A lot of people in this thread honestly believe this, it's amazing. Of course how strong the character is would directly affect their sales but on an even ground Gief would slaughter them.

Actually can I propose something? Can you just stop parroting everything you heard? Also please stop pushing all of your facts and information upon us when we are here to speculating for fun. You really kill some of our hype by politically correcting us with our speculation. Just you did with Zangief and other characters.
It's really hype-killer when you kept telling people that they are wrong and acting like you know everything. I promise you that I'm not only one that are annoyed by your post styles. I'm fine with you speculating with us and share the same passions with us about the game, at long you don't act like Mr. Know-It-All and ruin the fun for some of us.
That's why I dread to share the hype with you for Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 because you are going to correct most of our posts when we are going to talk about X-Men and Fantastic Four characters. It would be like, "Hey Marvel is not going to add those characters because they have issues with Fox, blah blah blah" every time someone brought up Wolverine, Doctor Doom, etc. That would kill some of our hype for MVC4 if you are going to do that. If you don't agree with our characters speculations, please don't push your information into us because we just mentioned them so that don't meant we are clueless about it. We just want to see those characters coming back.

Guys the last returning character is AKuma. It will be surprising if not. He's been like every Street Fighter game since ST.
Because he's just another SFII character we've seen a gazillion times. Definitely not the show-stopper that you'd expect this late in the reveal game.
Akuma is a character you would want out as DLC, he's the type everyone would unlock.... I'm better Urien is boss and the first DLC with Akuma being secret boss and being the second DLC....

I think the last veteran is going to be either Juri or Guile. Guile would make a lot of sense as a NYCC reveal, and Juri was the only SF4 newcomer in the US (and worldwide) Top 10 of that 2013 popularity poll. Out of the two I really hope it's Juri. Though if they overhaul Guile as much as they've changed Zangief in V, maybe his reveal will be cooler than I'm dreading.

His v-skill absorbs 1 hit, I think he still has the lariat (which will likely still be projectile invincible), and he has a headbutt that nullifies projectiles. Seems like quite a few options to me.

The thing is 3S character fans are hardcore Street Fighter fans by default who were going to pick up V anyway. Gief is in to attract casual fans as they would more likely recognize that character. So Alex makes more sense as a character people would pay extra for.

I don't think zoning will work very well in this game, but they could also change him to deal with that.
I don't know, I can't believe the Gief/Sim leak that easily. Guile, in my mind, would make more sense especially because of the story. I don't have any idea how they could fit Sim (and Gief, for that matter) in the story.
If it's either Sim or Guile, to me, it's irrelevant. Neither of them are Juri =(

I remember Snake Eyes saying he loved Birdie so much at E3 that even if Gief came back, he'd still stick to Birdie. I wonder if that will change.

That's the thing: Gief/Sim was never a leak. The whole pairing concept, much less the pairing of those two specifically, was 100% a fan-made construction.
Just because Gief is in doesn't mean Sim is automatically coming. The two aren't chained together. Not to say Sim couldn't be coming - as people have pointed out, a keepaway character is also a big hole in the game so far, and he's a very well known keepaway character.
But the Gief/Sim speculation has always been just that: Speculation. The pairing is a fan creation.

SF4 did have hidden Gouken and Akuma... so who knows. Also from the intereviews they've pretty much said the first DLC character will be coming very fast after launch.
We only have room for one more veteran. That is, unless they want to reveal DLC now.

There might be patterns and such, and probabilities and likelihoods - but they're still just GUESSES. People are catching feelings because they don't want to believe the support for their guesses isn't as strong as they'd like them to be.

I think they were putting in Alpha peeps that hadn't been in SF4. The Alpha series was way more popular than the SF3 series, at least back then.
Only Alpha person not in newer games is Sodom I think. Well, that and the Cammy clones, and the people the later re-releases games added, like on PSP.
