Well since they got rid of lights linking into mediums, characters that seemed to easily get a combo from lights have been nerfed.

Yeah I agree. Her visual design is way over the top for me too. I can't believe I am saying this, but if they wanted to add a secondary Rekka character, I would rather it be dry ass Fei Long over Rolento, Poison, Elena and Yang.

Oil mechanic killed him. With oil he's THE best grappler in Ultra.
His oil is real but it is weird.

Can anybody in this thread (simsim?) give me a general idea of how much stun is toned down in the newer builds?

I think a USA/New York stage is pretty likely if we agree that the character art shows different sides/elements of stages that will be in the game. I speculated about the how and why's of this "shared stage theory" quite a few pages ago but since nobody seemed to have picked up on it then, I'll post it again.
My "shared stage theory", in short, is that all stages will be shared by 2 characters (or more later) and that they will fit both (at least on one side of them). I come to this speculative conclusion based on the official character art and what is shown in the background of them. Ryu and Karin's art, for instance, both show different parts of the Japan stage, as we now can see (Ryu = left side, Karin = right side). Vega and Cammy's art show the London stage. Bison and Necalli might show the same unrevealed stage based on the temple visible in both of their art (hidden, in Bison's case). Alex is likely to inhabit the New York stage shown in Ken's art. Etc etc.
In other words: I deem it highly likely that all the character art shows (A) which stages we can expect and (B) who will (eventually) be in the game to share them.
Here's my list of stage elements/parts (as grouped by characters that might fit a stage and by what is found in shown stages so far) again to help us speculate which stages we can expect and who goes into them:
Possible proof 1 of shared stage theory
- Cammy -> shows clock at a train station -> is found in the middle/right side of the London stage.
- Vega -> shows some glass windows, a half-round one in particular -> this seems to be the roof + left side of the London stage.
Possible proof 2 of shared stage theory
- Ryu -> shows an old Japanese temple with statue, Mt. Fuji and the moon -> all are present on the left side of the new Japan stage.
- Karin -> shows Japanese style bridge with moon and a building - all are present on the left side of the new Japan stage as well.
- Ibuki (due to the ninja on the left)?
Possible proof 3 of shared stage theory
- Bison -> shows a Bison statue, a honeycomb-like structure and what appears to be an Asian temple of sorts in front of the moon -> not found in any stage so far but I have a feeling it will connect to Necalli's stage due to the temple.
- Necalli -> shows a cliff side and an Asian looking (?) temple in the background -> not found in any stage yet but it could be linked to Bison's stage.
- Juri (assuming she will be hunting down Bison still)?
Incomplete pairings that might come to fruition (if we include likely DLC characters)
- Ken -> shows a street lined with New York-ish/Colonial style (?) office buildings and cars -> not seen in any stage yet.
- Alex?
- Chun-li -> shows a Chinese restaurant with columns and some neon signs -> is found on left side of the Bustling Side Street stage (China).
- Fei Long (going by the signs on the busses)?
- Yun/Yang?
- Nash -> shows those Egyptian looking Illuminati-ish statues -> they are found to the right of the Forgotten Waterfall stage in an inaccessible(?) section.
- Urien (Illuminati connection)?
- R. Mika -> shows wrestling ring with Japanese text -> not seen in any stage yet.
- Zangief/Alex?
- Birdie -> shows a tube station with a Colombian Roast logo -> not found on the London Stage despite the toilet on the left side being similar to Birdie's Alpha stage and him being English; maybe it will be featured in a new stage?
- Oro/Sean?
- Rashid -> shows a desert and Dubai-like city -> not found in any stage yet unfortunately.
- Urien (going by his 2nd impact stage)?
- Laura -> no art yet -> assumedly connected to Brazil stage with the tram, favellas and soccer statue on the mountain.
- Blanka/Sean?
- Zen -> no art yet -> perhaps connected to a new India stage?
- Dhalsim?

Fake edit: if anyone is able to add the character art I speak of, which I can't do on my device, that would be great. That way we can investigate them even more closely with this shared stage theory in mind to see who might go where.
