Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition - Before & After Changes

did anyone coop a completion for the original experience?

wondering how this would go with a friend

The biggest issue is time. It's a long game to coop through.

But aside from that it's a great coop experience. I only played through half of the game with my brother though, we ended up finishing it separately.

Played entirely in co-op with one of my best friends. The one caveat is that whoever you're playing with, you have to be simulatneously available a lot because it is huge. If you meet that requirement, I cannot think of a finer game to co-op with a friend for a hundred hours.

So, I own my OS X version of the "old" game
I should be able to upgrade it on my Mac? and other platforms, like PS4?

You'll get a free copy of the EE on whatever platform you own vanilla. Though from the sounds of it the Mac and Linux versions of the EE are still a few weeks out.

Should I buy this or Wasteland?

I feel like playing an old school rpg on my ps4.

(Sorry if this as been answered elsewhere- on my phone).

I have a feeling this will be a way better choice going by the lukewarm response to Wasteland 2 DC and the fact Divinity was already a very, VERY well received game.

This has more room for dropping though with Wastleand 2 debuting at $40. I also think being fantasy may technically count as more fully old school.
Would need random sci fi elements/twists to be fully old school though.

They are both excellent games, but I'd say that Divinity is the better of the two. I've also heard a few people mention that the PS4 version of Wasteland is pretty buggy at the moment (though that will get patched I'm sure).

Thanks! Will definitely consider this then - I haven't been following any of the games. They both seems great, but will only have time to play one at the moment. Divinity seems like a great choice.

Having played both, this is better than Wasteland, no question for me.

As mentioned Divinity is a safer bet seemingly as Wasteland 2 on PS4 has many reports of serious bugs and performance issues as you progress further into the game. I've been hooked on Wasteland 2 the last several days regardless(~6 hours in), but am early enough in that no major issues have cropped up yet(outside of quirkiness with the UI and occasional pause delays for actions). I will put it down for Divinity in wait for a patch next week however.

Wasteland 2 is extremely enjoyable though and really captures the enjoyment of structuring a team around harsh limitations and skill progression decisions that I adore about these types of experiences. Wasteland strikes a nice balance between delivering a harsh post-apocalyptic setting yet having lots of oddball characters and general goofiness to keep it from feeling oppressively sullen.

Get Divinity. Wasteland is a very poor port right now. From the vids it seems Larian has put some effort with Divinity's port.

So, I never got around to finish Original Sin despite playing it for 30 hours or so. Think it's worth to start again when this one is released or continue the other one?
(I'm probably incredibly rusty with the combat system and everything so there's that to consider as well).

Start over. It won't be long now.

The enhancements will make it more than worth replaying some bits.

Divinity. It's not even a contest.

Have they properly rebalanced classes? Cause in the first version you got punished for using anything other then 4 wizards, cause of how OP environment effects were.

Regardless, it's been some time since I played it. Going to pick it up on console this time around though.

Pre loaded on XB1 and ready to go. As excited as I am for Halo 5, I'm more excited for this despite owning it on Steam. The thought of co oping it with friends has me so giddy.

I dunno, I didn't have much trouble with two wizardy classes as well as the NPC warrior and my own archer/ranger.

I want to play through this game, but I don't know if it'll be right for me. I've never been a big tactical gamer, and also worry about its difficulty. Nor do I have 75 hours to devote to it.

Those Tactician mode changes sound great. If the AI is actually smarter like that, I wonder how dumb it'll be in classic mode.
Better gameplay, worse writing.

DOSEE was rewritten, though, so that isn't set in stone. Pillars certainly had more focused writing, but I wouldn't call it great; the story could definitely have been handled better.

The thing that really sets DOS apart from its competitors is the combat engine, with environmental interaction at it's core. The entire game is built around it, and everything takes full advantage of the possibilities. The best part is, with the EE, it will only be getting better.

Another big difference is that DOS is designed for co-op from the ground-up, with Pillars being a strictly solo affair.

How does this compare to Pillars of Eternity?

Pillars is as old school as they come, if you want a true Infinity Engine experience with amazing writing and characters then get that. Divinity had childish writing but fun gameplay nonetheless, it's still one of the best cRPG's recently made.

How does this compare to Pillars of Eternity?

Vanilla wise, I liked Pillars of Eternity more overall although Original Sin had better moment-to-moment gameplay. The enhanced Edition though seems pretty focused on addressing the weak spots from the original though and it wouldn't take much for me to put it over PoE.

Also if you have a strong preference of real time with pause over turn based combat systems then PoE would definitely be better suited.

How does this compare to Pillars of Eternity?

On the gameplay front Divinity: Original Sin is undoubtedly the better game. Its turn-based combat is simply amazing while the RTwP combat of Pillars is serviceable but nothing special. Pillars does better when it comes to writing and world-building but I find it to be inconsistent at times. There are also too many loredumps to my liking. Divinity carries a more light-hearted tone and relies more on humour. Both games have an equally bad story. For me Divinity gets away with it because the focus is so heavily on gameplay and interactivity, Pillars doesn't because it's supposed to be a story-heavy cRPG.

I very much prefer Divinity to Pillars and I'm really looking forward to tuesday.

I definitely enjoyed my time with DOS more than Pillars, but Pillars was still a solid game. I also wouldn't say DOS writing is wholesale worse than Pillars, the overall story is kind of whatever (but Pillars kinda left me with that feeling towards the end as well), but the character dialogue is fun in a campy, charming way
