Rock Band 4 announced for PS4 and Xbox One

Does anyone know if there's going to be an RB store client on the game itself the way there was with past games?

I'm hoping that if there is, that will ease the pain of manually downloading all previously bought songs. At least that way there's a chance of just sorting through the RB store instead of navigating a monstrous purchase list on the PSN and picking out each song or bundle amid all the other DLC and digital game purchases.

Yes there is an in game store.

Is this how we assume it might work? I didn't even realize you could view 360 purchase history on x1.

Well, to be fair, you can't view your entire purchase history on the PS4 either, I was actually just thinking of looking on my PSN account on a web browser and then--presumably--scanning through the list of past purchases and then clicking on any RB songs I find and sending that to the "Download to PS4 Queue."

I actually hadn't given any thought to how we're supposed to find all of our past purchases beyond that.

Hey guys... apologies because I'm sure this has been asked a hundred times, but I gotta put you through it once more.

I heard it's still possible to export the old games' songs to RB4. Like, the RB2 codes have expired but people are reporting they still work...

What is this process like? I've only ever played Rock Band 1 and it wasn't a significant amount. If I buy new copies of RB1/2/3/expansions will I be able to import the all the songs into RB4? How exactly do I do it?

Check this post:

I'm going to repost FyreWulff's post as it contains lots of good information to help you out here.

How is it possible that so many of you have had RB1 and 2 for years and not done the export yet? I'm fairly certain that I did the exports the day they went live for every release. It's completely baffling to me how this question comes up so much unless all of these people got into the game way later.

Lots of people switching platforms

Most of the people asking haven't had these games for years without exporting. They're mostly people who either a) did not have the games in question before but want the exports now because they're interested in RB4, or b) people who are switching consoles and can't take their exports with them.

So I'm guessing no word on rb3 export yet?

I expect that RB3 export is going to be dependent on sales (since it won't be cheap), and as such we won't hear about it definitively until after launch.

That's the safest bet. But they've moved from a position of "No, there's no export" to "We're looking into it" over the time since Rock Band 4 has been announced, so that's a good sign probably.

Edit: This GameGrumps stream has already convinced me that freestyle solos are going off and staying off forever.

I will likely keep them on when I'm playing guitar (solo) and turn them off for parties.

It's gonna be kinda like drum fills in that my friends that play on lower difficulties generally do not know how to construct one and when they hit the OD activation freeform it sounds like garbage and throws off everyone's timing, but I leave them on for the one guy that actually plays drums. ;)

I'll probably have it easier with friends, I'm the only one that plays expert guitar.

I might flick freestyle on during something like Dream Genie which is all crazy nonsense anyway.

Freestyle sounds good, if you know what you're doing. The intention is that the high end of the neck is meant to be strummed at 2x beat, the low end at 4x. So ideally, it shouldn't just be mindless shredding. I kind of liked what I played of it, felt like an actual innovation on the core formula.

Sourced an Xbox 360 Wireless drum set at goodwill today for $10.. Can't believe they had one, and it works, it's amazing.. I'm gonna be doing this mod for my ions:

Already extracted the controller brain and the wires are primed, just need to get the 1/4" adapters and other cables and I should be set.

The great thing about this mod is once all the heavy lifting is done, you can also make PS3 and Wii brains for your Ions if you can locate cheap drumkits for those

I thought they switched to updating the UK PSN Store on Tuesdays but it looks like it's still on Wednesdays. So there's still hope the RB4 digital pre order might go up today but if it doesn't it's probably not happening...

So, uh, no setlists in Quickplay, that's a fairly big disappointment. I didn't use them much outside of Career, but it seems like so simple a thing for the series.

I don't mind having to download individual songs, though. That means I can delete individual songs that are redundant or are never gonna get played (I'm looking at you, "You're Gonna Hear From Me").

I'm a little fuzzy on this now. So in quickplay I can only queue up one song at a time? So what about Shows? Can't we queue up multiple songs in that or does it have a limit?

Edit: Or do you mean no pre-built custom setlists? If that then I don't think its that big a loss.

I don't mind the downloading as long as I can sort the store by purchased songs. I don't want to go through thousands of songs hunting the ones I own.

You can't queue up setlists in Quickplay. You can't even play albums as a setlist, you have to go back to the song select after each song, even though the game still orders by album.

I think you might be able to queue up multiple songs for Shows, though.

Rock Band 4 isn't mentioned in the "New on PlayStation Store" blog post so it's not looking like a digital pre order and the free songs will be available for European PS4 players... Disappointing but hardly surprising.

About to drop a cool $70 on DLC.
I feel disgusted in myself, yet so excited.

Do we know when the prices revert back from being a dollar?

Googled. Seems that all pre rb3 dlc has been a dollar since 2012. Do we have any reason to think theyll raise it?

Just got excited for no reason, got an e-mail saying my order had been upgraded to release date delivery, but it turned out to be for a Manos: The Hands of Fate Blu-Ray and not the RB4 adapter...

They've said that they will raise it eventually. We don't know when, only that they'll let us know ahead of time.

They said they were "working on it" when I tweeted them a couple of days ago, but I can't see them bothering with only six days until launch. I just went with Amazon UK, even though there is no mention of the Amazon bonus song. Basically in the UK, pre-order on Xbox or get shit all.

If they don't get the pre-order sorted they should either give away the pack for free in Europe (which ain't happening) or release the ten tracks in a pack at launch.

I have been completely out of the loop for Rock Band 4 since I had decided not get the game. But when the U2 announcement was made, I kind of flipped out and am definitely getting the game now.

I owned Rock Band 1 & 2 on 360, still have the same GamerTag on Xbox Live as I do now, what do I need to do to get all the songs I bought in those games and have them available in Rock Band 4? I went to their website, but little to no information on what I need to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
