Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

Yeah, I'm sure he'll be in eventually, but with so many characters similar in archetype, I wonder when.

Urien will probably be first. I'm stuck on the idea of this game as episodic, working characters in with the story, so if they're handling BIson/Fall of shadoloo first, they'd work up to the 3s timeline and Alex, etc. #purefanfiction

That's what I'm thinking, although if the core game story is about Shadaloo, I'm guessing Guile will likely be the last classic character in the base roster or first DLC.

I think we can all agree this english voice is ass though. Reminds me of Laura Bailey's effort in SFV. Hopefully the jpn voice is better.

They've already made it clear that the base game includes 16 characters at launch and people seem okay with that. Would it somehow be worse to have the option of buying/earning one more?

I know, I know, it's an insult to the consumer. If the character is ready, why isn't it included in the base game? But again, most people seem fine with 16 characters for 60 dollars. Despite all the bitching that fills the roster thread, nobody is claiming the base game is a poor value.

Its not really fair and I wish people wouldn't think this way.

The DLC content is made with a separate budget which has its own revenue. Just because it is made in advance and sold through out the games lifespan. It doesn't diminish the work done by the people who made it and the funds allocated towards its development.

Judge the $60 game by what IT contains not what it COULD have contained.

A Day 1 DLC character would suck so much.

It would be dumb business for them to be sitting on their hands instead of developing DLC characters already. There are different stages to character development and surely the early design stages of the 16 core characters are completed. So why not put the concept artists and base modelers to work? If they don't have one ready to go day one, they surely will have one soon after.

They also have ways to earn the character by playing, so what difference does it make it they release the character day one or sit on it for a few weeks?

I guess it comes down to people getting hung-up on the day one stigma when that's mostly irrelevant.

I understand, but it's something that can be sensationalized for a quick headline. Then the games media will want Capcom to address it, and no matter what answer they give it won't be acceptable.

It's just smarter marketing to maybe announce upcoming DLC characters at launch (whether they are done or not) and avoid the shitstorm entirely.

This... DLC content helps keep programmers and 3d artists to be emplyed and have things to work on while the planning stages for the sequel/next project is done.

I mean we have seen this situation in gaming so many times, where Company lays off people when a Project is done and then goes on a hiring spree once a project starts.

Yup its their job , they get money by quick clicks not well written articles.

Its better for the company to just hide , instead of media twisting their actions.

All our pains were in vain, Its quite regrettable... We'll do what we can for visiting to @BrasilGameShow in tomorrow http://p.twipple.jp/OLr9w

goddamn we actually broke Ono

Damn that Blanka outfit , He was gonna troll all the way to the end huh?

Maybe we'll get a tease for Zen , since Laura is out anyway.

I want it to be Guile personally

Sim would be ok tho. I've always liked him but I didn't really enjoy using him in SFIV, so I'll definitely try him out if he's in SFV

Laura definitely looks the most interesting so far of the new characters. Honestly i was a little confused if there was alot of hit grabs going on or what, I really need to see her in action to understand whats going on, hope she has some interesting normals.

Also for Ono's sadness I say good rindance since he has given me plenty of profound sadness

This is all a setup. Blanka will be shown off.

In story mode Laura and Blanka fall in love, but sadly Blanka can't come to terms with such a wonderful women falling in love with him so he goes around the world street fighting for money and drugs. Laura decides that she must learn BJJ to beat her true love Blanka to make him come to his senses. At the end you find out Blanka and Laura got married and had a baby.

Thought of something about the second beta and posted it in the other thread but it got ignored. Figured I'd post it here:

The fact we can use Fight Money to buy the Kanzuki estate probably implies that we'll be getting DLC stages, right?

The Baby is DLC.

I mean, I would hope so. There's probably only gonna be like 8-10 stages at launch, I'm guessing, Even with weather and time of day and transitions, that'd get old after like a year.

DLC stages are def a good thing for the game. Gives them a way to produce more than they normally would, and unlike costume DLC, anyone can use the stages.

I hope everyone goes along with him just for support. Even though everything already got leaked.

I hope the crowd just errupts for him as if nothing got leaked.

Poor ono ;__;

Nah, it's just gonna be sim.

Please let Laura be a charge character.

I don't think you actually know that unless you were lying about having inside information. We'll see soon enough though.

Why is WB involved? And yeah I mean I understand why it sucks for him but he's just upset because he wasn't able to troll everyone into thinking it was gonna be a Blanka reveal. Everyone's hyped on Laura regardless, essentially what was lost was made up in pre-additional hype.

WB is the distributor in that area. I'm sure he wanted to troll everyone, but in all seriousness he was trying to hype the event with his partners too so I think there is more too it than that. That being said I think for the most part she's been well received so I don't think it's really an issue outside of just this event.

Considering this game is going to be a long, drawn out process for DLC, a Day 1 DLC character would hurt them in the long run. It's good for them to have some kind of buffer for DLC and not blow a lot of their wad at once.
