Super "NeoGAF Arcade Stick Thread" II TURBO

Why choose a new name when you can easily confuse people instead...

I suspect they're trying to distance themselves from the Kuro buttons, which have not been met with universal love. Everyone loves the Hayabusa joystick though, so they're making Hayabusa buttons to complement it. Brand synergy.

So what's the purpose of making the button height lower?

The machine translation of that article returned something about "quicker response." I don't know if I buy that on a button. We're talking about fractions of millimeters here if true.

Hey guys, I need a confirmation, I wanted to mod a WWE Brawlstick with Sanwa parts, are those correct?

Joystick: JLF-TP-8YT
Buttons: OBSF-30

I checked them a long time ago so I don't remember if they're correct

Looks right to me. Just make sure the JLF has the 5 pin connector and you're solid.

That's so weird. Wonder why madcatz has dialed back production so much? Hori must be loving it.
Did they ever dial production UP? Every time they release a stick it sells out. I don't think they produce as much as you think. I believe they are a fairly small company.

Every time I needed a madcatz stick for the previous generation (I trade sticks a lot for whatever reason) there seemed to be something in stock. Now it seems if you don't pre-order something you're boned or go to eBay and get to pay close to 2x MSRP.

What's the general consensus on the Japanese-only Sega Saturn Virtua Stick? I found one, boxed, for around $25, but I'm not sure if I should grab it or not. It'd just be a hassle to send back to the states (I don't have room for it in my luggage).

The earlier ones are pretty good. They have a Seimitsu LS-56 stick lever, which is proper arcade-quality. Would cost a lot to ship though. Especially in the box.

Is there any way to tell if it's an earlier model or not? Even if it costs me $40 or so to ship, I reckon I'm still coming out ahead? Unless, of course, the eBay prices are inflated (which is likely).

Does anyone have a solution on getting an xbox one stick to work on windows 10? I thought it would be plug and play like the controller but sadly no.

I have a Hori HRAP Xbox One stick and it works fine... with the exception of trigger buttons not working because MS is stupid (they don't work on any official xbox one sticks on PC). Does it work fine on other PCs? Are you trying to plug it into a USB3 slot? Try USB 2 (should look black inside the slot, not blue like usb3).

Question for you guys. I have two Xbox 360 TE sticks and one TE2 stick for my X1.

Can I get a ChronusMax to use my 360 sticks on X1 and / or on PS4? Or my TE2 X1 stick on PS4?

Or do I need to get a new PS4 stick? Want one for SFV.

Thanks

Thanks for posting this stuff.

Converters are exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for, and I hadn't seen any yet (or really looked into it though). I'll probably try to buy a few of these later. :D

Have you (or anyone) used them and found them to work well?

I have the Brook PS3 to PS4 converter.
Works fine. Haven't noticed any input lag, dropped inputs, etc.
No 8 min time out either

CronusMax will still timeout after 8mins and requires a controller to sync. Also it definitely adds lag and the maker has a shady history with converter devices

I've been following people using the device on SRK techtalk and reception is very positive.

Cronusmax is a shitty device and I wouldn't recommend it, especially for use on ps4.

I've totally been happy with mine. Tons of hours in KI. The timeout on the PS4 is annoying, but it's due to Sony's timed authentication check, and it's manageable if you manually rest the timer. Maybe newer devices found a work-around, though.

It also causes lag and makes inputs drop on whichever side isn't using a cronusmax on xbox 360s. People have said it's burned out USB ports, but I can only comment on the first two things.

It's great if all you want to do is online or solo play. Not so good for anything else.

There are better options now for ps4.

I haven't noticed any lag. It's been great for my Xbox One,and I don't regret getting it. The burnout thing is not really an issue with their current model according to the developer after they redesigned the guts. I do only use it for solo/online play though. But it was a lifesaver for me on the XO at least. I might look into one of those Brooks adapters for the 360 to Xbox One so I don't have to authenticate. I hate that you have to buy a system-specific one, and they're not universal though.

How do they get around the authentication? Are they spoofing a controller ID? I'd be afraid their method is not legit and could get blocked my some system update.

I'm not sure. I think one of the developers posts on SRK and is giving constant updates about compatibility, but I haven't seen how they did it answered.

I agree about needing multiple units, though.

Chun li te is up for pre order in eu and is same price as normal te2s! This makes me think that we arent getting the rivals stick. I hope the ryu sfv are going to get released

Any idea about this?

you people need to just learn to solder, it's a useful skill!

I don't wanna hack more shit into my HSS-0130 though... I've already cut enough holes into its glorious frame. I made a couple of break-out boxes for Genesis support, but doing the same thing with a PS4 pad would be spensive. Are they common ground?

Dunno about the DS4 pad, but the MKX pad and the FC4 pads are
