Rock Band 4 announced for PS4 and Xbox One

Just got the email .. confirmation of release day delivery.

Alright, I have read through the last few pages of this thread and I am confused as all hell. I have the Band In The Box bundle preordered for Xbox One. I have all the Rock Band games for Xbox 360. How do I get RB1, RB2 and RB3 songs into Rock Band 4? I want to be all prepared for Tuesday. Excited to play a new Rock Band again, been too long.

Really the only unobtainables right now as a whole are unlisted DLC, RB2 bonus tracks, and Lego Rock Band.

I had the 20 bonus tracks, but I honestly don't even remember if I liked playing any of them so I'm not sure it would be a huge loss. I'm assuming we don't know enough about RB3's possible export to know if we would need the disc and access to a last gen console? Also is Hysteria still available? I had it on 360 and obviously loved it, would like to know if it is still available for purchase if I went the PS4 route.

RB3 disc songs aren't exporting right now. They might get them exported in the future, but for now, no.

For the older games, you don't do anything special to get the previous exports, so long as you've exported them in the old games. Whatever you exported to your DLC library will carry over.

The way it seems this will work is that they'll post the disc exports as packs that you can download in RB4 because you bought the 360 export.

Hysteria is available as normal DLC.
In Europe it was part of the RB disc however did not export with the other European exclusive songs. At some point harmonix allowed any European to say they own RB1 and get a free export code.
I had a European account at the time and it said I played Rock band with it so they gave me a code for it as well which I redeemed on my NA account.

How were you able to get a PSN code from another region to work on a NA account? I vaguely remember people having to download dlc on the proper region account and then switch to their normal one since any downloaded content would show up, but I'd be interested in hearing another workaround.
 
So I decided to randomly check if the DLC was up on the Xbox store through the console, aaaaand it seems to be there! I'm not sure if all my purchases are registering though. Maybe I didn't buy as many packs as I originally thought.
 
Current gen versions of old DLC are back to normal prices. I wonder if last gen versions of them will raise back up soon. I need to spend my $90 of Xbox credit tonight!!!

Personally I would be upset without Magnetic Baby, "I'm Gone, I'm Going",I wanna be your man, and "Songs and Daughters"

Also with how much better support 360 got over PS3 on Rock Band I went with that console when I switched from Wii (glad I switched right after RB2 and was able to get every TP and export)

They've been using Xbox One instruments at every event except when the game was FIRST shown off so there's hope for that too...

But overall, go with what you care about more. achievements vs trophies, what the community is favoring, what systems your friends have (not that this matters if you take entire system cause of DLC library).
Weigh everything together cause there's no pain like having to buy X amount of songs again and losing out on ones you have that can never be got again.

The code was Region Free :D

I can confirm that old dlc is showing up on the Xbox store. I'm gonna start downloading and see what I run into.
 
I think Harmonix must have gone all out on radio advertisements. At work they play the local classic rock station and they had the dj talk about it every break and had a longer feature run down every 2 or 3 hours.

Weird to hear a game advertised on the radio but it makes sense for rock band. I think they aimed it at the wrong demographic though.

Just checked the smart glass app and it is there but I would still use the web store by far compared. it to the console, because Xbox one kicks you back to the main dash after every single download is selected


Also prices are back to normal on X1. Not sure on 360
 
Ok it seems when you click on a track pack that you know you own, you gotta click on the songs it shows inside the pack individually to download it. The pack has a price on it, but the songs inside are free.

Search RB4 on the store on the Xbox One, and it should show it all.
 
Only song it's letting me install is Tom Sawyer (original version) - Rush
None of the other songs I own are showing up as downloadable.

That's actually pretty badass. Means I can skip songs I didn't like in certain packs.

The question I should have asked is are the RB1 and RB2 songs up for those that exported? I honestly didn't own that much DLC, but I've looked at my Microsoft account and there is nothing listed under my purchases from like before 2011 for some reason so I don't even have that to go by.

So is anyone else seeing songs that should be free but aren't? The only two I've been able to get to work have been the two I came across in the store outside of the packs.

Everything should be working fine once Harmonix officially announces that the old DLC is up (which should be tomorrow or this weekend). Right now it's getting updated sporadically.

Yeah, thinking I might just wait til launch to download more. I went through what was up and downloaded everything I remembered owning before, but also found a ton of stuff I should have gotten over the years but forgot about. Or I listened to more of that artist and love the song now.

So the 360 versions are cheaper still? Might have to binge on it this weekend to exploit that.
