I agree but that one he needed the assist from Solidus. A bullet ricochet from his katanas broke the chain enough for Snake to brute force it out

It fucked Emma and Hal up. By all accounts they seem to have thought he turned out to be a pretty decent dad.

I really don't know why they couldn't increase the ambiguity of what Huey did. Diamond Dogs spinning the whole "you wanted Otacon as a test subject" felt like it was just a standard "kid wants to get into an airplane cockpit" thing but nope they actually ended up going down that road with him. I feel like his disagreements with Diamond Dogs and weapons manufacturing was already a good cause for drama in order to turn him against them (and really even if he was remotely responsible for fucking over MSF the point stands they were still a bunch of crooks that don't deserve sympathy) but instead Kojima just had to sully the character on his way out.

1. Mission 45 is unlocked by doing the Side Op to go rescue Quiet. If you don't have that, either get max bond with her or take off the butterfly emblem

Its left to your imagination but the most plausible explanation is that Venom Boss was not in the news at the time while Big Boss commanded FOXHOUND. When Venom Boss stages his insurrection at Outer Heaven obviously that means Big Boss has to leave the US. He probably got a plane ticket before Snake was even done with his mission.

Yeah. Same if you use a Combat Unit soldier.

The point of the game is that every soldier there is Big Boss even though obviously they aren't. You are carrying on his meme. His legend. When you play a combat soldier and they die, Miller and Ocelot still refer to you as Snake or Boss.

Whether that's good writing or not is another issue entirely but that's what they were going for.

Still saved the world twice and defeated the entire cobra unit alone. Thats the stuff of legend. Plus wouldnt outer heaven be his new "dream" not solely a mercenary band but rather a nation?

So finally finished the story/mission 46. Fucking hell I laughed so hard, no wonder so many MG fans are pissed. I'm gonna be honest, I quite liked the twist and overall didn't mind the story. Just need to watch the episode 51 video now but overall I'm satisfied and it easily remains my favourite MGS game and very likely my GOTY. Still gonna keep playing it and get everything developed and generally just fuck about, really fuckin enjoy playing this.
