Halo 5: Guardians |OT| The Trials of Osiris

i kind of like it when im getting kills on fathom cause people cant find me get the jump on them.

True, but to be honest we would have the same effect with no radar. I'd take no radar over the poor range of the one we have right now. I'm continually glancing at it, only to be quickly reminded how bloody awful it is.

I'd like an increased range to deter people from rushing me at around a corner with SC.

Forge maps counted in the retail number, so there's no reason to expect them not to count in the DLC, lol.

I doubt they would advertise the DLC as being free, "made possible by REQ purchases", if the maps were forge maps. Forge maps with the new forge mode take very little time to make. Josh Holmes has also said most disc maps will have a remix and in the sprint we were made aware of Fathom and Rig remixes. I could see maybe 5-6 of them being forge maps but it would be insanely bad PR for 343 to say these things then release more than a handful forge maps as "free dlc". Every true Halo installment had 11-12 REAL DLC maps. I don't see why it would be any different with Halo 5.

I was just saying, don't be shocked when the Forge BTB maps knock off a large chunk of that post DLC map count, lol.

I mean 343 literally had an entire team of pros help design and tune the game. Are they not the same type of hardcore player you keep saying you speak for?

Baffles me.

He wants Halo 3.5

halo 3.5 > Titan Fall of halo though ;)

I don't see what is wrong with making Halo more like Halo. if I wanted to play a different game I would have picked up COD a long time ago.

I really hate the idea that a game can't remain more true to it self becasue of 'reasons"
If this was the case, splatoon wouldn't exist.

Honestly, I kind of feel like people's issues with the radar are down to the adjustment period. You keep glancing at it out of habit, yeah? And it not having the information you're expecting is grating. But eventually, the habit will fade, and it won't be so bad.

Bro you ain't getting it just let it go. Enjoy Halo for what it is now or move on.

You know it doesn't cost you right....

You just need that specific req level to equip it.

Yes but by that time the games just about over.

I didn't watch the sprint videos. Are most of these "new maps" going to be remixes of current maps?! If so... that's horribly disappointing to me personally.

I think most of us want fresh, new maps that are completely unlike other maps currently in play. IDK... maybe that's just me.

Not sure. All I know of right now is The Rig and Fathom are 100% being remixed.

IDK about most. There's only... what, 3 Arena maps without remixes? So there's those. Without knowing the balance of arena to other, it's tough to say how many others will be remixes, but if they skewed more towards Truth/Regret in terms of visuals (as opposed to Empire/Eden, as much as I love how those two play), I'd be happy.

Halo 3 is way different than Halo. And people in 2007 were pissed about a lot of things

You can't keep making the same game. Halo 3 was already made. I loved it, I played 4500 games of it, straight for 2-3 years. But things changes and general public tastes change - and they need to sell to keep making new ones. People are using to sprint and double jumps now in pretty much everything. At least they really tempered them in H5 (you stop sprinting when shot and you can't recover shields until you stop sprinting - and no double jump, only "climb")

it's 2015. Halo 3 was 8 years ago. You gotta move on.

10 years of glancing in the bottom left hand corner of my screen for intel is a hard habit to break :D

My point is, its range is so poor that it's only going to be utilised in a very small percentage of encounters. I.E- your in a fisty, AR encounter with one other guy around a pillar. We've all been there.

Funny thing is, when it's not there (breakout /swat) I don't look for it.

But you're right, I will adjust in time. Teething.

completely agreed. And I feel like they made it shitty ON PURPOSE to add in the Advanced Radar card. I don't understand it at all.

I pulled off the sickest wall run no scope on Rig last night, then called my Titan down, team had no where to hide, it was glorious.

I think that last line is just silly. You don't need sprint or boosters in 2015 to make a good game. Please tell me why these things are must? It seems so silly honestly.....

It's like saying basketball games need sprint and flying to make them 2015.

It's difficult when Halo CE shipped with 13, Halo 2 launched with 12, and Halo 3 landed with 11... all of those maps were different and designed with specific gametypes etc.

I believe each of those also launched with many more modes as well. If they dont pump out some "truly new" maps soon i could see a dip in the multiplayer population.

I was just having such a good time... but getting bored quick with how Arena matchmaking is currently.

I was never a hardcore Halo MP guy, I usually only played the story and dipped into the MP just to try it out or have some fun with friends, but i really like the MP in Halo 5.

Movement is so smooth and fluent and the gunplay is pretty damn solid if you ask me.

That with the badass sounds and feel of most weapons is <3

I've enjoyed Warzone quite a lot alone, and i can only assume a good team with communication would make that a blast.

All they need to do is 'fix' matchmaking because some games people refuse to die and start teleporting around, other matches people die like flies to everything.

A few more maps in Warzone and a few more for the general playlists as well as burning Orion would be great.

fresh, new maps that are completely unlike other maps currently in play. IDK... maybe that's just me.

I either want completely new maps based on locations from the SP or remakes from fan favourites from halo 1-4..

just remakes from existing maps would be a disappointment. in such a case I would rather pay for new maps instead of the REQ pack stuff

Should have increased the FoV to make up for the small tracker, rather than sticking with 78 degrees. Cleaner feedback in the audio wouldn't hurt either, especially for campaign.

So disappointing. From the overall blandness and sameness of it all to the lackluster story. And fuck them for that cliffhanger ending. So now we have to wait two years for the conclusion? Ugh.

And usually I like going through Halo single player games again on a higher difficulty but I cant see myself touching it again. None of the levels stood out or were much fun. And I think it mostly has to do with the grunts; who are the best enemies taking a backseat to those orange drones things are whatever they are. Fighting them absolutely no fun. And what gives with fighting the same dumb boss so many times?

And Locke...I dunno. He's soldier for sure but I'm not sure he is fit to be a main protagonist. Chief hardly talked for some of the series but somehow Locke who talks more seems less engaging and lacking. And I sort of think they made him too arrogant. He saved Buck twice and called him out on it as if that's not what a comrade of the same unit should do without question. He would have been better served "hunting" chief in a non playable role. And that "hunting" aspect...what a joke. I'm not even sure how or when it transitioned from not being a "hunt" to whatever the story devolved to by the end. Also playing as Chief was a better experience.

Overall, I think the biggest issue with Halo is the fact the people behind it are given strict orders not to stray from the formula, but times have changed. I'm not sure the Halo formula works anymore as this game does not seem up standards as the strict guidelines to how it should look, play and feel I think is holding it back. Yeah, it feels and plays just like Halo...

Wait for meeeeee

Tonight at 10 your time boooooy

Yeah, save me. How we still managed to win this game, sheesh, it's beyond me. :lol We took out most bosses and had 2/3 bases until the enemy took them from us. Instead of flanking and going after the garage or the other armory they just kept hunkered down in the base spawning an ungodly amount of tanks. We only won because we managed to take down the Warden Eternal, even though they were on him with their full team. Absolutely ridiculous. :lol

I'd take an Elite or Forerunner home world MP map for sure. I'd say given the new movement mechanics we will only see spiritual successors now not total remakes any how.

To be fair to 343

Halo 4 was one of he worse SP campaigns I ever played and by far teh worse in the halo series BUT

Halo 5 was turned around quite a bit and while not everything is great an there are some bad sports (bad vehicle physics and questionable visauls) it is a huge improvement over Halo 4's campaign for sure. More open. I'd like to see what they can do with a more continous world like the first halo though, to give it a lot more depth and atmosphere. Too bad about the mp though....

Hoping some of these other issues with campaign can get ironed out to make it really shine.

If all other leagues had sprint and flying in Basketball? Sure, any new league would need it or no one would watch.

I find your statement silly. Halo isn't unique anymore, there are tons of YEARLY shooters. They need to get the people who play those other games to like Halo too as it's been 14 years since Halo CE and new kids don't care much about Halo anymore - COD is the thing these days.

Soon! Just had a meeting about weekend social as a matter of fact.

Wooo!

completely agreed. And I feel like they made it shitty ON PURPOSE to add in the Advanced Radar card. I don't understand it at all.

Nah, they dropped the range because people in the beta (rightfully) complained that it was ridiculously overpowered. 18 meters is a good place, IMO. You shouldn't be looking down at the damn thing regularly anyway.

At this point I never look at it. It's too useless IMO. I feel like 20 or maybe 23 would be more appropriate. What was the range in Beta?

Then halo will continue to have low numbers.

If everything is the same, why do people need halo? What you are saying makes no sense, sorry man. If halo is being like cod those people will just go over to cod don't you think?? Just from the video's alone I didn't even buy halo 4 (and I played halo 3 every day for 3 years)

Halo fans don't play other games, cause they don't like them. They don't play cod, they don't play bf. They play halo an when halo is like those games they also dont play halo. maybe quite a few of them are on destiny though or getting mad at halo 5.
