Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

Haha alright. Will I go down if I keep stinking? I do awesome in capture the flag and the control the points (forget the name of it). Like really really good. But in plain old slayer Im just abysmal for some reason. I just can never finish them off. Im an assist master it seems haha.

As of right now, you can never move down in rank, it remains your baseline.

If you're honestly looking to get better, you have to play against better players. Also, watching streams of pro players will help.

Getting a good KD is as much about aim and accuracy as it is about understanding where you need to be on any given map and how best to lockdown certain points from that position and also understanding when you need to move to a new position.

My friend didn't like the 15 minutes he played of warzone. He Died constantly. had no kills

played arena and loved it

Does 'bookmarking' a film in theatre save it? I always like to keep the video of my first multiplayer match for posterity.

And because I got a triple kill in the opening ten seconds.

I am 100% confident that Arena is the best Halo multiplayer created and possibly the best multiplayer game.

On consoles for sure. But not much competition offcourse. Halo is balanced, decent long time to kill, dedi servers, 60fps, same starting weapons, and matchmaking on skill.

How long is each season for ranks?

Also I wonder if Silver will be where the median player is, like it is in LoL.

1 month.

Unfortunately it's the nature of Halo and I know exactly what you mean. It's like, when you kill someone it's so rewarding, but when you're getting owned it's just no fun at all.

Exactly that! I'm not knocking the game, I'm a huge fan of the story mode but online has always been a rage inducer for me. I'll keep plugging away though, I'm sure it will be more bearable when I start playing in premade fireteams.

How do people feel about ADS? Doesn't it kinda defeat the entire point? Halo was great because it steered away from that. With Reach and 4 already leaning towards CoD style multiplayer, is this the final straw?

Played through the opening mission and I think half of mission 2. Probably the best opening mission in the series tbh.

Arena is incredible. Easily the best competitive multiplayer experience I've had this generation and one of the best I've had in a very long time. Will check out Warzone later.

Its not ADS its zoom. Now just all guns have it instead of some guns. But i dont see many people use it because hipfire is just better still 99% of the time.

Done with Mission 6.....so far?

343 stepped their shit up a lot, absolutely love the big arenas for the fighs and that verticality :3

If I understand correct every weapon has at least a little bit of zoom when you use ADS but the precision stays the same for example with the pistol

So far I have used it a little bit. But for example in SWAT I don't use it at all. It does not destroy the game.

Last I read, the API was in private beta and things like ESL and Halo Tracker were working with them for it when it launches. Maybe it'll coincide with the release of BTB or maybe Forge?

Yeah. I read that it was supposed to be ready for launch. I have a bad feeling that this will have the same fate as almost every other 343i infrastructure project has though.

This gameplay is the gold standard of FPSs. Im in love. Reduced aim assist in comparison to past Halo games really ups the skill gap. Took me a couple hours to adjust but the gameplay has that zen-like flow after awhile. The thruster/booster adds so much to the game.

343 addressed some of my main complaints:

-CTF, the flag carrier isnt displayed to the entire enemy team, until they are spotted - and even then they are only shown for a short time. What a great and practical idea. The flag carrier on display for all to see 100% of the time was my biggest beef with H4. Add that with the fact its return to score and this is pretty much the best Halo CTF gameplay yet. I cant wait for BTB CTF.

-Reduced radar range was needed and is just about perfect - they better not go back.

-AR and pistol starts was the correct way to go. The pistol does its job just fine.

-The booster is something Halo should have always had. I felt this way back in H4 and im glad its standard. Fits the gameplay perfectly.

-Sniper and dmr scopes are 100% fixed from the beta. Total 180.

-I like the touch of different sound effects when you are picking up different types of grenades. A good audio cue for more experienced players in the heat of combat.

Only thing im not liking is the overall look of the arena maps - although the gameplay is fine. Whats up with all these dark alleyways? I want bright outside, natural stuff like High Ground. Perhaps with the map packs...

yeah feels great playing it!

Played a few hours today, really enjoyable. Warzone is super fun and addicting. Campaign is solid so far, I'll try playing some more levels throughout the week, possibly on co-op.

God damn Arena is difficult. Everyone is so goddamn accurate. I always seem to 4 shot everyone and then can never get the final shot for the kill, people seem to just about get out of sight.

I'm not very good at getting away when my shield is down.

Same here. I'm getting destroyed.

I can't make my mind up about multiplayer. Some Warzone games are so tight with the lead going back and forth, it's really enjoyable.

But then most games I'm reminded of my youthful rage at the TV from the Halo 2 days! The game is so punishing and sometimes leaves me feeling hard done by, like how did that dude kill me when I peppered him with lead??!!!

Perhaps Halo multiplayer isn't for me. I've never been too good at it and it leaves me feeling angered and bothered around 80% of the time. The other 20% I love it. Why is it like that?

I want to enjoy the REQ grind and even microtransactions but I can't see me playing long term once I finish the campaign. I want to love it but it stresses me too much!

I understand you. Halo can be really stressful because of the skill gap. The shooting mechanics lead to a lot of duels, and they usually come down to who performs better under pressure... It's not like other modern shooters where starting with the upper hand usually means you'll come out on top. This makes most encounters stressful, especially when you are evenly matched.. I love the stress of a good halo game though..

Maybe you should give the social playlists a whirl when they launch... You might not feel as much pressure all the time.

Is there any way to just mute all voice chat from my human teammates? All I ever hear are guys bitching about dying and babies crying.

The sound on the weapons is so damn good. Everything feels so damn powerful when you shoot it, puts a lump in your throat.

Even the Promethean Light Rifles, which felt flimsy last time out feel like they pack some punch through your subwoofer.

That first shot from the SAW sounds so good.
