I haven't bought it. Too close to Fallout 4 for me, and after Halo 4 I will wait for it in a sale
For people citing digital sales:
In 2014 Digital console sales made up 9% of all game sales in germany.
I doubt digital in the UK will make up more than 25-30% at most.
So Halo is the top selling beating the second one by almost 50% and still the worst selling of its kind. Halo used to be a monster. I guess nothing else sold when it was at its prime.
Considering how badly Bungie screwed up with Destiny I will not be surprised if Destiny 2 sees a drop even worse than Halo 4 to Halo 5.
Its like you've been living in a cave for the past year.
Aw ok didn't know that. Very cool.A lot of online retailers in the UK get you the game before release date, so you can play before midnight on launch day. So if that mattered, that's the smarter option.

I'm honestly extremely surprised by Halo 5s Twitch viewer numbers.
It barely ever breaks 2500 if even 2000. Only on the first day or two did it have bigger numbers that then immediately fell off.
Now it's not even in the top 10 of watched games.
I would have expected a huge franchise like Halo to be much higher for longer.
Not surprised.
Expect multiplayer numbers to fall off in the coming weeks.

Same thing happened when Forza6 didn't chart in The US. All of a sudden everyone bought the game digitally.
It's amazing how wrong you are, outstandingly so.
Numbers have gone up in terms of sales and player count has increased and holds steady.
Destiny 2 will likely be bigger, if not just as big.
It's like I'm on a merry go round. The thread ain't that long. Read through it a little.Keep in mind it launches on a much smaller console base and a significantly bigger digital sale ratio, we are not seeing a full picture here.

In the UK? I like to give more people credit to not pay the digital tax we have.
That's exactly the stake here. UK is basically the second biggest market for Xbox outside of North America, so if a flagship title sees a significant drop there, it means Xbox is even more NA-centric than before. - barring a similar drop in NA, which I don't expect.Rest of Europe is probably even lower...
Ill wait for more info but
Halo 5 does not seem to have the same momentum that mainline Halo games used to have, even Reach had more momentum. Halo 4 and MCC did not do it favours
Halo used to have a big marketing push here, Master Chief cardboard cutouts, commercials, soda drinks with Halo logo, posters everywhere, yet Halo 5 is just a game on a shelf, no different than Syndicate, Evolve, Pro Evo etc. From what i played of H5, i though the MP was really good
Who knows, maybe in other parts of the world that same heavy push that Halo always got is still present. But the title seems to have almost no momentum and its just another game, which a mainline Halo should not be considering the pedigree
(Just seen the other thread but its just a rehash of the pal thread without telling people why the sales are noteworthy)
Whilst we do not have the first games numbers it appears to be the worst or second worst selling based on how the first game did. Halo Wars is a spin off gameplay wise so not really a good comparison;
I feel this is quite a worry that Halo has become more niche and sold to a more core base tban a wider audience - this is supposed to be their flagship franchise.
Anecdotal evidence, but I run a small chain of indie gamestores in the states and it's our worst selling Halo launch ever. We've been in business since 1994.
sales cant go down ahah, of course the sales went up.
Not surprised.

Oh shit! Your friend sold it! Halo really is dad..Rest of Europe is probably even lower...
Not really surprising. A close friend already sold the game.
I'm in the UK, so you can give me more credit. I bought a digital copy off the US store. Was cheaper than retail, and my brother gets a copy to use on his Xbox by default.

Did you miss all the adverts?

If you saw the TTK success then you will know it is the opposite... Destiny will go up.Considering how badly Bungie screwed up with Destiny I will not be surprised if Destiny 2 sees a drop even worse than Halo 4 to Halo 5.
Hmmm might as well, it is a good game, might as well let as many people as possible get itPC version incoming

People yelling concern trolling is getting out of hand! It happened in the fallout 4 screenshot thread as well. Any amount of criticism, bad talk is now shitposting/concern trolling for these big franchises apparentlyConcern trolling getting out of hand
