Detroit: Become Human (Quantic Dream) Announced for PS4

I'll buy this day one, I like Quantic Dreams games usually.

But I have to say this kinda looks like shit, graphics wise. I don't see why you guys pretend it looks good ?

Beyond two souls' Ellen Page looked better than Cara IMO.

Cara is super uncanny valley.

The hair look bad on all the characters too.

The secondary characters don't look very good either.

Until Dawn looked more impressive than this I thought. So did Ryse, Horizon also looks to be above.

Oh well, Quantic Games usually look worse when first announced. I remember Heavy Rain looked like shit compared to final version.

Of course, the QD demo "the sorcerer" shits all over this.

If it has one, it'll be extremely limited -- comparable to the God of War 3 remaster. I doubt you'd see anything like Infamous of Driveclub given what QD games are.

So long as the environments are fully modeled, it should be exactly like the latter games. I expect there will be sequences with a fixed camera of course, but even Heavy Rain had areas that were modeled in full.

It's home of the best robot.

Yeah, but you know what the difference is? Robocop is a fucking cool name for a film.

That trailer looked awesome. I am from Michigan, so it is interesting to see how they depict futuristic Detroit. I am definitely buying this when it is released.

Such a terrible name. With a name like that I would have expected Jim Caldwell to be the main character.

Thought the premise was cool but hard to get that excited with David Cage writing the script

Wow, so they're gonna use androids to explore the idea of "What does it mean to be human?"

holy shit what an idea

why haven't every single piece of sci-fi fiction done this before

I hope she comes into contact with ROBOT RACISM, it could be a powerful allegory

The gaming industry will fall all over itself proclaiming a story composed of elements that would be considered rote in other media to be the greatest thing ever. See: The Last of Us.

i'll be thankful that it sticks to sci-fi and leaves out the supernatural stuff.

Nah, we'll get to the half way point and the internet is infected by a virus stemming from Kara's sentience of emotions and that she was never really a robot in the first place but had her soul transplanted into the robot body and she's secretly the robot's creators daughter who died as a young child from unknown plot disease and she must save the world by sacrificing herself from evil CEO who wants to control and enslave all robots and thus humanity, but she doesn't really die and it leaves it open for Kara 2 Invisible War.

Will remain cautious until gameplay details surface. Beyond was a disappointment after Heavy Rain, which was already criticized for its lack of gameplay...

Not loving the name either, hahah. The theme has been done to death, but different writers bring different ideas to it, so I'm not concerned about that.

I have a hard time not being bored playing their games. They always look great but are a chore to play. I hope ya'll enjoy it.

My YouTube is ready.

had to do a double take at Kara to make sure they werent modeling her after Jennifer Lawrence. I love the way this story is going and i cant wait to play it.

In what world is the writing for Beyond "terribad" ?

Like come the fuck on. Just because it's not ground breaking doesn't make it bad. It was fine outside of a few questionable scenes out of the whole game.

And Nomad Soul probably shits on half your top 5 games but OKAY.

He wrote two shitty stories with fanreiheit and heavy rain, give the guy a break.

This is actually really incredible. That stretch of road that they show in the open is my drive every single day into work. They even nailed the exit ramp there correctly. I worked downtown detroit for almost 12 years. Looking forward to this.

I can see it now. The slave labor cyborgs including sexbots lead a revolt and want to have rights just like everybody else. The game brings up what it means to be human, yada, yada. Somebody creates a Robocop, Chaos ensues.

A.I x Robocop x I Robot x Blade Runner, etc.

This guy

Get your ass back in the Star Wars thread, don't act like you like stuff that's original

Love the "Detroit" as a name. Once manufacturing cars, now manufacturing androids.

Until Dawn looked more impressive than this I thought. So did Ryse, Horizon also looks to be above.

None of those games looks better than this if you examine them on a character micro level that this will revel in. Kara's face looked fantastic here.

C'mon man, some of us try to avoid leaked scripts. I had to fix your post.

How people continually get hyped for this hacks games is beyond me. Especially after the mess that is Beyond. Indigo Prophecy also terribad half way through.

Y'all ready for some SADNESS!!!!

I can only hope this more Heavy Rain, and less Beyond Two Souls.
The boneheaded move to show the story out of order. I've never seen a narrative choice ruin a game more.

But hell, I likely won't play this. Cage can direct, and even do cool sequences (Beyond's Homeless section was great), but you gotta take the writing away from him, it's just not his strength. The dialogue in that trailer was already awkward, albeit admittedly emotional.

And why must Cage stick his games in America? Always comes off as pretending to convey a place they know nothing about. He should Write What He Knows, set it in France, why not?

Well, we'll always have the inevitable TBFP Let's Play...

Not as effective as the Kara trailer obviously, but nice to see they didn't let that concept die.

I really liked the comedic tone of their wizard tech demo though... Pretty sure it looked better too. :P

Because I've enjoyed Indigo, Heavy Rain, and Beyond. Pretty simple reasoning. They might all have issues here or there but they've all been fantastic rides for me as a gamer/viewer.
