There's a legit reason for using the Training Stage. It's to not only prevent lag, but it's to also allow players to easily see their spacing.

All SFV needs is a tournament mode that uses only random stages. No need to remove it and we still get stage variety. All fighting games should have tournament modes, especially Street Fighter which guaranteed at tournaments.
If players complain then Capcom can ban the training stage from tournament mode altogether.

Idk motion Vega sounds like some crazy shit and Vega has always been a scrub killer (take it from a master scrub). Necali seems to be the one who will fall by the wayside , this is all based off of like 5 videos but he doesn't seem that good and giving him some charge moves will scare some people off. But honestly, I imagine most of the newcomers will fall down the list a bit, Rashid doesn't have that "errbody gonna play him" look to him IMO (whatever the fuck that actually means). Most people tend to stick to their mainstays after awhile...

Nah. Look no further than the fallout over him being hybrid charge now. There probably were going to be tons of people playing him, but that change will make significant dent in that.

Chun Li will be forgotten because nobody will want to put in the time. Vega's gonna be common because he's the coolest and looks good.
Definitely. Ain't nobody gonna play as Sim if he's one of them.
- No one (except Vega players) will play Vega until they realize he's now a motion character
- Rashid will be heavily slept on and wrongly despised for his fun shenanigans
- M. Bison will be played exclusively by people who think they're hardcore mf'ers
- Casuals will hate Birdie depsite not being too hard to overcome
- People will enjoy Nash, but will not enjoy him being repeatedly nerfed for no good reason
- Necalli will get play because Super Saiyan V-Trigger, but if those two specials remain charge moves he will be abandoned by a decent chunk
- Everyone will try R. Mika and Karin for the first two weeks; 75% of those players will migrate to something simpler
- K-Brad and Jamie Lee Curtis will play Cammy and that's all that matters
- Many will still play Chun-Li even if she's not that strong, because "That's my girl"
- Ryu Ryu Ryu Ken Ken Ken oh god i am drowning in them

I wouldn't say SF4 was about Abel. It was less focused on new protagonists, and more about the return of the World Warriors (someone had a good point a while ago about Seth and who he gets his moves from).
But SFV is a different beast. Of the new characters, Necalli seems to be the only hugely important one, and Rashid seems to be doing his own thing. I bet Laura and Zen will be more involved.
First thing I'm doing if I get a training dummy with record and Ken available is looking for the hardest punish I can find/anti air for his ex air tatsu. That shit will see so much fucking mileage online.

Or Capcom could go back to the storytelling of the Justice Gakuen/Rival Schools games. Admittedly, there were only, what, seven (?) teams in MJG, but they had branching story paths and a lot of dialog.
There's no guarantee that they'll reveal a character at NYCC, a day or two after Laura gets revealed. They'll could just be showing off the NYC stage that is hinted @ in Ken's image background.... they could also talk about something that will move far more units than Alex, Urien, Gief and Sim combined x 50 thousand, you know the story mode like MK's.
Because yeah NYCC goers are so going to be pissed they get to play a brand new build with Laura & the Brazil stage (and maybe NYC as well) not to mention everything else they got shown off in the last two weeks. They really need that hype reveal....

If that was the case, we would just have the Capcom USA crew there to talk about the story mode like they talked about the DLC distribution plan at the EVO panel. Ono wouldn't be flying straight from Brazil to NYC if there wasn't gonna be a new character. Wherever he goes, a new character follows.

They are both too overpowered due to SF Canon that putting them in would break the game. Particularly Cody.

For obvious V-trigger but aren't in the game yet: Juri.
It could be her Feng Shui Engine as was in SF4 or something else that gave her more of an agressive stance.
Chun li's v-trigger is too close to feng shui IMO.

Even with that, Feng Shui wouldn't work as well in this game because of the reduced number of normal attacks. No chain combos at all would be possible or fun in this game.
To me, I always thought that her counter would make a great V-skill and for her V-Trigger, perhaps, making her even faster. Or go with combo properties that can throw the enemies to the air and continue from there. Kinda like Chun in the first SF V video.
