Borderlands 4 has gone GOLD

I'm down for more Borderlands. The writing in the third game was the worst by far, in a series known for terrible writing that is quite a feat.
But, the core gameplay loop and loot just really scratches an itch for me that few other games can.

So this means the game is completely finished and will not need any updates. Correct? Is that even possible in this day and age?

"Going gold" back in the day meant that the game was done and cartridges were being made or discs were getting pressed.
Nowadays I'm pretty sure devs continue to tweak right up until it drops. Even physical copies usually require launch day updates.

Thats just you I guess. Even Borderlands 3 with its bad story is sitting at 81% on steam even after the review bomb for the EULA changes. A lot of ppl are loving the gameplay. You're a minority I guess.
Oh, no, 81% of the people who went out of their way to buy the third game in the series have a positive view of it! That makes me part of the dreaded minority!

Someone should tell you that's not how this works. I guess that someone'll be me. You're welcome.

Meh, this is unproductive and a waste of time. Yesterday it was catharsis, today it's a drag.

Indeed it is a waste of time when numbers dont lie. So it's positively rated and a sold a shit ton. Any other counter-argument? Yeah. Sleep tight young prince. Fine to say a game is not for you, but don't act as your opinion is universal.

Didn't like anything i've seen about the game, but i haven't played any BL since the 2nd game, and kinda feel like brainlessly grinding. Then i look at the playable characters, and they all look like shit. Why do dis?

In this day and age, it means they reached an arbitrary date beyond which the publisher will cease initial funding, and it's time to squirt the product into the marketplace so that it can begin to accrue revenue.

Heh-heh-heh.

Honestly, I admit to being petty. I have a lot of bias against Gearbox in general, Randy Pitchford in particular, and Borderlands overall, but there was no reason to be so snippy about it. Like I said, I gave in to catharsis, and there was no need to it. I feel I owe you an apology for that.
