Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

This is my first xboxone game. Do I really have to wait for a full install in order to play of from a disk? Does it download the patch at the same time

What's with the game chat after a match, you can still hear talking but not a icon for who is talking? Love the game so far just needs a few small minor adjustments

When my team is getting steam rolled in Warzone, I feel the game is at its worst. It's easy to feel like you're not contributing; most AI enemies can't be taken on solo, capture points are viable but tricky alone since there are only three, and once you start losing its only more likely to be out gunned by incredibly powerful cards.

I wish there were better ways to contribute and get points. I usually try to defend or attack bases when this happens and I'm awarded very few points unless I capture. Not to mention if I do face AI, the kill is frequently stolen.

I'd love for Warzone to be fun solo, but I just don't think it can be consistently.
I agree. To add to that, when I'm on a Warzone team that is getting demolished I'm much less likely to actually call in reqs that could help because I don't want to waste them in what is likely to be a losing effort.

Installs full game from disk then downloads patch. May have to manually launch game to get patch to begin downloading.

Up to level 9 in campaign. Can't believe they didn't listen to feedback and made the story even more reliant on Halo fiction. Who made this call? They also completely shit on Halo 4's plot by bringing back Cortana in a completely convenient and trite way.

Also, the confrontation between Locke and Chief mid-game is so poorly edited/directed that it pretty much kills the entire scene. I don't care how intricate your choreography is, if you don't know how to edit it, it looks and feels like garbage.

All the cinematics feel compromised and the terrible, terrible, terrible, technique of fading to black just reeks of a director who doesn't know what to do with what he's been handed.

The campaign's plot is the hands down the worst in the franchise.

343 has fixed the mechanics of the game and it plays great. They're turning the fiction of the world into white noise that no one is going to care about, though.

A disappointment so far. =(

Disagree totally on the plot. It's easily one of the best, riskiest and well executed Halo plots ever. No Halo game, not even the first or second, can claim to have so significantly turned the Halo Universe on its head as this one has. What happens in this game changes everything. Chief and Locke's confrontation was handled flawlessly as far as I'm concerned. Even when trying to capture Chief there was a level of respect there that was obvious. They allowed Locke to get his, but in a way where the Chief still ended up looking like the clear superior of the two.

Especially love the way the Chief ordered Blue Team to push on like there was nothing at all to worry about here. I've never cared about Halo's fiction more than I do now, and 343i has been nothing but money in that regard thus far.

If you're online, the 100% installation progress includes content from the disk as well as any online patches. It took nearly 2 hours to install for me on launch day, it might take you less time though.

This is not going to happen.

I'm not sure why people think this is going to happen. It makes zero sense.

I'd pay $60 without hesitation for the exact same treatment as Halo CE. Give me the remastered campaign (with those sweet Blur cutscenes) and some of the best H3 maps as a DLC pack for Halo 5 with those amazing mechanics, and I'll be all over it.

Though I guess the DLC being free in Halo 5 kinda makes that impossible.

I really want a remastered Halo 3 campaign though :( That's my favorite campaign by a mile. It's pure perfection.

Oh I'm not saying I wouldn't buy it... I absolutely would. It's my favorite Halo game, but it's just not going to happen, especially after it got up-res treatment in the MCC just last year.

I have this suspicion that the lobbies might be bugged; maps are supposed to be on a fixed rotation, but I keep getting the same ones over and over, which only makes sense if the lobby is reloading and messing with the rotation somehow. That could be a symptom.

Had a couple good games on stream. Thanks for watching and putting the pressure on. Almost had a crazy comeback and tied it at 49-49 until someone on my team fell off the map :/

It was also mixed fairly poorly in game.

That's what I was referring to.

It sounded like someone was playing music in another room most of the time and it almost never matched the gameplay. I might be one of the best OSTs if I listened to it on youtube, I honestly don't know, but it's barely even there in the actual game.

Just finished a match down 959 to 400 on Apex 7. We took all the bases and took the core and won the match right as the Warden popped up. Shit was intense.

Yeap. Deciding when to use a rare card usually happens when you're either clearly winning not losing. Not a fun kind of line to walk.

well what were the reasons? there's plenty of criticism to go around and most people ignore it during the honeymoon phase unless it's written controversially.

But waypoint is notorious for disliking "competitveness" so i could understand why some members there would be salty about an eSports focused title.

Has anyone had any issues with using the standard xbox headset with a new controller? I recently bought the MC controller and when I join a party it says 'Microphone not found for these people'. When I switch back to my day 1 controller it works instantly. I've read online about profile association with controllers but it says it is assigned to me, so I'm not really sure what else I can do.

I found this text on the last paragraph of the credits of Halo 5, go ahead and take a look:

Halo 5: E.L.I.T.E game confirmed on 2017? I'm talking about a game like Halo 3: ODST but with the engine of Halo 5 and taking place on the civil war of the planet of the Elites
I would really love to play a game like that, what do you guys think?

Play as the arbiter and fight the civil war? Could be cool.

Opposite happened in our game I was playing with Wesley Sharks and one other Gaffer. We got Warden, we were up 890-600 or something like and were holding down West Armory towards what I thought was an inevitable win. All of the sudden they pushed armory with such precision with a Mantis raining down missles, capped West Armory and then destroyed our Core when we were at around 950.

We were shocked at how organized and precise the rush was even though we though we had the game.

Just played the best round in any game ever.

There was so much back and forth it was insane. Everyone was using the best power weapons and vehicles constantly. You could never tell which team would win. Way too unpredictably awesome. Soooo many twists and turns. It was incredible.

We ended up winning. Best match of the century.

Brutal. I'd be so pissed off.

All I know is it is frustrating playing arena solo at times. I have never seen so many quitters and lopsided games when I solo matchmake. I might try to stick playing with friends in arena and hope we get BTB for the solo times.

Since Osiris and Blue Team were both a bust in this in terms of story impact, but the squad game play works, I'd much rather see Chief, Locke, Arbiter and maybe Palmer for the next game, and then interchangeably use Fred, Kelly, Linda, Vale, Tanaka, Buck and Thorne for certain missions.

But, with the hammering they've taken critically from reviewers and fans alike regarding lack of Chief, jumbled story, we're probably going to have Chief front and center (as it should be for his mainline games).

There's our 2017 game. Halo Wars 2 is next year.

I'd like this.

Or they could give us a game with just Blue Team like this game probably should have been lol

Best game of the day goes to a certifiably insane match on ARC. We were up by at least 300 points the entire game, but they got this close to killing our core. Seriously, when we managed to take an armory and bring the defenses back up, it must have had one shot in it, if that. No visible bar left.

Was intense as hell.

If it's the one I'm thinking of then yeah, that got really close. Health bar for the core was at like 5% when we managed to get that base. Was intense AF.
