Fallout 4 has gone gold; leaked gameplay vids

Did you play on hardcore? I did with New Vegas on my 200 hour playthrough. I can say with confidence it didn't add anything to the game experience for me.

Yeah, it didn't for me either. It wasn't really a difficulty increase, and honestly, it didn't make things feel more realistic to me since I was already doing so many superhuman and unrealistic things as it is.

Mods that increased difficulty in other ways (directly with combat, stealth, and the like) made a lot more sense to me.

Reviewer or just person with very close ties to Bethesda which resulted in them giving person early access to PC copy. There is no way those pics are from leaked / cracked PC copy, that 128-bit encryption is tad too tough to crack.
Well, plus, the PC game disc is likely missing, at the least, its executable file entirely. You can't decode something that you don't even have.

Clearly this is some kind of leak through a different channel.

When thinking about these PC leakers are taking quite big risk imo. Amount of people with access to PC copy must still be extremely small and game is 100% tied to Steam meaning Bethesda can easily monitor usage of copies. I hope leakers don't get tracked down and into deep shit because of this.

I'm the only one that played FO3 an FONV using the V.A.T.S. all the time instead of playing the game like a shooter?

UK Gaf - Anyone pre-ordered with Simply Games?

I'm trying to pre-order, but having issues. Game says it's available for pre-order, I click the image, but it won't add the game to the basket for some reason. Anyone else had any problems?

I'm going to have to play this entire game solo, companion AI is dumb as shit. Just makes my point earlier about this being the reason why they're immortal more valid.

Yeah, I am going solo too (lone wanderer perk), except for parts that requires them to complete a mission.

Otherwise, I feel having companions in F4 is like cheating, considering they can't die. It would take away any excitement you may have.
I don't think I would resist exploiting companions by sending them to potentially dangerous situations.
What's that, a minefield? Orders companion to run over minefield and destroy all mines, etc.

What are the odds of the PC screenshots coming internally from Bethesda (either with or without permission) in order to try and dispel some of the "game looks like shit" talk?

I liked that it gave a use to food and water which is just pointless clutter without Hardcore mode. And the fact that you couldn't just take a nap and heal yourself. I felt both of those added something to the game.

Considering how big risk it would be for PC copy reviewer to leak PC footage I can see intentional leak from inside of Bethesda being plausibility.

Video RAM. XB1 and PS4 have 5gb usable shared VRAM. You can try on your rig, but you may have performance issues.

Yeah, granted I don't know much about what goes on behind the scenes, but from a purely visual standpoint I don't see anything going on in FO4 in terms of visual resources that I haven't encountered in other games that ran fine to my standards. I'm still gonna wait until someone comes along and says how it runs on an old card like a 570 but I'm just getting excited at the prospect that I might be able to run it.

I wasn't going to buy Fallout 4 at launch but all the negativity caught my attention(which led me to follow the game more) ... and now I'm going to pre-order.

Hm.

Any early info on Xbox One/PS4 performance? On the fence but leaning towards Xbox for the Fallout 3 bonus.

Spanish leaker has PS4 version and has mentioned that performance is very solid, dip every now and then but nothing severe. Loading times in spread of 15 to 60 seconds depending on what you are doing, e.g. entering large building is short and fast travel can take up to 60 seconds.

Their allocated stock has already been pre-ordered:

He had some freezes that lasted upto 1 sec when playing in a zone that had alot of stuff going on, but other than that it has been good according to him.

This shot is quite impressive. Especially since all the foliage would be moving.

Is that confirmed? Cause it looked kind of static in the E3 footage. I love moving foliage.

Definitely not console footage which was released.

However I agree, if that's what the PC version will look like, I'm ok with that.

In what ways is it not comparable? I don't mind it look a bit less crisp, but surely the lighting is there?

Does it make sense to put in your special points all the way when you will get a free special point by finding the bobbleheads?

We don't know if Bobbleheads are still +1 to X SPECIAL, but even there really isn't that much sense to go over 8 or 9 in any SPECIAL because you can use level up to increase SPECIAL. Not going all out on 10's right off the bat gives you more rounded character to begin of the game, if you have multiple SPECIAL trees from where you want perks.

Also is there any negatives from not being very high in INT? Like lack of dialogue options? Or will 4-5 INT be enough?

We know only for sure that there is some Charisma checks in some dialogue, but I'm surprised if they have cut Intellect checks from more scientific dialogue lines. That said Intellect now affect how much XP you gain from actions, so if you want faster leveling and maybe more levels before soft cap makes leveling super slow then consider tad higher Int.

I think right now, we're not sure what speech checks will be like, I usually like high Int characters for Fallout games but seeing as how there aren't any skill points and no level cap, I'm tempted get some more points in something like Luck or Agility
