I'm pretty sure that scene depicts that Poe just thinks he is a random resistance fighter and cheering him on, whil finn recognizes him while he was in his storm trooper suit when they first met

To me it looks like a big fight is about to ensue and they both just understand the gravity of the situation.

I'm calling a "Story by George Lucas" credit at the end of this movie. This is based on loose info I have and the fact that Arndt is still credited for Screenplay.

pretty much the way I looked at it too since you can see people behind finn at the end putting on their gear getting ready for the shit to hit the fan

As with pretty much every other teaser of a trailer this one one didn't really do much for me though I did like the camera work shown. It does suggest a visually more interesting experience than what I remember from the prequels.

Ok so Empire was defeated. I'm assuming the various systems began to govern themselves without imperial rule. Why does the rebellion still seemingly exist? I realize all this will likely be addressed to some extent in the film's opening crawl but I'm curious if some star wars material outside the films has addressed what is happening after Jedi.

Think they said BB8 was a she in an interview a while back.
...really? I wouldn't mind, I just don't remember this.

Depends what erotic fan fan fiction you read. ;)
Haha, I can only imagine.

I think in the other films characters use "he" and "him" to refer to C-3PO and R2. So even though they're droids people use gender specific pronouns.
True, but I always thought "he" was in a similar sense to referring to most gender neutral things as such because we men like to make sure people are thinking about us all the time. Regardless, would be fine either way, just wasn't sure if an official source had called BB-8 a "she".

Think new republic and neo nazi like forces that have gathered the remaining empire.

Is Luke Skywalker going to play a very minor role in the new trilogy? I hope they show how powerful he's become.

This is going to be the biggest complaint coming out of VII

Star Wars Aftermath goes into this a bit. The New Republic is formed after Jedi. Why they become the Resistance 30 or so years later isn't clear.

Power vacuum?

It's a trailer for a trailer

I'm not even gonna watch it.

This is honestly my favorite shot from the teasers. I don't know if it's the color grading, or what, but it looks straight out of 70s films in general or the OT.

Agreed, there's a different feel to this shot that just makes it feel 'classic'. Probaby the film grain look or something.

So what approximate time (UTC) can we expect this to show on American TV/youtube? Guessing it's going to occur between 1AM - 5 AM Australian time :(

Once you wake up to see the trailer the rest of the world will have had some hours of fantastic excitement but then moved on.

Australia will only feel a faint echo of the super-nova euphoric hype the rest of us will experience.

Poor WWE, they had enough problems without competing with a Star Wars trailer.

God, you just know Vince called up Disney personally to try to get Star Wars into Raw ala Terminator and was shut down completely. Hornswoggle as Yoda, everyone wearing random bits of costume to the ring, Divas in Leia bikinis, Undertaker throwing force lightning, C3PO as general manager, Jawas interfering, Chewie coming in to save Cena. You can imagine the Disney exec laughing at Vince's carny ass down the phone.

That said, nice to see the Shockmaster making an appearance in Ep VII as Captain Phasma.
