After searching that song, yeah. it's in, not a U2 fan so didn't pick up on it directly during the video

Well they were mentioned as on-disc artists so either the revealed setlist isn't actually final or the lead designer is wrong.

I can see it being a pull me under sorta thing similar to guitar hero world tour and they just not anoucing it at all

Or maybe it's an older interview and negotiations led to the removal of I Will Follow from the disc.

Either way, it sounds like we're getting U2 DLC this year.

I'll make a thread. U2's a big get, regardless of the general apathy for the band.

I mean U2 is also pretty massive. Maybe not as big as the band publicly known to have turned down both Activision and Harmonix on several occasions but they are still one of the biggest bands to have never been in a music game.

I imagine that would be a good way to ramp up hype for the last week of pre-orders. Put out a megaton announcement that gets mainstream coverage (like the USA Today story), with the game hitting shelves the following week. That reminds the general public that Rock Band is back, and without the risk of them forgetting about it before the game is even out.

had band set in my hands today at best buy. Had 2 Xbox One and 2 Ps4 band sets along with 2 guitars only sets one of each up in the back. Asked employe to get it down for me, got up front but rang up as a preorder so would not sell it.

The possibility of U2 is a pretty big get for Rock Band (whether you like them or not) and it does open up the possibility that the setlist isn't as final as we may have thought. Things could have changed and these songs may have been moved to DLC, but the wording of the tweet definitely indicates they may have more up their sleeve.

I believe it's just like the RB2/3 set with ports for two kick pedals, so you can just plug your old one in.

Interesting. I have the Beatles drums and only have one kick pedal port. Or maybe I have 2 and just remember using the dongle for a long time with my RB 1 drum set. It has been a few years since I drummed in the game.

The Beatles drums have 2 kick pedal ports + 3 for the cymbals - they are essentially the RB2 drums with a different paint job and the Beatles fake kick-drum facade. Because the first kick pedal port is positioned directly above the second port, when the kick pedal is plugged in the cable tends to hide the second port from view.

You know, that isn't one of my favorites of theirs. I know that is sacrilege to some.

If I could get just one song from them, it would be a live version of Bad.

I do wonder how weird it will be playing their songs on guitar because of all the effects that Edge uses when he plays, because sometimes he is not playing as many notes as you think you hear. And how weird will it be to turn on the effects switch on the guitar during the songs. Effects on top of effects.

I don't put it past Harmonix to chart some of those additional notes. I mean, look at the guitar chart for Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

There's an RBN song I like (The Permanent Rain by The Dangerous Summer) that uses delay effects but it's charted "correctly".

I know RBN songs aren't authored by Harmonix directly, but whatever they decide to do with U2 I'm sure it will be in the interest of fun.
