Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

This fight is a bitch even with coop. AI in this fight is fucking useless. It took my friend and I 52 tries to beat in on Legendary. The trick is just grabbing the incineration cannons, doing damage early, then try to get the wardens so only one is moving towards you. Once you kill two there is a checkpoint and some laser turrets spawn. One incineration charge + light rifle shot and they will blow up. Try to take out both on side of the map so you don't get smiled, then kite the final Warden around that side of the map until he dies. Headshots work great since you won't be able to get behind him. Good luck.

Cool, thanks. So you can kill them without hitting their backs? Also, where is that incineration cannon?

I do terrible on Fathom. Orion is probably the map I'm best at, but so far I think I'm enjoying Plaza the most. It's weird though I think I've only seen 5-6 maps?

Yes, it seemed like bullets bounced off of them anywhere but their face/back if I recall correctly. Incineration cannons you just have to hit them at all go apply the damage. You can even hit/trigger several wardens at once with a good shot at the beginning. Incineration cannons are on the right/left walls in the center ammo rack. Another two are right in front of you when you walk in (immediately behind the starting location of the three wardens).

Hmm, an older Plaza match that I was disconnected from just appeared on my stats as a new match over my true last match played. It dropped my Team Slayer CSR bar quite a bit.

Grantland: Can ‘Halo’ Make the Leap Into the E-sports Future?

The hidden cost of hitching a game’s fortunes to the hard-core E-sports community, though, is the way a slavish devotion to balance — the competitive gamer’s holy grail — can stifle innovation. Balancing a game’s traditional feel with advances in the wider gaming world is difficult stuff; too much change in a game’s mechanics risks alienating the core fan base; too little creates the ossified feel of being stuck in the past. For instance, the ability to sprint — i.e., to make one’s character move faster than its normal speed — was popularized by the Call of Duty series of games and is now widely considered a standard feature of the modern first-person shooter (FPS) genre. Sprint first appeared in the Halo series in 2012’s Halo 4 and its inclusion in H5 has been met by the game’s hard-core fans with responses varying from weary resignation to outright hostility.

Probably have about 10 hours in so far. Loving the game!! Warzone is a fucking blast, so much fun, and I love the REQ system. I like a lot of the maps too even though some of them do seem a bit too familar at times.

I'm about 7 missions in on the campaign and it's been amazing so far imo. I can't believe some people think this is the worst campaign in Halo.

The game looks significantly better during the campaign, which is my main gripe with MP right now.

The cutscene before and after a Warzone match doesn't look to good, it's actually pretty bad looking. The textures are just putrid when you're first flying in. Even when you're first starting any MP game the spartan models just look atrocious imo. I hope there is a patch or something that comes out soon to fix some of the MP jitterness and textures.

That being said I'm still having a blast. The gameplay is better than ever indeed.

This is some of the greatest Halo I've ever played. All I want is more of it.

So finished up the campaign, started on saturday, just completed it there. Honestly...I think 343 just need to truck on and do what they're doing regardless of what others say. I honestly and genuinely loved that campaign. Moment to moment gameplay was incredible, great big open areas full of different angles and paths, with tons of options in how to tackle most problems. Great set of environments to traverse and take in,
Sanghelios
being a real highlight.

I even found the actual story pretty awesome. I really can't get onboard with the diea you need to have read extended universe to understand this story. That was Halo 4 through and through. This was a lot clearer and more concise in that regard. Since the of what is going on with
Cortana
and why is fairly veiled on purpose, it does take awhile to take off, but the theme they explored with it, really interesting. I like the idea that it was as much
Cortana's destiny to arrive on that halo ring as John's. Why shouldn't she be in the running for the mantle?
. Lots of cool moments throughout the campaign.

My biggest criticism, and it's not a surprising one, is the actual characters and lack of time given to giving us a good understanding of them; little time given to building relationships and conflicts between and within them. 343 take a good crack at using the in game dialogue to give us some introspection, but it needs more.
Cortana
is written great towards the en, more characters need that time and those moments to vent and should their feelings. I appreciate a lot of new characters were elbowing for room on this one, but come on. In terms of the plot, I really like where they've went with htis trilogy, the end has me pumped
everyone standing together now, the future more bleak than ever
that's awesome but I should also be coming to the completion of character driven plots to be really engaged. Will so and so finally put their differences aside, or will their infighting get everyone killed? Will blankety and blank get together? Will insert's manipulations finally be unveiled or will their own master plan come to the forefront if the heroes make it through this struggle? Fictional examples, but you get the gist.

Great cmapaign though and I look forward to playing again. Now, multiplayer!

Fantastic, thanks.

Good news... The patch will only take 1 hour to download. Downside? It will literally be about to finish when I have work... :(
So no Halo 5 for 4 and a half more hours. D:

Why does it feel like you're stuck in mud when you try and turn? Like if you're getting shot at from behind? Is that the auto aim?

No that is called "stopping power" where as you slow down and cant turn fast when being shot. Its awesome, because it stops people from simply running away from a fight.

Anyone remember me saying for some reason i've been put in Diamond for Arena yet I suck, never had a positive k/d ratio. Well now im getting absolutely spanked every game. And i cant even drop down rank. Good job 343

Started around 11:30am, had a break from 2:00-2:30 and from 5:00-6:30, but Normal is done.

So took like 6.5 Hours on Normal...including Cutscenes!

Much shorter than I thought it would take me.

In comparison, the other games last week took me 8-10 Hours on Normal.

It was quite a ride though, which had it's ups and downs...
dat cliffhanger though...
even after the "Finish The Fight" Objective!

Not as bad as people made it out to be though.

I talked with so many pros and former pros that I know last night about initial impressions. All I kept hearing was biggest skill gap, great balance, more reliant on individual skill, and much harder to spawn trap.

My initial impressions were that this has the most varied gameplay, the ways you can chain abilities is fantastic, gunplay is super precise, and finally that setups are going to a bitch on this game.
