Pretty sure no fail mode is still in, we've seen it in action where people have dropped to red but never failed out numerous times.

Yes. But breakneck speed still affects everyone until the December patch comes.
Turn the crowd down? I use that to jukebox with RB3 and don't hear them, should be the same with RB4.

Has there been any word on if and when we will be able to buy a second RB4 guitar? Getting the band in the box bundle but obviously wanna have a second guitar so someone can play bass, or playing against friends.

I played a few times in June and was told that not only is there not a No Fail Mode this time out, there is no failing out at all. (which is like having no fail mode on all the time) the idea is to keep playing and get better- especially since there isn't a practice mode. I suppose if there's strong feedback, some options could be added in the future.

watching someone streaming it yesterday, you can definitely fail, and there is a no fail option to toggle on
I really hope whatever functionality is missing from RB3 is patched in ASAP (minus keyboards) because that is the gold standard for interface and control in the RB series, and if they take a step back that would be a huge disappointment
After no practice mode being there got confirmed, with how they seem to be making this game almost exclusively for the casual audience it's almost surprising that the Expert difficulty is still supported.
But I'll keep hoping that they'll patch in the essential options for the longtime hardcore players sooner or later, don't care that they're not all there on launch but we don't know if they'll even bother with these features that seemingly only people who post on message boards care about...
This is just a guess but I believe that the Xbox Marketplace stuff is region free, unlike PSN (which I know for sure). So any 360 code you get that's working should work on whatever account.

No practice mode and no individual breakneck speed lanes (yeah, I know this'll be patched in) is really shitty. Having to struggle through some songs without practice mode to help is going to be tedious. It sucks too because I know I'm still going to buy the game with every instrument. Hell, I bought an Xbone for Rock Band 4 once I read that the DLC was compatible.
At least people buying the game next year will get a better deal when everything has been added into the game.

I really think Harmonix isn't the worst around with making the game "casual". Rock Band 4 still has some really difficult songs and some songs/bands hardcore fans have been asking about for years. The only really casual thing they did is removing practice mode and online (and I'm willing to bet that both will be included in a patch further down the line).
Nothing as bad as Guitar Hero Live removing two buttons because "people had difficulty using their pinky".

So how are we getting the PS4 bonus songs available in the US? I guess the answer is fuck you, you get nothing, but maybe someone knows?
If there's no incentive to buy the game for 70 (with a higher profit margin compared to the retail version) I might as well wait till I see the retail version cheaper and invest the money in songs I really want...

Agreed, I think the setlist's pretty awesome and has quite a few challenging and fun songs. No keys and pro guitar is understandable but I'm really hoping they add in the other features that were in RB3 (and practice mode is in everything except GH1) sooner or later. It'll be pretty bare-bones on launch.
And yeah, after enjoying the previous GH games I have almost zero interest in GH Live right now.
They were saying the European PSN preorder would be coming soon but we still don't know anything... The game comes out in a week and PSN's updating today, if there's still no option to preorder there's not going to be one.

I really hope they get the RB4 drum cymbals our at launch. The FAQ claims they will be available at launch but other than that I haven't heard a word about them. Harmonix pls.

Okay I caved and went all in. Rock Band brought me the most fun last gen and I wanna be in there with RB4 day one (well, two or three, depending on amazon.de...). Initially I wanted to wait until I can use my Yamaha drumset, but fuck it, it's Rock Band.
Edit: so, for the gillionth time, RB1 and RBBlitz are the most convenient big legacy song packs I can get right now, right? Going from 360 to PS4.

Rumor has it that your old tracks will be available to download on Friday, but launch day is a safer estimate.

It seems like the resource for codes that EA support is using is totally separate from their regular 'insert keywords and here's your answer' system. I really had to convince the guy the codes were out there for him to go looking deep enough to find them. But he found them! And I got miiiiine

The Rock Band Twitter has been indicating that they won't make the launch date, but shortly after.

I ordered a $20 PSN card using best buy rewards. Arrives Thursday. I have a hunch if the DLC updates Friday, that's the day prices will rise.

Wouldn't Harmonix give us a heads up at least? I get paid on Friday just before the game launches so I'm doing like $50 with the Golden Crisp cereal code to get like 50 songs.

It's smart to get them early, but the folks are HMX are saying that they'll let us know ahead of time when DLC prices go back up.
I'm guessing this has been answered quite a few times but I can't seem to find the perfect answer 
I currently have the Rock Band 3 Pro drum kit by Mad Katz for Xbox 360. I'm guessing I need the adapter for this to work on Xbox One? Then I'm guessing it won't work straight out the box on PS4? I have access to both platforms but I'm not sure what I will need to buy to have the drums work on the next gen machines!

You would need an adapter for Xbox One (it won't work if it's an Ion set). If you had a PS3 drum kit, then that'll work fine on PS4 with no additional accessories, but if not, you would have to get a new drumset.

Amazon is estimating that I'll get my copy with the adapter in November. Um, does anyone know how limited that edition is going to be? Is Harmonix saying?
Is there any word on when we'll be able to buy drums separately? I only have RB1 drums and don't really wanna buy the band in the box as I have no interest in the guitar and am buying the game digitally.
If it's gonna be a while, is there a difference between the RB2 and Beatles drums?

Well I cancelled my PS4 Band in a Box preorder, and ordered the XB1 Band in a Box from Amazon. I have bought all of my 3rd party games on PS4 this gen which is why I had a PS4 copy ordered, but the loss of my RB1 and RB2 exports and DLC was enough to sway me to go Xbox.
