How would you like to see Nintendo impliment amiibo in games?

Here's my pitch:

Imagine a Kingdom Hearts type game where the player character is your Mii and your two AI companions are two of your Amiibos. The game reads the save data on your console and uses that to create worlds and enemies. For example, if you have a Bayonetta save, you'll fight some monsterous angels, while a Xenoblade Chronicles save tosses in some Mechons. Furthermore, the game that is written in your amiibo's memory effects that characters play style. So if you have a Smash Bros save, the amiibo would rush in and attack enemies on sight and they would have boosted attack, but a Mario Party save would be a little more unpredictable and score easy critical hits, etc.

BONUS QUESTIONS:

  1. Do you want big or small amiibo casts? For example, Xenoblade X. Would you want to have just the main playable characters as amiibo or all of the various characters in the game? Basically, for non crossover games, how many amiibo do you want per game?
  2. How do you feel about non series character support in games? Two examples: Fire Emblem characters in Codename STEAM or everything in Super Mario Maker. I think it would be interesting for Hyrule Warriors 2 to have Amiibo AI Companions as a pseudo co-op and to allow non Zelda characters in (Like Shulk, Marth, Lucina, ect).
  3. What games do you want to have an amiibo line? I think I might do terribad things for a Project X Zone amiibo series. Or Xenoblade.
GIVE ME LYNLEE, FIORA, AND KOS-MOS. Also please buy the Xenosaga IP from Bamco.

I think they would benefit from having some sort of base game like a Skylanders/Disney Infinity type thing with a bunch of the figures included. I'm not sure how plausible that is, but I think if marketed correctly people would buy it.

I like that RPG idea, just, once again, I don't know how plausible...

I just want there to be an Ivan Amiibo, and have it be compatible with everything. If you scan it in Hyrule Warriors 2 you get to play as perfect bald man.

I have no interest in Amiibos that aren't horrible.

Only want it to occasionally be very involved aside from a giant crossover adventure game. More often, I'd like a costume piece based on the amiibo or a random unlock/ materials. It gives more value to the amiibo.

For more involved stuff, perhaps in a new Advance Wars, you can unlock a special mission against Robin if you scan in a Fire Emblem amiibo. Maybe in the new Pokemon, you could get a special mystery gift Pokemon based on their Smash Movesets for scanning their amiibo in.

Update Triforce Heroes to include amiibo support.

Either take the Hyrule Warriors route and give us random rewards, or something unique where we get outfits that are reskins of existing ones, like Sonic gives us a Sonic suit that's a reskin of the Cheetah Suit.

I just got a new 3DS but don't have a Wii U, so I haven't bought any Amiibo yet. Spending 15 bucks on a static little figure doesn't really entice me. I want to try out the built-in NFC on the N3DS tho. Really considering buying the Shovel Knight one if there are some cool ingame benefits.

Also, I want this.

A console pokemon rpg that uses mini pokemon amiibos. You can send over the data & carry them with you and use them at big battle hologram arcades! The future! Yeeeeeaahhhh!!!!

O yeah! You would also be able to physically trade your mini amiibos! There would be an moblie app that lets you scan the data and see all stats/ moves of that pokemon amiibo! A real life pokedex!! Do it Gamefreak! O Yeah!

I want to see them honestly take the formula that is used in the Skylanders series (Action Platformer mixing RPG elements and other gameplay styles) but has a Nintendo spin.

So, maybe they could mix the 3D Zelda style (open world exploration with puzzles to solve) with the 3D Mario formula (Mario 3D World mainly; limted controls = easier to make movesets for the many Amiibo). That way the game can feel fresh while having a base to work with (Skylanders).

It would work with most Amiibo (Super Mario Line, Splatoon Line, A number of the Smash Bros Amiibo) and it will have their data saved on the NFC tech inside the Amiibo base.

They could bundle the game with three Amiibo (Mario, Link, Pikachu) and it would be on the NX Console, NX Handheld and Wii U next holiday.

There are many Mario enemies not in Mario Maker. I'd love to see Amiibo versions of some of those missing enemies that unlock them in the game.
This is the opposite of what they should be doing. That kind of thing should be regular DLC too (at a much, much lower price than the cost of an Amiibo) at the very least.

Content being Amiibo exclusive sucks. Make a Skylanders type game for them and just give bonuses (that can also be purchased separately) in other games.

Nintendo Olympics where amiibo can carry stats to compete in an online world wide competition.

Stop locking content behind them in regular games and just make a Disney Infinity/Skylanders type game for them.

^^^ This and:

1. New stages based off that characters world. (You know content that is clear as day wouldn't be there if it wasn't for Amiibo.)
2. Cosmetics in general
3. Storage information for Smash Bros is compatible in other games. (Your level 50 Mario's power and abilities can be transferred over to some other game and have the same stats. So my Mario Amiibo's stats from Smash are transferred into Fire Emblem as it's own character and stats are adjusted to fit with Fire Emblem's gameplay.)
4. More games using the idea of Nintendo characters coming together to have fun. (Make Mario Kart more like Smash bros with characters across all Nintendo IP's to come together to race.)
5. Ability to use Amiibo in game to use special abilities unique to their character. (Actually a good game idea in general, some new character can use all Nintendo characters powers by using Amiibo.) Sort of like Sony's Brave Fencer Musashi, but Amiibo-ized and made by Nintendo xD.

1) Make a Skylanders/Disney Infinity clone already
2) Make digital amiibo available on the eshop for $10 or so

Their current implementation has been fine. Codename S.T.E.A.M. and Fire Emblem Fates are doing it the best.

A Dedicated and Substantial Amiibo game. Full stop.

The true conceit of Skylanders was that it was your toy that you were playing as. It didn't get popular just because of the toys. Functionally, Amiibo so far are just unlocks for a little extra content.

We need, say, a 3D platformer with Amiibos as playable characters. Or an Animal Crossing style life sim game. Kids seem to love sandbox modes these days, might be enough to just have a sandbox game utilizing Amiibo.

I can only hope they've just been working on it and/or waiting for NX. Otherwise, it actually would be strange they never thought of an Amiibo game despite a core game being the thing all other toys to life games are built around.

I know this makes me a bad gamer, but I'm honestly fine with it staying as what amounts to basically $15 DLC costumes.

Granted the Amiibos has support throughout all games.

So really the more support Amiibo's have on games = The less cost/more value to the Amiibo itself.

I just wish I had a development team behind me I have so many ideas for games using Amiibo. Sadly that's not how the world works.

Share them anyway. You never know who's reading.

then there would be no point to the amiibo.

Did you miss the part where people buy them for the figure aspect despite the quality? Nintendo believes so to. The whole collection thing.

Allowing the content being downloadable for people that don't want it and people that want the figure can still get the figure and the content.

It's not that bad of an idea, imo.

The exact opposite of what they did with Splatoon.

I still have yet to try those challenges.

EDIT: Omg, those Xenoblade dolls. The Olimar one is amazing.

This please.

Some of the stuff they're locking behind Amiibo, like literally entire game modes, were features that the Nintendo of 10 years ago would have just included in the game by default. It makes me wary buying their games going forward if I know the game I'm buying is incomplete if I don't buy associated Amiibo along with it.

They can go crazy with an Amiibo-only game, and nickel and dime people all they want, as long as they keep that out of their existing long-running series.
