Nothing is really jumping out at me as a must watch show. Only Blindspot is one that I'm holding out hope for..could be interesting and I like Jaimie Alexander.

Graceland's gonna get a season 4 to close it out right?

Oh god, Firewall and Iceberg really is ending. I guess Hollywood Reporter doesn't want Feinberg to podcast.

But now there isn't a good TV podcast around anymore other than EHG, which I don't really like the format of in terms of their coverage of new shows (1 a week just isn't enough).

I really don't want to go back to actually reading TV news stuff. :(

Bummer. Maybe try the Ryan and Ryan podcast? Are they even still doing that?

They do like an episode every 2 months now or something. lol

I assume the podcast stuff doesn't pay, and they need to keep churning out articles, so no one does it.

But there really isn't an "insider" podcast that is both regular and covers a lot of shows that I know of. IGN has one, but they only care about nerd shows (how much more Gotham news do I really need?) and their podcast comes outwhenever they feel like it as well.

I guess I never realized how few general TV podcasts were out there because I can't think of any others either.

I have been listening to a good number of random TV podcasts recently, mainly to try and fill the time between Firewall and Iceberg.

Ryan and Ryan is slightly more regular now but their sound quality can become unbearable for sometimes minutes at a time.

I just assume that Ryan is recording off Skype which is why he always sounds ok and why Mo is the one that becomes laggy, which sucks because it normally happens when she is getting interesting.

Vulture do an ok TV podcast, I think the guy Alan is writing his new book with is on that.

The Hollywood reporter have one called TV Talk Machine but I can't listen to it because the host is a tech guy and barely knows anything about TV and the TV critic has shocking taste.

There's also the spin off which I think is monthly or biweekly it's a lot of inside baseball stuff which is kind of interesting.

Theres also the Indiewire Very Good Television Podcast which I just started listening to, it's ok I guess.

Basically this is a very long way of saying there is nothing to fill the whole that Firewall and Iceberg is going to leave behind.

Now that Wolf has got all three emergency services covered in Chicago, what's next? Chicago Law? Chicago Walmart? Chicago Taxi? The possibilities are endless, so exciting.

Or maybe that's too adventurous. How about New York Fire?

Make that last one Chicago Uber to be more zeitgeisty.

Wait wait wait, Tim Goodman continued his podcast over at HR but Dan can't do his podcast? Is this because he's working with a competitor or something? That's really lame.

And yeah, I had to stop listening to Goodman back when TV Talk Machine was over at SFGate, so... lol

And as much as Ausiello is basically just a gossip queen with his "Scoops", I miss the old TV Guide podcast. But that's a bygone era.

But I guess I'll try Tim Goodman again... for the lack of any better options. :(

I can't stand the Firewall podcast. The recording quality is so shitty and Alan and Dan are just so grating sometimes.

EHG is easily the best tbh

My problem with EHG is that they only cover one new show, so it's not really useful as a review/preview/news podcast.

That and the whole "let's have a kid talk about that SyFy reality" show thing just stopped being cute, so I skip that stuff.

These are the reasons why I stopped listening to the above podcasts.

I listen to a ton of podcasts but I've never been able to find a television one to stick with.

I don't want to listen to reviews of shows I'm definitely not going to watch and I don't want to listen to pre-air reviews of new shows I am planning to watch, so that leaves only shows I am slightly interested in but haven't yet decided to watch which is a minuscule number.

I like to hear reviews of all sorts of shows, even ones I'm not planning to watch, but I definitely don't like when they spend more than a few minutes talking about each one.

What I'd really be more interested in is a podcast that talked about ratings and industry stuff more than individual shows. Then I could actually listen to entire episodes.

Hey, they talked about what the networks served them for lunch during the TCAs on Firewall!
ABC had a Swedish chef theme for the Muppets or something. lol

No more talk about Arrow/Shield/Carter/Daredevil/whatever pleeeeeease. I'm all tapped out with that stuff. lol
But why not have a TV-GAF podcast were we spend 60 minutes extolling the virtues of the Marvel Cinematic Universe crossing into the television landscape?

couldn't type that with a straight face

I have discovered Rick and Morty

why did noone tell me about Rick and Morty?

its amazing :o

as usual, Im going to have to blame Ratsky

I'm thinking of starting New Girl, only because Zooey Deschanel is the main character, and she were super great in 500 Days of Summer.

If you liked her there, you'll like her in New Girl. Fun, quirky, usual thing for her. I think it's one of the better network sitcoms on at the moment. Wore thin for me beyond season one, but definitely worth checking out.

Like Heroes, I think New Girl is one of those shows that was never much more than just okay and once it started to wear thon I feel like people could see that more so. Just my two cents, no offense intended. Just wish it was a better show, what with the excellent cast.

Madridista, there are so many excellent shows out there you haven't seen, comedy and drama, if I am remembering your posts correctly. I'd say spend your time with those instead. And I say that as a a big fan of Zooey Deschanel in Elf, 500 Days, and more.

Oh yeah, I'm going through lots of TV shows these months. I'm currently finishing up Gotham with four episodes left, and I'm watching Humans too, and recently started Penny Dreadful. Need to finish Constantine as well, before the start of Arrow.

But yeah, I will eventually get around to shows like Game of Thrones, Lost, Doctor Who, Broad City, Breaking Bad, Empire, Fargo and all that. Haven't seen any of them yet.

Well, just for my own taste and I'm saying this because I know you like a lot of similar genre fare, I just watched Fargo recently and though it took a few episodes to get going I found it to be really excellent once it hit its stride. So I would put that high on the list as it's less of a time commitment since the seasons are barely connected as I understand it. Also, for the most part what you listed is from the past few years. There are a lot of terrific shows that predate 2010 and are well worth watching. 😄

Another year where time commitment and short attention span for traditional network fare dictates that I'll be watching predominantly shorter season "premium" fare. And Netflix/Amazon stuff.

Aside from Outlander, anything worth watching on Starz? What about Showtime? I've got three months of each for free with my internet service.

List
Narcos
Sense8
Fargo
The Bastard Executioner
Man in the High Castle
The Expanse
Humans
The Muppets
Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Lots of catching up, a few new shows. Only The Muppets from broadcast.
