More people were playing fifa then halo 5 when I checked this morning...
I checked at 9:00 AM EST and it was: Halo First, Destiny, GTA and then FIFA. Halo peak usually is after 10 PM either way.

Untrue. The figures are not an average or made up, they are exactly what they say they are. Retail sales in a market where digital is still very small compared to physical due to insane pricing of digital products vs the buying power of Amazon and supermarkets.Less relevant yes, and not comparable as the market has changed. The only thing that's certain is more people buy digital now than before.
People can throw whatever percentage they like out for how much is digital, aiming high or low, but those figures are at best an average and at worst just made up...
I don't know or care if this is the lowest selling Halo game (I haven't even bought it) but just pointing out that neither does anyone else, and these figures don't prove a thing either way.
Wrong in what? The only thing I said was I feel like digital is outselling physical. I don't believe that anymore, but we don't have any hard numbers. You never know, it could of done.

What? I initially had the thought of digital outselling physical. I never stated any exact numbers, just said that very statement. It'd be ridiculous to think it was anything as huge as that number. I mentioned my friends as an example of a sales trend, not a statistic for Pete's sake. Stop twisting my words. But you thought digital was outselling physical... 9 to 1 is digital outselling physical...
But because you didn't say those exact words you weren't claiming they were representative. Ok got it.
I know, and I've said that many, many times in this thread. Which led me onto me stating whether the numbers of a split being accurate in the first place. Imagine if 1 in 5 people game shared and bought from a foreign store. That's 20% of the numbers you're not accounting for. That doesn't sound too out there.except you and/or your game sharing buddies didn't even buy the game in the eu, so no it wouldn't.

We don't have any hard numbers, but we have clues from other publishers like EA and Ubisoft. What kind of evidence suggests that Halo 5 will be the exception to the rule?

Nothing! I'm not saying it will be. You just never know, and we'll probably never find out.We don't have any hard numbers, but we have clues from other publishers like EA and Ubisoft. What kind of evidence suggests that Halo 5 will be the exception to the rule?
Dude we have numbers from companies themselves. digital accounts for about 20%. If Halo 5 sold that much digitally in the UK it still would have sold less than both Halo 3 or 4.
NPD threads aren't discounted because digital isnt' shown. I wish we had that data but most people still buy their games physical.
Seeing how the numbers don't include digital, I'm sure that if you were to include it, it would Match, if not narrowly miss the match the sales of retail... mainly because if there is one series Xbox has which everyone pretty much agrees benefits from digital, that would be Halo
That's what it looked like for me last night...
Evidently the European crowd is more into fifa then halo.

I still personally think it'll be higher than 20%.Until there is a precedent that shows a title selling more digitally than physically (which I don't think has happened), then why even bother entertaining such a ridiculous notion?
So every single game sells exactly 20% digitally and 80% physically?
And that's not an average or made up?
Really?
Digital attatch will be 20% at MAXIMUM
This is a poor performance any way you want to spin it.
I still personally think it'll be higher than 20%.
That's my opinion, and I'm perfectly inclined to have one.
lol
Isn't the XB1 install base in the UK much smaller than the 360 at the same point its lifespan? I thought the 360 was very popular over there. If true, then these numbers mean nothing as they are presented. Need more data to really see what percentage of owners bought the game.
lol

Nah, I'd say in the initial week, around 40%~. Although, like I've stated previously, I can imagine that dropping week by week.By saying over 20%, do you mean closer to 90%? Serious question. And hey, you're entitled to hold any opinion you'd like, but don't think people ought to take your opinion seriously if it's unfounded and baloney.
It's like purposeful ignorance despite evidence showing what digital sales are normally like.

Even with all the evidence given to you in this thread and the OP, your mental gymnastics remain grade-A.
Ah, sorry, I read it as if you were disputing the retail sales numbers, apologies. So every single game sells exactly 20% digitally and 80% physically?

Halo 5 is the best playing Halo since 2 so maybe it will be a slow burn as word of mouth spreads.

What would be considered a good performance? Because I don't even think MS would have expected this installment to match what the series has done at the peak of its existence...
I keep hearing people say shit like... The circumstances are the same for when Halo3 launched... No they fucking aren't...
You know Halo 3 sold twice with even lower userbase than Xbone in UK.It's at the top of the UK chart, without even including digital sales. And this is only for UK, not even Xbox's main market. What is everyone getting all upset about, lol. Just because it didn't out sell Halo 4(yet, will likely eventually)? Let me quote the Eurogamer article:
"did not match the sales performance of Halo 4. Although that isn't too surprising - Halo 4 launched in 2012 on Xbox 360, with a far larger and more mature sales base. Xbox One is just two years old."
So of COURSE its not going to outsell Halo 4,a game launching on a console already 7 years into it's lifecycle, at launch. And XB1 sales arent bad either overall, outpacing 360. And the game's online/networking is really great. No problems unlike MCC. Everyone said 343 had to make sure it launched with no issues, and it succeeded in that. So that will obviously win back a lot of bad will people still had over MCC.
So chill, lol. Enjoy the game.
Foreign store, damn, it's at 0% isn't it.I think digital sales are at 1%, with only your friends having bought Halo 5 digitally.
lol

I have a feeling this is just part one of the "it sold way more on digital because of friends" saga.
360 was at 1.3m at Halo 3 launch.lol

The numbers show considerable growth from 2007 – both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 have shifted a million units since the same period last year when their installed base was 0.4 million and 1.3 million, respectively.

No, about the same if not higher than the 360 was when Halo 3 launched with likely at least twice as many sales.
In other words, fucking terrible for Xbox's flagship title.
You know Halo 3 sold twice with even lower userbase than Xbone in UK.
How do you explain Halo 5 compared with Halo 3?
Eurogamer is just trying to make something bad looks less bad.
Halo 5 |OT| Friends Saga: Friendships make everything digital.
Is anyone claiming the series is as strong as it was back with Halo 3?
