Halo 5 Multiplayer Coverage! (no campaign spoilers)

sorry if this is a stupid question but is the multiplayer in anyway connected to the campaign?
i'm new to halo (only on the 2nd game right now) but i'm thinking of getting Halo 5 as soon as it's out and just playing online (i don't bother playing online in MCC) until i get through 2,3, and 4.
by this i mean do i need to play the campaign to a certain point or is multiplayer unlocked straight away. and are there any character's/maps that are shared between the campaign/multiplayer?

I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to old school Halo after this. Halo 5 reminds me of the intense rides at Magic Mountain whereas MCC reminds me of the teacups at Disneyland.
You don't need to unlock anything. Everything is availble from the get go. And I haven't run into any multiplayer maps taken from the campaign (i'm about 90% done with the campaign for Halo 5). Characters have nothing to do with multiplayer as well.

No you don't need to play campaign until a certain point.

He'll still get to play earlier than everyone else. I'd almost guarantee its up tomorrow by 6. I wish they would've let that elite controller fly a little early though. It would've been fun to use through my two Campaign play throughs

Most of the pro's and reviewers must be american, nothing good to watch apart from a few people playing campaign right now, personally i'm not interested in the story this time around and want to see more MP.
I'm glad someone said it. I'm overall very hyped for this game, especially the MP, and the maps look like they play well. However, they do all "look" shitty and boring. Bland was a good word. No map looks exciting or very different from the rest like Guardian, The Pit, Narrows. 3 completely different and cool looking maps all in the same game.
I hope the dlc maps stand out more. There is hope

I really hope they use the landscapes and designs from the campaign like they did with Reach. Normally I would be against this but honestly...I'm on mission 12 right now and wow...the campaign level designs all look fuckin beautiful.

I think it will be one of the first things added post-launch, along with the Mark IV. Unless it's a secret unlock not shown in the 175 armor sets you can view in your collection, it's not in the game on day 1.
But if you want an idea, it will probably look pretty similar to this:

Yea but how did 343i forget that helmet. Could have replaced one of those ugly helmets for the king.

The Halo armor you once knew died with the handover of Halo, sadly. I really dislike all these new stupid helmets they are trying to squeeze into every new halo game.

Yeah probably you are right and it will look like that by the way I found this image from some Halo 5 toys well at least the Mark VI looks like the Halo 5 version hopefully the Mark V variant will look like this too,

Pretty much all the armor designs in Halo 3 sucked so I'm ok with that.
I'm always salty. How can you tell when I'm especially salty?
Anyway I was responding to a poster who said we were literally dumb to not launch the game early because he happened to get a copy.

I prefer the Mark VI to Mark V overall, Mark V would be so much better if it didn't have that wrestling championship belt of ammo packs around the midsection.

Wasn't aware of that, good to know. Come to think of it I do remember GameSpot saying they are waiting until the game launches to make sure the multiplayer servers are working before they give the game a score. Good on them, not that I think the launch will go poorly, but the MCC's reviews were pretty high considering the state it launched in.

Didn't the multiplayer only go live on launch day? From what I remember, most of the MCC reviews were based on the campaigns, which all ran relatively well minus a few checkpoint/achievement glitches.
No it was live before release. It's just no one could find a match because the MM was so poor so those with a copy had to resort to custom games or campaign

I went through the campaign for Halo 5 in the last three days and I loved it. Game is absolutely incredible.
And the multiplayer is way funner IMHO than CoD. But it all depends on what your preference is.

Same here. Completely agree. If you are going to play bLop3, you probably should ask/be concerned about Halo graphics after that beta... I think Halo plays better than COD for sure, and I'm spent a lot of time with both series.
I dunno. If you were on the embargo email it should say there. Otherwise the 27th.

I did a full speed run of Halo 4 with crouch on B. It's not as big a deal as you'd initially think.
I'd still put it on a paddle of course.
