Detroit: Become Human (Quantic Dream) Announced for PS4

baby's first android existential crisis

Great graphics and tech, typically cringe worthy, awful script for what is certain to be an awful narrative.

what exactly was awful and cringeworthy? I mean it's something I'd expect and Andriod wanting to become human to say.

Someone from marketing really needs to sit David Cage down and tell him to stop giving his games shitty names. First Beyond, now this? I mean, don't get me wrong, the game looks super cool and I'm excited for it but that name is just cringe-worthy.

I choose to think of the title as Cage trying to give a very stern command to the city of Detroit.

Wow, so they're gonna use androids to explore the idea of "What does it mean to be human?"

holy shit what an idea

why haven't every single piece of sci-fi fiction done this before

I hope she comes into contact with ROBOT RACISM, it could be a powerful allegory

Is it ethical to fuck robots?!

This is the sad truth. I most probably won't pay money for another Cage production, but I may watch a let's play for the lulz.

I'll buy this day one, I like Quantic Dreams games usually.

But I have to say this kinda looks like shit, graphics wise. I don't see why you guys pretend it looks good ?

Beyond two souls' Ellen Page looked better than Cara IMO.

Cara is super uncanny valley.

The hair look bad on all the characters too.

The secondary characters don't look very good either.

Until Dawn looked more impressive than this I thought. So did Ryse, Horizon also looks to be above.

Oh well, Quantic Games usually look worse when first announced. I remember Heavy Rain looked like shit compared to final version.

Of course, the QD demo "the sorcerer" shits all over this.
Compare it to the original Kara tech demo (which showed off the tech that Beyond Two souls ended up using). I think the improvements are very, very visible.

I love the concept and I much preferred Beyond over Heavy Rain. Cage's style is well suited to science fiction worlds. Just please don't convolute it and fill it with plot holes again!

I ironically like David Cage's games but the subject matter is my shit. And a lot of potential for the eventual big dumb twist. Might actually get this.

But why call your game Detroit???

Game looks visually incredible and has some impressive mo-cap. You can tell there's a lot of talent at the studio.

A shame David Cage's garbage writing and storytelling will ruin the game though. Every Quantum Dream game devolves into complete nonsense apart from maybe Heavy Rain. He really needs an editor or two, or just someone to tell him when to stop.

Cage's not in a bad position. After the non-sensical mumbo jumbo that was Beyond, he can only surprise. Who's seen The Following knows that Valorie Curry is fantastic, so he started pretty strong there.

I am hype for this. I love QD games and I love this style of game. Sure the story in these games can get a bit out there but I don't even care. Especially for this title. Kara was an amazing concept and I'm so happy they are pushing through with a full story for her.

Well there 's a turn up. I always had a feeling the Kara demo would be expanded upon after the amount of positive press/reactions it received.

I'll openly admit I had a tear in my eye watching the tech demo so I hope cage can bring the feels with this game.

Day 1 for me on this. Love me some Quantic Dreams. Even beyond was enjoyable in places and if you take DCs writing for what it is ( complete tosh) then you'll learn to love it. It's a bit like the worst B-Movies that are so bad they become incredible. He's the Ed Wood of video games.

The end reveal better be that it's a continuation of Grasshopper's PS2 game Michigan: Report from Hell.

That would be the best troll ever. I would love a sequel to Michigan Report from Hell, bad voice acting and all.

"Folks, we are investigating reports of killer sexbots." Get extra points from peeking in houses and getting boobs shoots and stuff.

Amazing visuals and tech on display there, story should be interesting also! Wonder how the game will be played though, hoping for a bit more "free" third-person, ie no restrictive camera angles like in their previous work.

Yeah, god, I wish I could see what they could come up with when someone who can write is there. Hoping this is closer to Heavy Rain than Beyond for a cheap pick up down the line because Heavy Rain is at least hilarious.

Whoa bro I really didn't like their last game but what about the dialogue was so bad? Nothing really jumped out at me.

To TellTale please. QD exceeds in the tech department while it fails in the writing. Telltale is like the polar opposite.

That would be a great match.

Excited that Cage has 2 American co-writers on this and a co-director as well. Gonna be so much better with him being kept in check.

THe thing with Cage is that his games sell well enough. It's why Sony is allowing him to make a 3rd exclusive for them and his game most likely inspired other games to follow the mold. His games also push facial tech which is amazing.

Finally, the sequal to Ex Machina is here

Cage watched Ex Machina and started wondering how he could ruin it.

Even though Kara has been about since well before Ex Machina or - before someone else brings it up - Humans?

On topic: Fucking delighted this is finally happening! Wanted a game based around Kara since the original tech demo and I'm so glad it's being fleshed out. Bit of a shitty title, but all relative and trivial if the game is fantastic. I have high hopes for this as I loved the demo.

Can't wait! :D

Love the "Detroit" as a name. Once manufacturing cars, now manufacturing androids.

None of those games looks better than this if you examine them on a character micro level that this will revel in.

Yeah no.

She looks bad. The actress is gorgeous so if the character looks bad they just fucked it up.

Maybe she has better skin texture, it still doesn't look right in the eyes and overall likeness which is where it matters the most.
