Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Going to bed champion 49 and fully expect to be onyx when i wake up :p. Game is very fun going to play it more casually though. Think my brothers willl enjoy arena and the co-op campaign.

It'll happen, it happened to me :(

Does Onyx work the same as other ranks? I'll never drop down to Diamond, always stay in the Onyx tier or does Onyx work differently?

I may be wrong but the AR in the Beta was a monster, seems to me they have toned down the TTK a tad but it's still very very good. Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly though.

Yeah they've defo toned it down. I need to get used to the fact it isn't useless now and actually use it sometimes.

I don't want to jinx it since it won't really be primetime for the servers until later today, but if they can keep this up it looks like this will be a beautiful launch. Looks like all that preparation they did for this game in order to avoid a repeat of the MCC just might have paid off.

Congrats on the launch, Stinkles!

This I agree with. With the exception of one game where I seemed to be matched with Americans (from EU) and had bad lag, it's been great. No problems finding matches.

Saving campaign for Legendary four-player co-op later this week, but five hours of Arena and a couple Warzone matches has proven to be extremely positive. LOVE Breakout and Spartan abilities, especially in SWAT! Very pleased with matchmaking so far, 343 seems to have nailed the MP feel & design decisions. The glorious move into 60fps land is the way to go.

Heroic feels like heroic to me dude! I go down when I'm pushing my luck and staying out under fire for too long. I found it pretty satisfying treating enemies in 'runs' kinda like the intro - combo'ing between one enemy to the next but passing between cover inbetween just long enough to recharge.

The only time I ever really died on Heroic was when I made a stupid mistake or I decided I'd run out to revive my friend who forgot he's not some godly armored beast.

Preordered digital deluxe last night. They charged my card and it still said preordered this morning (EST) I just uninstalled it and it doesn't show up in the recent games to reinstall. When I go to the Xbox store it doesn't show that I own it it just says buy now. This sucks

Just finished the game on Heroic, started when it unlocked so it took me about 6 hours and 10-ish minutes to beat. It's probably the shortest campaign out of all the Halo games which is super disappointed.

However, I really enjoyed all the levels and the set up for future games is awesome. It does sorta feel like "Sir, Finishing this fight" part 2, though.

Way too much Locke, too. You only get to play as MC a total of
3-4
levels which really sucks since Locke isn't really an interesting character.

I'd be interested to know what your Skulls and Intel found numbers were at the end as 6 hours on Heroic seems really short. I played through on Normal first and ended with 2 skulls and 91 intel but it took me around 10 hours.

Is it possible to add a password lock to prevent me from accidentally purchasing REQ packs? Seriously, you just hit Y, A, A and you've spent $25!

I feel like if you've completed the other games on Legendary, you should just play it on that from the get go. I got up to mission 6 in like 2 hours I think, but it's been a blast. Only frustrating part was
Warden, was stuck here for a while until I just went super aggressive with the Scattershot.

^ In the system settings you can set a password on all purchases.

No skulls and maybe 14 intel or so.

I don't really find it fun to spend a lot of time looking for intel and skulls in Halo games since it just stalls the flow of the level.

Great game, though, I just wish there was more of it.

So how do you use the vehicle and gun war zone cards you get a ton of? When you go pick guns or vehicles does it give you an option to use a card you got?

I forgot to add you! This thread moves so quickly. What's your gamertag again?

Hehe it does indeed. It's AnX IReCoiLz. I'll be on in an hour or two.

My sensitivity is maxed. But this game's max is cripplingly slow compared to other recent shooters I've played.

It also feels like aim assist stops the reticle in its tracks when you aim at a player.

Whaaaaaaaa? Dam son.

My sensitivity is on 3 and sometimes that feels a little much.

I'm only on the second mission, but I can positively say that this is the best playing Halo game to date. I'll dive back into this tonight and try a game of Warzone.

I'm trying to work out whether I should pick this up after work. I finish around 3 but if it's going to take ages to install/Update I may not bother.

How long roughly should I expect it to take to install? (if I buy the physical disc).

It can take awhile depending on your internet and stuff. But its well worth getting. Amazing game.

I'm new to Halo, only started playing it serious this year after I got my XBO + MCC. I'm not a noob at FPS but how do you play Halo on Legendary? WTF

Do I have to stay on cover 24/7?

He must be very good. I am on Heroic and after 5 hours I am barely at the beginning of Level 7. So I have Level 7-15 to go, for me it will be about 12 hours or so. I am not that great, but have played every Halo game on Heroic. Loving that game so far though, looks fantastic and so far the Story is pretty good. There were some odd things so far, but overall really loving the campaign.

I am looking around, but obviously not a ton since I have Zero skulls so far, but around 14-18 intel things I have found. I really love how open it feels. Yeah, there are some portion when you re funneled into a not too open area, but for the most part, there are really a lot of different ways to tackle most of the encounters.

Great game so far!!!

A little of six hours to beat it on heroic. Don't really get the campaign complaints. I was one the the best Halo campaigns imo. Really solid and well paced. Story made sense for the most part. No where near as confusing as 4. It feels so good once you get a grasp on the new controls.

Spent the entire wee hours battling the new dashboard update, which was battling the halo 5 updates, which was battling my comfy bed recharge.

Now? It's time for Halo 5: Black Cofy Edition.

7 hours strong now.

Loving every minute.

I would suggest Heroic for a first play through...then do a Legendary run. I tend to do a lot of shooting from cover regardless of level, but Legendary is a real kick in the balls difficulty, but there are a lot of people that do it. I have never beat any of the previous games on Legendary, did a lot of different levels in coop on the other games on Legendary, but on my own it just kicks my ass way too much.

thank God I didn't update to the preview dash :3

Good to hear you've sorted it. You doing multi? I'll be on in an hour or so.

But are you sure that's for purchases and not just for logging in?

I set it up when my kid accidentally purchased a pack in PVZ, I'm almost 100% positive you can set it for purchases. It never happened again after I set it, so I'm fairly certain it was an option, it's been like a year since this happened, so I'm a bit fuzzy.

Marathoned the campaign on Legendary for 9 hours with three friends, finished 12 missions.
I don't know why those media think the campaign is weak. I enjoyed the hell of it, more than any other Halo games. The combat is definitely the best of the series, and the scale is the largest as well.
The difficulty is on a par with Halo 2, without the annoying Iron Skull and tons of Jackal snipers.

I'm in that mode where I'm not sure if I should get a little extra zzz or play. Either way, I'll be in sometime this morning.

The new dashboard isn't...the worst. It was just one of those situations where I turned on the console and everything wanted to happen at once.

I found it, thanks. There's not way to set it just for purchases, but you can set it for both purchases and logging in.

I'll start The H5 campaign today on Heroic. Was asking this because I tried playing the first ones on Legendary and got Tyrannosaurus Rekt :c

2 is notoriously hard on Legendary. 1 and 3 are about the same to me except for the level Cortana in Halo 3 because fuck that level. 4 was pretty simple barring the weapons didn't disappear to fast and 5 through 5 missions has been really enjoyable on Legendary minus Mission 5.

My wife picked up Halo 5 for me at the Best Buy midnight launch, and dropped it off at work for me. I brought my Xbox One in to work, so I could install & update. When I get home, there is no sleep, and only Halo.

Couple of things

I wish you could completely change the controls to your liking. I wish I could trade LB - thruster for X - sprint among a few other things.

Also the ordering your squad around is weird. Press UP to give them directions press UP on enemy to target, hold UP to stick to your position. The amount of times i've tried to mark a target and its just sent them off to stand somewhere..

I like how when I get into a warthog they are smart enough to have one hop on the gun but the other two get their own gun goose. Instead of one being useless in the passengers seat.

Bummer that audio logs just automatically play over the in game dialogue.
