Haggar is not the original grappler. In Final Fight he did not really have a command grab. He wasn't even in a fighting game!

And Zangief copied the lariat, but Haggar copied his spinning pile driver, so Haggar is the grappling copycat.

Hugo is ok, but I dislike his weird normals. Prefer the solid ones that Zangief has.

Well, that's assuming Zangief keeps his normals. In the trailer he seems very oriented to slow normals with super armor or something. We'll see.

I like zangief, i am excited he is in. He looks even bigger, bulkier than in sfiv, i am not sure i like tht but he looks cool anyway. His moveset looks redesigned, i hope verperarcade does a breakdown soon enough.

I was always pushing more for Alex/Urien as DLC. Or actually, that Urien would be the unplayable boss that becomes playable in a month or so.

But it really does seem that by "classic," what Dahlgren meant was Street Fighter II. So there's one more character from SFII left to go, probably.

Which of those six do we think has the best shot? Do we really think it's Dhalsim?

I'm still pulling for Boxer, partially because we don't seem to have one of those (although I'm hoping Laura is MMA, which should incorporate some of those elements) and partially because the entire currency of the game is based on his catchphrase.

I think it has to be Sim at this point unless they throw a wild card our way. I feel (hope) we are going to hear about DLC soon as there's potential that the rest of the roster will be revealed before the month is over.
 
I get that Gief being in disproves the theory that Alex is in the main roster but I'm convinced he's in the first wave of DLC

Would they really announce Dhalsim at NYCC? God, I can just imagine the salt.

I hope so man, also we need a 3s rep in the starting roster I mean my goodness. I thought Juri was a sure thing as the lonely sf4 rep.

Laura is getting announced next week.
 
IMHO Alex will be day one DLC.

Urien is the final boss.

Who may or may not count towards the 16 characters, and may or may not be DLC.

Also lol @ Alex day 1 dlc, you'll get Urien if he's the true boss of this game or Akuma, not some character that's unknown to 95% of the people who played sf2 and 4.
 
Ken Bogard was so accurate up until now, too. Damn, I was really looking forward to Urien & Alex, too. On the bright side, this throws everything out the window so there's still hope for Q.

I love Zangief and will play as him so this makes me happy

I love Alex and would have much more wanted to play as him so this makes me sad

Zangief looks great on top of already liking him, so this makes me happy

Zangief likely means Dhalsim, my least favorite character in the history of Street Fighter, so this makes me sad

Also, to the people saying "RIP Siliconera", that is pretty silly considering they never mentioned anything about the starting roster and Siliconera is very consistent with recent leaks and rumors. Nothing about this suggests they were wrong, and there is still a very high chance they are in the game as early DLC

Also anyone saying Gief looks the same is crazy

He looks totally different gameplay wise than in SF4 and honestly I think he looks like a lot of fun but also I am a whore for grapplers

If Alex & Urien were leaked to be DLC, Siliconera would have said so. They got half of their info wrong, plain & simple.

3 characters in one month? I doubt it. I expect the beta release date and maybe some online modes.
 
This is a byproduct of the ala cart roster. They are gonna cram all the characters that won't sell in the base game. It's anti hype but good business.

I was expecting Zangief. I'm just disappointed that Capcom couldn't have been bothered to change a single thing about him.

EDIT: I mean they didn't change his visual design at all. Yes, I know he has a few new moves.
