I had a feeling Scream Queens would be a massive flop despite all the promotion. The promos made it look horrible imo, a comedy/horror hybrid that is neither funny nor scary. And the series seems primarily aimed towards teenage girls which leaves out a huge chunk of potential audience. I think it'll probably get a big boost in DVR viewership though.

I'm curious to see the ratings for Empire now.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll unsurprisingly renewed by FX.

Added Leary, “The only thing that could make me happier about this announcement is if David Bowie decided to be a guest star during Season Two. In which case, my head would explode. Hopefully on-camera so we get a kickass viral video out of it.

cringe

Goddammit America, we had one job--to watch Scream Queens--and we failed.

:/

The Muppets 2.8
Limitless 1.8
Scream Queens 1.7/1.6 (first hour/second hour)

I was about on target with Limitless, a little optimistic on Muppets and way overshot Scream Queens. Not a total disaster for anyone, I think, but probably pretty underwhelming.

[edit] Transcribing other ratings...

Fresh Off the Boat 1.9
Dancing With the Stars 1.6/1.4 (first hour/second hour)
NCIS 2.4
NCIS: Quantum Leap 1.7
The Voice 3.0/3.7 (first hour/second hour)
Best Time Ever With Neil Patrick Harris 2.2 (rose appreciably from last week!)

That's baffling. I saw the first episode and it was horrid. Who knew Barney isn't funny live. I don't wanna say it's the worst hour of TV I've ever seen, but it's up there. After seeing that first episode I can't fathom why anyone would wanna watch the second.

In case anyone missed it (I certainly had), The Cancellation Bear is now run by faceless suits at Tribune Digital Ventures. Its original puppeteer, Bill Gorman, left after selling TVBytheNumbers to Tribune and now has taken on the persona of the TV Grim Reaper, which isn't nearly as charming of an avatar, IMO.

I think it's because not many people knew it was on last week. It got better sampling this week, premiere week, with The Voice as a lead-in rather than the last episode of the season for America's Got Talent.

The Muppets was upped to a 2.9, Limitless to a 1.9 and Scream Queens to a 1.7. FOX ordered a 'rushed final rating' for it.

Calling it now, Empire saves the day.

Surreal Muppets beat out Scream Queens. I thought Muppets was good and Scream Queens got off to a decent start.

I'm not surprised about Scream Queens. That type of show doesn't seem to be the type of thing that appeals to network television viewers.

Speaking of Canada, is Lost Girl still on? Some US show should grab the sidekick girl, she's super cute (as in quirky)

Also that show is kinda bad. I'm such a sucker for anything remotely supernatural :/

I'd say that the live watching of broadcast shows is becoming more and more niche.

There is still interest in these shows but the manner in which the public is consuming them has changed so radically I wonder if some viewers (teen girls?) see something like Scream Queens and think "I cannot wait to binge watch that on Netflix"?
My fiance and I cut the cord 2 weeks ago so we now exclusively wait for all our shows to show up on Hulu, so I'm part of the problem for live premieres...

She was suppose to be the evil spirit in the Locke and Key show. It never got picked up.

The project is written/executive produced by Drawn Together creators Dave Jeser and Matt Silverstein. Here is how they Fox Logodescribe its premise: Two profoundly white, liberal LA parents discover their 10 year-old-son is a basketball prodigy. They suddenly find themselves wrapped up in a community they can’t possibly understand, forming an unlikely friendship with a family they have nothing in common with. 20th Century Fox TV, where Jeser and Silverstein are under an overall deal, is the studio.
is this 2015?

They have an overall deal, so just imagine the pitches Fox rejected!

That said, kudos to whoever thought to rename "Straight Outta Calabasas". Fantastically cynical move that (I'm guessing) worked.

Sounds like some shit that would have been on The WB
