Yeah the server that this stream is hosted on isn't that great and starts to lag when lots of people start to watch it. It's been better today than it was yesterday though. He switched to a different server and it ran great but then he got banned from there so he had to go back to the shitty one.

I want to ask gaf on a scale from 1-10 how excited/hyped are you for Fallout 4?:D

For me its probably at 9/10. Skyrim was probably my only 10:D still haven't been this excited for ages.

7- or 8 right now but about and hour or two before relase itll be a 10 lol... i'll try not to get too hyped early on only the last few hours is best otherwise I go insane

Lots of crow will be served next week. Lots of crow.

That's pretty much been the universal impression so far. Man... things are looking better and better for Bethesda here. Screenshots do not give this game justice.

They really don't. There have been some incredible views of the sun coming up or going down when standing on top of some buildings.

nice that its the biggest FO map but still thats really disappointing its not at least the same size as skyrim..:/.. also that fucking ocean is getting more and more on my nerves...its just too much water.. unless we can explode a lot of it...
:/

I am watching this game on PC through a stream. It is ugly. That is all.

Maybe Bethesda should think about making their games celshaded.

Looked different after he trolled. Not sure what settings he's at, and without direct feed, the textures just look meh, as well, even if they were good.

No you're right. Wall and hotplate is an accurate representation of the game. Not live video of the game being played for hours.

He also ignored the fact that the person that said that was referring to how the game was going to run and not the graphics. There was A LOT of people that said the game would be so bugged out it would be unplayable. Not looking that way at all.

I'm not referring to just the graphics. People have gone out of their way to crap on Bethesda for releasing unplayable glitch fest games, and the first impression seems to be that the game is very smooth and polished.

I hope so. I'm expecting standard open world jank stuff, but as long as I don't hit quest ending glitches I'll be satisfied.

Chill yo. I was just showing you the hotplate I'm going to cook my crow on.

I easily spent more than 150 hours in Fallout 3 and never once thought that the map was small and I think if I was to play it now I would still find it pretty big. One thing is for sure, Fallout 4 is much bigger than 3,so that's a big plus already. Thing is, we've gotten used to huge game worlds like in GTA V and Witcher 3 for example. But if I'm honest, as cool as the huge part of the countryside is with the mountains and everything in GTA V, I barely spend time there. Witcher 3 is a different story.

However, if Bethesda has indeed improved the density, added a lot of places to explore, I am OK with this. There definitely were places in Skyrim that were huge open fields and barely anything took place there. With all that said... Never ever with a BGS game did I had the feeling the map was small, it probably will be OK with this one too. It is after all their most ambitious game yet.

Watching also. Do we know what settings he's playing at?

The streamer said it's on ultra.
You can't show graphics settings from in-game. It's our usual Bethesda desktop launcher thing.

I hope so. I'm expecting standard open world jank stuff, but as long as I don't hit quest ending glitches I'll be satisfied.

Judging from the PC stream that has been going on for about a day, I've yet to saw/hear any crash report.
That's a good start.

People are saying the companion app is up on the google play store, yet I can't find it. Intentional?
Just the way the store works, I think.. there are more "popular" apps called Pip-Boy that will show up on searches first. I found it by looking up Fallout Shelter and then linking to the devs other games.

The thing about Skyrim is that there was a lot of empty spaces between places. Even if FO4 map is smaller than Skyrim, it still makes it up for it being densely packed.

Just look at this budget last gen title from those lazy devs trying to scam us out of our money!

Not sure if sarcasm, but that does look rough. Not sure why the guy isn't taking screenshots for people to upload instead of resorting to capturing his stream for him.

Omega spoilers, don't click you've been warned

Basically someone hacked the companion app, so now we have the names of all the companions and their accompanying perks. Pity if any were Chrono Trigger style "secret" companions, but there you have it.

Also included is the fact there's 310 locations or somesuch in total, compare that number to FO3 for example, and a partially complete list of what all the magazines do. As well as some unique perks that are quest rewards, same deal as doing Mara's quest in Skyrim or the Tree one from FO3 whose name I've forgotten. Although they're far less broken than Mara's quest in Skyrim.

Most importantly

We get to play as a Deathclaw we get a pet Deathclaw

Fuck yeah

Time to leave the internet. You've been good to me. See you on the otherside!
