And then you start to think. The odds of your teammate just cresting that hill on a Ghost and running straight through you, right as you spawned there with a heavy weapon... That's shit you can only get in Halo. I both love it and loathe it, and I wouldn't have it any other way. :lol

Aww, that sucks. I love the Typhon.

I used another Typhon to kill the Warden Eternal and win the game. So all was well.
 
My only gripe is i feel they dont bounce as far. I'll line up a perfect bank-shot and some times i feel after initially making contact with a surface these frag grenades dont go near as far as they did in other Halo titles. No biggie at all, i've just had to adjust. If anything i feel like there are too many damn grenades everywhere and half my deaths are from random explosions and betrayals.

one of the things I wish they would do..half the amount of grenades on the maps lol

Yup. Same here. I'd totally take classic remakes. Im dying for remakes of Wizard, Prisoner and Ivory Tower.

All those maps could be really interesting adapted for clamber and GP, although any remake of Prisoner should really be a remake of Solitary—the CEA remake is a far better map than the original, especially for greater than 2v2.
 
I might feel the opposite coming from CE, where the bounce feels more predictable to me. I just have to adapt to it I guess. Those promethian nades tho...might be slightly OP

It really needs adjusting in some way. I think everyone should spawn with only one. Give BTB and Warzone players 2... but keep arena players set to 1 grenade on spawn with limited pickups on the map.

I'm kinda torn on the Hydra family. Its heavy reliance on smart link + its weak rockets kinda turn me off of it. But when you manage to get the drop on an enemy with it it's very satisfying.
 
I was about to spawn as the final wave in assault became available, so I popped a fusion rod card and solo's the core in 7 shots lol, they had no defense because they were still fighting at the base before the final.
 
The whole every server is based in the US thing is really killing my enjoyment of a top quality game. Can't see myself playing this a couple of weeks from now :/

Oh, you and your team did 99% of the damage to Warden Eternal? How about we let the credit go to the other team with that one Magnum shot.

I actually like that, it adds tension and rewards teamwork and strategy. Get a couple of guys with heavy weapons or vehicles targeting the boss with the rest of the team concentrating on taking out any enemies taking pot shots at the Warden.
 
I really don't get why we can't choose what region we connect to. I would happily wait longer for a match to know it would be a decent ping. Very frustrating
 
If bosses were rewarded based on total damage, a team doing well would just snowball the entire game. It would be unbalanced and miserable.
It already snowballs very often though. Half the time if a team gets around 200 points ahead they will just start spawning in with ONI tanks and Ultra ghosts and spawn camp the enemy team into oblivion. It should just be like Resistance 2s multiplayer and reward points for damage and just give a bonus for whatever team gets the kill.
 
because K/D ratio is the bane of FPS online games. I can't wait for the day that a game decides to just drop that and not let any player see their e-peen score. better yet, in objective based games just get rid of the kill count. who needs it?

because it's all about the immediate satisfaction. We are all playing to shoot others. If we frag a lot of enemy players it feels good. If we die a lot it does not - regardless of the ratio
 
You obviously haven't been reading the glowing reviews and podcasts proclaiming H5 is excellent. But go ahead and play what you like.

No future Halo will sell as much as Halo 3 because in 2007 there was nothing else out when it launched. CoD4 didn't come out until Nov and it wasn't the powerhouse then yet that it is now. These days there is CoD, Battlefield, Halo, now Battlefront, Gears series, etc. Halo was THE GAME back then and now it's one of the games.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Halo has a lot of competition in the fps arena these days. People scrutinize the shit out of Halo 4's numbers but I've never had a hard tine finding a game with randoms, made it all the way to max rank too.
 
Tell me about it, I have been bouncing around between gold, silver and bronze to try and get that cert.

Focus in on Bronze until you stop getting actual permanents. That'll make it more likely that when you get a Cert in the other two, it'll be something worthwhile. Just got the DMR yesterday doing that.

Regarding the radar, I think it's great that now I need to rely more on what I see on the screen than the radar itself. It's the perfect balance between no radar and having radar. Bravo.

Didn't h4 get rid of skill based MM altogether. Perhaps that played a part in how easily you found matches.

Yeah I think if you're a Warzone player who wants to eventually get everything you're probably best off just buying tons of bronzes until you have most or all the unlocks at that level and then working your way up. Selling off all the extra Warthogs, weapons, etc that you get can easily pay for another bronze REQ pack rapidly.

Ocho, my-man... Lockout is good lol don't get me wrong... just not the "greatest map of all time" as most say it is. ;)

Agreed about the radar... spot on perfect now. People actually have to pay attention to what's on the screen and what they hear now.
 
After tons of arena games , ı can definetely say that this game doesn't feel like Halo..It's a solid game and better than H4 crap but ı never get the feeling when ı used to get playing Halo 3/Reach..Wish 343 try to make real Halo games instead of trying to cater sprint/ads etc. fans. This game feels more like Cod/Titanfall hybird than Halo..

I know this is a ridiculous request, but you've frequently said that you represent the discontent of millions of Halo fans, the vast majority of them in fact, and I was wondering if it was at all possible for you to... I dunno... source that? Maybe?

I would share more on mlg (use to be booming with h3) but since most the halo fans are gone and the competitive scene is gone its hard to find people even talking about halo there now...

Also, there are a lot of people that will like halo and a lot of people that won't. I know this, but i do stand firm that if halo was more halo it would be played and liked by more people in actual numbers. I stand by this firmly. 100 percent.


Put some things here for you since you keep asking (really wish you can just go look around) :) but since I care about halo so much and want the series to get back on track I will share some of people's feelings, which I hope you can respect people as indviiduals and not where they come from or what they are. :)

Because the cod babies win again. Cod started getting more and more "movement" things, so the game started to become more vertical. IMO extreme vertically ruins FPSs. When I turn a corner, I don't want to have to check 3 floors.

Now look at H3. Infinite sprint, basically no sprint penalty, a useless radar that will show you if someone is standing directly on top of you [maybe]. Thus, most areas have no defensive qualities.

Then you bring in that every weapon has an ADS. The developers take that as "hey, they can ALL shot long distance now"... and give us maps like Orion. Picture a triangle. With two power position on two of the vertexes. Now visualize yourself spawning in the third vertex. Constantly. With no cover using an AR/Pistol against a sniper, rail gun, DMRs, and BRs. Somehow no one caught that.

Next we have Plaza. This time picture a square. Three easily protected and defended positions where you only have to get your team between two and the enemy will spawn at the other corner. It's balanced at least because a sniper does spawn there every couple minutes or so. So as long as you either make the long haul across the completely open area, or wait it out. You'll be fine"

this is a great topic- and maybe the reason why im not feelin this game- the maps really do suck- limited variety- some of the maps seem like they are "simulation" maps- with walled textures, then just bland grey, yellow, blue platforms- the sight lines are crazy- i agree 100% with everything you guys said- and now i dont feel so bad for my confused feelings of why i already dont care about playing this game...9 maps? ive played 4 warzone matches- and its always on the same map- pretty lame!

The maps aren't poorly designed for the game their in. If these maps were in any other Halo game they would be awful. Most of them are just chaotic messes that have zero control points. Which is fine for the way Halo 5 plays. But not for the way Halo is supposed to play."

I do feel there are a few good points made for sure even if some people are being a bit unfair also. Many good things can also be found around the net about this game, but I'd think that is obvious but it is bad when MLG is dead and other forums are also dead about halo. They've got a much better chance coming back with the current set up than they do without it...

If they get their boss kill stolen, while trying to make a comeback, well, they were losing anyway.

But the team that is ahead will always stay ahead if points awarded are based on damage percentages.
 
343 hired the pros just to act as a camouflage. It's so obvious, because I don't like feature X, and 343 are twisted.

Well, this is your opinion and that is fine. I'm not saying 343 is exactly twisted but I do think they don't really get what makes Halo halo.

I do think MS is pulling the strings a little harder than 343 actually, i think they are trying to hit the cod yearly cycle and want to captre what cod had been doing in sales and player counts.


This is what I think the true issue is to be fair.

Well, I know what you are saying and I don't feel its completely fair .

I do strongly believe a high percentage of halo 1-3 fans don't play the series that much if at all anymore. of course we have no way to prove this but you shouldn't treat me bad over my opinion :)

You don't get to pretend you represent a large group of people and then back out when you can't prove it by saying it's just your opinion. That's not how this works.
 
All of sanghelios in this game is amazing. Just some of the best back to back to back halo missions ever. I want more missions like them.
 
What playlist is everyone in more, slayer or Team Arena? I'd like Arena more if it didn't have Breakout. The gametype is fun but it's so different from everything else because of no shields.
