Is it weird that I just don't feel anything with this one? With previous mass shootings I was shocked but now they're just a regular thing. Its ridiculous. It's pretty terrible that something like this is a 'regular' occurrence now.

Has someone done this before? I know it's got to be heavily slanted toward gun violence, but i'm interested in just how slanted it would be.
The largest terror event in U.S. history claimed less lives than a single year of gun violence. It's not even going to be close.

Fuck another mass shooting. What a nightmare. I hope the US one day gets out of this pathological inability to regulate guns.

Trump says it's a mental health issue, he's right.

Obama says he need to fix the gun laws, he's right.

What is going on here?

Its funny how the idea of politicizing an issue is inherently negative, as if that's not the process by which societal change is actually enacted. Its the tool by which the citizenry affects change. And millions of us think the first step in that process is automatically a negative.

This is how we remain inert.

He made no mention of the Chicago recent weekend shootings. As far as I'm concerned those are mass shootings too. Just spread over a weekend.

You could tell he is shaken and fucking pissed.

If he were to make a speech every time a mass shooting occurs, he'd be doing one every day for this year.

It feels really awful to type that out, but it's the truth.

But you need to be scared of the scary brown people that are just behind every corner that are going to target average joes and janes in white suburban america, We need to ignore home grown violence and focus money, energy and effort into brown people.

This will rattle the gun nutters into an ammo and weapon buying frenzy.

Thank God I bought a whole bunch of ammo just yesterday. Will probably buy a gun or two before people start panicking and buying up everything. I don't want to pay extra because of all the "Obama coming for your guns, so hide yo kids hide yo wife!" people.

In the wake of this event, people are overcome with emotion. Both sides are eager to put the blame on something, but no one wants to agree.

CNN reporting the shooter had 3 handguns and 1 long gun. He isnt 21 so he can't legally purchase handguns. Will be interesting to see where he got them from. Wonder if it is a Columbine case where they got them at gun shows?

From an FFL.

He can purchase them from a 3rd party or receive them as a gift.

That said, he couldn't legally buy ammunition for a handgun.

One is actually interested in providing avenues to fix both problems. The other is just deflecting. Ill leave it up to you to decide who is who.

If he really is from 4chan, I'd say it's virtually guaranteed he lived with his parents. That may answer the question.

My thoughts go out to the families of all involved. RIP.

I have no idea what the solution is but there needs to be a better support system for people with mental illnesses in the USA.

Then again, no amount of care and precaution will stop some fucked up people. Tragic.

Just below that is a chart that makes me feel like I'm back in the Planned Parenthood nonsense y-axis thread.

More people die from an unpreventable fatal disease so I guess politically speaking there's no point to gun control I guess?

At least Google is working on the car fatalities one.

I think you may be one of these people actually. You're scrambling to buy more guns because others might as well. Sounds a bit panicked too.
