play them on PC if possible for better textures, framerate, ect.

But there are still a bunch of games that get "GOTY" editions, which is essentially what I'd expect out of a subtitled version. I'm waiting for Arkham Knight and MKX, considering WB loves those re-releases.

Conspiracy theory time, maybe Konami forced Kojima to release the game in its current state so he wouldn't close the story loop and Konami could keep milking big boss' story line.

how about instead of meow DLC they do a story DLC

please

I'd rather see meowing than more of this story to be honest. At least one would bring me enjoyment.

they still do it, they just call them HD editions

MGSV is also current gen though, might have to think outside the box, Super HD.

Maybe I'm justifying, but I think the main problem with MGSV is time and budget. With ME 3, it's hubris; a writer thought he was more clever and smarter than his audience, and it turned out the Emperor had no clothes.

There's nothing worse than someone thinking they are smart and clever and falling flat on their face because it is an insult to me and a disgrace on their part.

While I don't hate the ending to Mass Effect 3 (my first playthrough of the trilogy was last month with the Extended Cut + Leviathan DLC to expand and give context on it), I agree with you here. That was a case of the writer trying to outsmart everywhere, whereas MGSV feels like Konami wanted to cut their losses after, what... five years and $80 million spent on development?

Seeing as they want to get the hell out of AAA game development, I can't really blame them for forcing Kojima to ship the game. Doesn't make it sting any less, though.

*sigh*

Everyone who plays the series should see this scene.

Even if you have, and you are using a technicality to make your point; that we never see children, acting as soldiers in MG2, the point stands that his end goal with every single one is to brainwash them in Zanzibar Land to become soldiers he can feed to the fire. Zanzibar Land as a nation only produces war, the only future for its citizens, the children seen throughout the game and the soldiers acting as enemies, is war, and eventually a gruesome death.

His speech is like The Boss, especially the "it doesn't matter who wins here, our fight will continue, the survivor will live the rest of his life on the battlefield" part.

The Boss: "One must die and one must live. No victory, no defeat. The survivor will carry on the fight. It is our destiny..."

I have a question. I'm not so well versed in all things Metal Gear but i've played all the games enough to know the story. At the end of TPP, Miller and Ocelot are heard talking (i'm guessing at Mother Base) about the truth about Venom Snake, and Miller says he will make his (Big Boss) sons stronger to send him to hell, and Ocelot says that they might end up on opposite sides one day and one of them would have to kill the other.

Is this foreshadowing that Ocelot is the one who kills Miller before the Shadow Moses Incident in MGS? As far as the Metal Gear wiki is concerned, the assassin is "unidentified".

We can only be certain that Ocelot would have been at least behind his assassination, not necessarily that he was the one to put bullet in his head. But we knew that already.

I've been thinking about it and I don't think Konami can be blamed for this game being what it is, most of this is on Kojima. I wonder if he actually feels satisfied with the product he put out from a narrative standpoint, because if he is he should be ashamed of his deeds.

What's interesting to me is that the gaming media is still going full tilt with the accolades. The game of the year discussion will be an interesting one.

Uh...well it is an absolutely incredible game. Is everyone supposed to hate the game now?

my buddy just said "I've done up to 41 and so far Chapter 2 has been horrible, with bad pacing and shitty missions that I've already done"

I lied and said "don't worry, it get's better"

am i a bad person?

No, you're a fiddle player

Well chapter 43 and 45 aren't bad. Chapter 2 was so weird. I just think of it as postgame extras.

The pain will be sharp no matter what you said. At least you gave him hope it'll get better.

Maybe its just me but I'd trade FOB, MGO3 and last gen versions in an instant if it gave us some of the cut content back or at least could be redirected into letting more of the game be finished.

Not sure which TPP thread to ask this in, is there a version of Quiet with her Dark-eyes-super-serious-super-human-mode that is a costume?

I think she looks so much more badass with it on, makes her look like a supervillain or something. Would be cool if we could toggle it on/off for her look.

Unfortunately not... However, it does seem to be a customization perk for MGO, so that's pretty cool, if you're into MGO!

So I'm watching this MGS V live stream from TGS and their game says 157/157 Side Ops completed but they're able to use Quiet. Now I didn't watch it yesterday but does this confirm we may get her back?? :O

I've just completed the game. Wow..

So Venom Snake gets killed by Solid in MG1, right?
So who's the bad guy in MG2? Is it still Venom, or is it the real Big Boss?

Absolutely.

FOB should have been left on the cutting room floor.

As should last gen versions.

They'll be dissapointed either way, it can't hurt any worse than it already does lol

Chapter 2 definitely has some very strong moments (story wise)... it's just paced even worse than chapter 1.

And about the whole you not playing as Big Boss all along... that didn't even phase me in the slightest. In fact like I said, it made a whole lot of other things make more sense to me in the grand scheme of things for the MGS universe (including MG). It's certainly less of a mind fuck than most of the things that happened in MGS2.

Random note but for me the star VA performer of MGSV was without a doubt Kaz. That dude's VA put in over work and showed the greatest range of emotions out of all the VAs in the game. I definitely enjoyed his lines the most.

Shining Lights is 43 so you're right.
