And Kingdom Hearts BBS has 90% of the series plot and is effectively KH0. SE still doesn't treat it like a numbered title.
And Capcom does what's your point?

I really don't think there's anything to be gained by comparing to Square-Enix naming conventions
Spinoff, doesn't count.

A few problems against your argument :
a. Firstly, even though the KH franchise is predominantly non-numbered spin-offs, the importance of each game's story is recognised. Which is why 2.5 includes BbS, and why 2.8 is a necessary 'collection', because despite being non-numbered, BbS is essentially KH0 and DDD is KH 3. They may not be treated as a numbered title in production values, but in terms of story? They are.
b. Unlike SF Alpha/Zero, which was actually called Street Fighter ZERO in non-western territories, KH has a consistent naming scheme across all regions. There's no misunderstanding about what KH are spin-offs and what aren't, unlike SF Alpha/ZERO which is very clearly a 'numbered prequel' to Asia/Japan, but the west is given the terrible misleading name called Alpha.
c. SE =/= Capcom.
I was amongst the first. Hell, I may have been the first (on GAF).
Just thought I'd point this out.

I said numbered Street Fighter games (sans SFI), with Alpha being in its own section. And by numbered, I was including SFIII (as per the Siliconera leak).Ahem
No one believed me before but....
He was? A bunch of people quoted me saying that the theory I posted about was a good one (though it's basically the same as delSai's).Well technically the first person to suggest it was Alex and Urien in that box was delSai so

Found it.Link to your previous post?
Gaf went crazy from my post as expected haha.. I wouldn't take my post as a guarantee for Alex and Urien, though I think they are more likely now. Matt has been a journalist for several years, so I am sure he knows not to "spoil" anythingWe will see!
I know one way to blow up gaf though:
-The 2 new characters are revealed with respective Ono teasing and live event
-A random day a character reveal of Gief AND Dhalsim is announced Vega style. It shows character redesign and all is good. Trailer fades to black. You hear "Crush, Kill, Destroy! .. At ease loser"
-Alex and Urien has their separate reveals at other dates and Capcom has fooled us with 18 instead of 16 characters in starting roster![]()
Thanks for the info on Rashid a few pages back, really appreciate. I'm sure gonna give him a try at launch.
As for the reveal, I really don't care one way or the other as I like all 4 guys in this debate, but I realy wish they gave all the 3S fans out there what they deserve, and I agree that revealing SIm and Gief at this point would kinda kill the hype.
I just hope Sim and Gief show up at some point via DLC because I happen to really love them, both design and playstyle-wise, I'm weird like that.
What is that, the PS5 port?
Ahem

Like I said before, Capcom doesn't do unlockable characters like that, anymore (or to be specific, Capcom doesn't do Smash-style secret characters, anymore). They haven't done such a thing since Vanilla SFIV & Vanilla MvC3 (thanks to backlash from fans & tournament organizers alike). Any secret characters will most likely be DLC.I firmly believe this is the case, but not Alex and Urien. The 2 secret character slots are reserved for Akuma and the game's boss. It will be Alex/Urien or Gief/Sim for the last 2 returning characters though.
On the Alex and Urien note, I have been thinking, there must be a reason why all the returning OG characters are all from Alpha, and that there is a lack of third strike characters so far in the roster.
Some of these third strike characters would have easily replaced Birdie and Vega.and Cammy who should have been replaced with Guile if we talking SF2 characters.

Ken Bogard said 16 characters from the start. If Capcom had 2 more characters planned, he would have mentioned that in his initial leak.I don't think they're going to be secret characters in the vein of Vanilla SF4 and Marvel, but more like, "We lied to you guys, the roster is actually 18 characters, now go buy the game".
Balrog and Sagat both left Shadaloo.I don't actually want to play characters from SF2 again, but it would bother the hell out of me if they just put half of Shadaloo in the game. We can't split those dudes up. That's why SFEX bothered me so much. Bison shows up on his own, and that's fine because he's the leader, but then Sagat and Vega show up without Balrog. There must be symmetry.

But sagat was still grouped with the rest in 4 yeah?Sagat left Shadaloo as of Alpha 3 & Balrog left as of SFIV.
For the sake of SFII nostalgia, yes. That plus the fact that 3 out of the original 4 were still together. And even then, the story didn't really show Sagat as being with Shadaloo. Now half of the original Shadaloo Kings are gone. But sagat was still grouped with the rest in 4 yeah?

Is that 20 counting the initial 16? Even then, they'll probably save those characters for the first month of DLC to maintain a steady pace of DLC releases (see Splatoon).Plans change though. Capcom is probably currently working on ~20 atm the moment with varying development stages. If one or more are done by release, why not announce them a day 1 bonus to hype their debut?
Plus, you gotta have Gouki in there mang.
This guy also gets it.Lol you guys dig up some old ass shit
I really cant see Gief and Sim being the last 2 characters, Capcom did so well until now with the reveals, the hype is thru the roof and then the last two returning characters are supposed to be those two? Nah no way, they would've been revealed way earlier because at this point it would totally kill everything they build up so far.
I believe the Siliconera rumor. Bring back the best Street Fighter, Alex.
This guy also gets it.

I'm agreeing with the idea of Zangief & Dhalsim killing the hype. If we were gonna get those two, we would have had them revealed a long time ago, with Rainbow Mika being saved as one of the last reveals. Maybe Karin would have stayed at TGS given her Japanese popularity, but that's a 50/50 chance for a what-if scenario."I want Alex so I think he's obviously on the roster"
If I recall, we're supposed to be getting this game before the end of Capcom's fiscal year.Yes. Honestly, I am thinking this is the case because Capcom is announcing their characters at a really fast pace. So we either get this game really early next year, or it's coming by the end of Q1 with bonus characters.
Unless, Capcom will be releasing story episode trailers to sustain the hype like MvC3, but those usually come with new character announcements.
Balrog and Sagat both left Shadaloo.
Which is basically a different way of saying "I want this character and not that character, so obviously Capcom would be smart to put in this character"I'm agreeing with the idea of Zangief & Dhalsim killing the hype. I think it's a mix of both story & gameplay that Capcom factors into who's being included. It's been theorized that the green section is actually for the main Street Fighter games (specifically the II-III-IV games), while the blue section was for the Alpha characters. For Street Fighter V, it's likely that this game will serve as the bridge between IV & III, and the Illuminati will play a role in the story (as per them being responsible for Charlie's return). And like Zangief & Dhalsim, Sagat & Balrog would dampen the hype that Capcom built up & would have been revealed earlier on if they were in the game.If they're putting characters in this game because they're beholden to a storyline, then they're going about the entire character selection process the wrong way. The canon doesn't matter. Putting the four SF2 bosses in the SF2 box makes sense.
Someone should make an official scale of the Hypeness Rating of each Street Fighter character. Someone with objective tastes. Then when Street Fighter VI is revealed Capcom will be able to reveal characters in the correct order.

Even though Ken and Ryu are both Street Fighter 1 characters, so is Birdie. So the green section is for numbered SF games. Yet every character revealed forth green section so far have been SF2 characters. Seems like too much of a coincidence they could have had atleast one SF3 character by now. Story stuff can be post DLC as well as anime cutscenes or pictures. Personally I wouldn't be less hyped if Gief was revealed. I'd be excited to see him on the new engine and what changes were made as well as the V Skill and V Trigger. Bison and Ken both got me hyped.
any idea when our next reveal is? for some reason I thought I saw somewhere that TGS would have 2 characters revealed.
Maybe at the Electronic Game Show in Mexico on October 2nd, but it's not guaranteed. We'll definitely get reveals at the Brazil Game Show on October 8th & at New York Comic Con on October 10th.any idea when our next reveal is? for some reason I thought I saw somewhere that TGS would have 2 characters revealed.
