Uncharted 2 PS4 Gameplay

One of the biggest problem with U3 for me was the lack of unlockable cheats. I must have played through U2 4 times and loved unlocking all the unlimited ammo cheats. I don't play online. So U3 really felt lacking in replay ability.

I also agree that the enemy swarms in U3 felt a bit tedious , and there were several weird difficulty spikes that threw off the pacing.

Still a good game though.

U1 - 8/10
U2 - 10/10
U3 - 9/10
 
I played all three Uncharted's last year on PS3 for the first time and platinumed all of them: Uncharted 3 in January/February, Uncharted 2 in March and Uncharted 1 in August/September.

Honestly, Uncharted 3 is my favourite. And Uncharted 1 is criminally underrated. I only played it last year, and yet, the graphics were amazing, particularly if I had playeed it in 2007. I mean damn, for its time, it must have been a fantastic game considering I still really enjoyed it just last year.

The ending with those creatures and WW2 submarine etc
was fascinating. Its gameplay was also still fantastic. Also, I noticed no screen tearing whatsoever, honestly, it's so weird. All the time people mention it being rough around the edges, but when I popped it in and played it last year, nothing stood out to me as major technical issues or tearing.

For me it goes:

Uncharted 1, 2, 3 = 10/10

And I love all of them in their own rights. I really liked how Uncharted 1 was grounded and stayed in one location.
 
Is there still no ambient occlusion in game?


Plenty in the pre rendered cutscenes but I cant tell if there is none in the gameplay videos or if they are just using something really subtle.

I played Uncharted 1 after 2 & 3 too and I absolutely loved it! The visuals are great and I didnt notice screen tearing at all too! I am very excited to play it again with all these enhancements!

How can you not notice it? In certain parts of the game there's just no way you can not notice it unless you aren't looking at the screen at all, lol.

Yep pretty much. Honestly, with the amount of crap spewed at it, you'd think it was a PS2 game or something. But on, it shocked me a lot. The graphics held up well, even in 2014 when I played it, and as a launch game, it must have melted eyes lol.
 
I also love the first Uncharted, and I think it was the first game that introduced me to screen tearing. It was horrid, and I usually don't care too much about that stuff.

After how solid Uncharted 2 was, playing the 3rd was a bit disappointing performance wise.

Honestly, I guess am. It's weird, when I watch videos on Youtube, specifically Digital Foundry videos or NX Gamer videos, and they point out the tearing, I can obviously see it. But when I'm playing on my 37" TV, I have never EVER noticed screen tearing. Frame rate drops? [Obviously] yes, but tearing? Never. Let's hope it stays that way :P

I rarely notice the 1-3 frame drops that some people on here do and I'm pretty happy about that. I'd be pretty pumped if I could eliminate screen tearing as well.

Yes photomode in all 3 games.

We should stress that you can toggle between all three games using a new option on each title's main menu, and the loading is practically non-existent when you switch. Bluepoint Games – the team behind the brilliant God of War and Shadow of the Colossus remasters – has been tasked with converting the titles to the PS4, and it's clear that it's been given ample budget to do the job properly. Even taking into account the absence of multiplayer, the whole package reeks of quality – and we've been asked not to discuss some of the very welcome extras at this time.

As you'd expect, the third game is definitely the best presented of the three, with some sequences indistinguishable from a native new-gen release. You'll be able to capture all of these moments on camera using the new photo mode, which we assume that we're not breaking our embargo terms by mentioning. This allows you to frame the action in any way that you see fit, while you can add post-processing effects for that extra bit of pretty if you wish. Every image that you see in this article was captured in-game using the handy tool.

GA cut because it's simply not part of the story arc of 1-3. Unsurprising and doesn't sound like there's any plans to bring it out on PS4 at a later date either.

Jetski part 1 on crushing is a pain, I'll give you that but Jetski part 2 (when you're going upriver) all you need to do is mash the blindfire button while you're moving and Elena will autoaim kill everybody along the way. Unless they changed it for the collection this should work.

Of course... that's crushing, it's possible Brutal might even change enemy placement (I hope it does but we'll see!)
 
Uncharted 1 is still my favorite. Loved the setting and crazy twist at the end.

Also i feel U1 had the best A.I.

so..U1 > U2 > U3

for the campaigns. When you include the multiplayer of U2 it comes out on top though (best part of the whole series IMO)

That praise needs to go to ND, and the effort they've invested into Uncharted games. Bluepoint ported the game to higher resolution and framerate [with some other enhancements].

Bluepoint did alot of work here even ND was surprise.

They didnt just up the resolution and framerate.

Definitely getting this collection, even though I've played 1 & 2 like 5 times each and 3 at least twice.

I agree after just skimming through the gamersyde videos. I was especially surprised at how good U1 is looking now. This is pretty much exactly what I had hoped for (and I thought I was hoping for too much).

Now the only thing that remains to make this collection perfect (for me) is some news on the tweaks/mods being available for Uncharted 3. I know skins are in for all 3 games, I'm talking about the other ones like the weapon select, infinite ammo etc that were in Uncharted 2 after you beat it. That was one of the biggest things missing from Uncharted 3's original release imo.

Yeah...I guess I didn't mean happy as in "10/10 happy" but just the IQ improvements etc would be good...but short of semi remaking the game ala Gears Ultimate etc this (and TLoUR) feels like how it should be done in principle etc.
 
I finished UN2 like 3 times. this thread made excited to beat UN3 for the second time since 2012
