it doesnt look smooth enough to be skin, based on how all the other characters look
reminds me of the way these effects are shaded. really sharp

Thing is the red thing is very solid for it to be like the effects from the CHun image.

I think both threads are bad in thier own ways. I'm not complaining since it's fun to follow people's opinions in the threads. At long they are not being rude about it.
But my point still stands, the only characters who have been teased on Ono's Twitter for Street Fighter V were either veterans who weren't in SFIV or newcomers. And in Birdie's defense, a magazine leaked him by the time that teaser came out.

If I were to elaborate, the effects in the Ken and Chun image look 'transparent'
However the red thing in the image is opaque and more solid.
Then again it is a picture taken with a phone camera, so you can't exactly tell if it's the power up/aura effects or not.
the pink/red stuff could definitely be part of an ink effect, I agree with you. hard to say what it actually is, but it makes sense.
speaking of ink effects, alex's would look hot if he gets red/green.

I think you're mostly fooling yourself. You're creating rules which align with your own existing end goal.
It wouldn't be the first time that Ono teased new characters in unannounced stages (Rashid was teased in the Brazilian stage). This is probably Rainbow Mika's stage.
How am I fooling myself? Did Ono tease Cammy, Ken, or Vega? Let me answer that for you, no. Anyone can see the pattern at this point.

My point is that the stage doesn't always correlating with the character when it comes to teasers. I probably should have made that more clear in my original post.

All we actually concretely know about Laura is that her name is Laura.
Everything else has been speculation with varying degrees of support behind it.
We gotta keep that in mind here more often: Our reasonings behind the speculation might sound great to us, but they're still based in hypothetical way more than they aren't. And so we gotta allow for possibilities we might not like to get some play, as well.
For me, that would be the idea that Gief is in the game. I don't know that I want Gief in the game. But it's still possible that he's made a super-obvious Gief tease. Maybe it's not as probable as some would like to believe, and maybe it's not as impossible as others want to make it sound. But I don't think it can be ruled out.
Just like I don't think you can rule out the possibility this could be either Laura or Zen's stage.

The ring could be the second part of the brazil stage.
The fact that Ono doesn't tease characters who were already in SFIV. Ono teased Birdie but not Cammy. Ono teased Necalli but not Ken. Ono teased Rainbow Mika but not Vega. Then Ono went on to tease Rashid & Karin.

He did a wake-up Shoryuken 5 times now & wasn't punished. Clearly there's a pattern that the opponent isn't countering, so the next one will most likely land.
There's obvious pattern and somewhat set of 'rules' for these teases that you seem content on trying to prove wrong. So yeah, I think you are.
Ono releases a tease that clearly is meant to make people think of Gief. Ono likes to troll and throw people off (see: 90% of his other teases) and it makes more sense that this picture deconfirms Gief than it does confirm him.
