Oh I also made a SPECIAL Calculator that helps you plan your character. It shows the available perks and derived statistics based on your SPECIAL choices. You can also save or share your build with a simple link. More features are planned for the calculator. Also works best on a none mobile device. Mouse over perk names for details.

Very nice! Here's my setup: http://www.nukahub.com/tools/special?s=1&p=8&e=1&c=2&i=6&a=7&l=3

S 1
P 8
E 1
C 2
I 6
A 7
L 3

My stealthy sniper hacker thief will be unstoppable.

I never played a Fallout game. If I understand correctly I cannot be good at everything and only spend Special points, I need to specialize in something and spend Perk points. How the hell am I supposed to know in advance what I should spend in to not screw up my build? Unless I can rescpec later...

Seems like the perfect starting setup for my playstyle, gets me early in the door for advanced weapon mods and allows me to sneak/hack past difficult encounters.

Strength 4
Perception 3
Endurance 3
Charisma 3
Intelligence 6
Agility 6
Luck 3

Hi-tech mods are for energy weapons only. If you don't plan on using them, grabbing the perk is rather useless.

It's a AAA Bethesda game targeted towards general audiences. No matter what you do, you're probably going to get through the game fine.

You just decide what things look interesting or fit the character you have in mind. You really don't need to worry about a build.

It is difficult to know in advance. Look at the perks, decide which ones you absolutely must have and spec your character after that imo. Do a balanced build if you are unsure. Remember that +1 to all stats is guaranteed if you find all bobbleheads. There will probably be additional stat boosts related to quests, but we don't know much about that. Conversation requirements is an additional layer that we don't know much about yet, but if Fallout 3 is anything to go by, there won't be an abundance of important stat checks in conversations (On the other hand, New Vegas had a lot of stat checks, but that is the Obsidian RP nerd factor)

Thanks for the tips. I just hate it when I miss something, loot or exp because I don't have a +1 in a specific stat.

There are some choices which will mean missing stuff. You need certain perks/SPECIAL attributes to say, unlock certain doors/terminals, or use higher levels of mods on gear. But all of that just means each playthrough can be different (unless you try to do everything in one playthrough, which is theoretically possible without a hard level cap).

Guys should I buy this to complete my Fallout 4 mouse and headphone?

Updated a ton of stuff on my Fallout site tonight. In terms of spoilers I don't have any quest story line stuff up yet. But I do have every image for the quests including name. So if you aren't interested in spoilers, don't check it out. Will be updating a ton more in the coming days.

So if you want to see spoilers check the following links for every quest, every perk, every companion perk, etc. Haven't seen these images anywhere else online. So hopefully someone finds them cool. Oh also the main quests and faction quests are listed in the proper order of completion.

QUEST NAME, IMAGES, ETC SPOILERS

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread it's time to make a spoiler thread? I can go ahead and do that unless someone else wants too.

Thanks for the SPECIAL tool. I'm going to play Fallout for the first time and I don't even know about all this. I'm sure it'll make the game more enjoyable not knowing a lot but the character customization part seems to be too important so trying a few settings here won't spoil me too much I guess.

They're expecting bad reviews because of dialogue, simple as that.

Witcher and MGS opened up reviews early af because they knew it would help launch their game since it was bulletproof on the review front. AC Unity and Fallout... haven't.

Also the release date is the 9th at 5AM PST, which is when the game unlocks in New Zealand more or less

I don't think Bethesda has to worry about that.

Definitely look up SPECIAL and Perks, that creator tool is awesome for that. Choosing SPECIAL that gives you perks that you want is imo very important, and apparently FO4 forces you to choose SPECIAL without telling you Perks. That is some bullshit character creation.

Awesome, thanks for easy to use builder, my current "jack of all trades, master of none" build:

Hacker and locksmith is must have for me, with enhanced gunplay I wont be using VATS all the time like in F3/NV, so thats why went with low Agility, high Charisma, Inteligence and Luck all the way for me.

I think im going with:

Strength 1
Perception 8
Endurance 1
Charisma 6
Intelligence 4
Agility 7
Luck 1

Gotta have those Locksmith and Hacker perks plus I think I'm going sniper ninja so gotta have perception and agility and I also wanna be able to pass charisma checks.

MGS? The game where most reviewers were forced into a 4 day boot camp where they wouldn't get enough time to experience the complete shit show that is chapter 2? That mgs? That's the game you're using in this comparison?

High perception doesn't seem to offer great stuff apart from Penetration, imo.

Better Criticals + Critical Banker seems a way better investment. :p Combine that with Ninja for exploding heads.

Finally decided. I tried to find perks that seems to be the ones that may match my play style more.

Strength 2
Perception 5
Endurance 5
Charisma 6
Intelligence 4
Agility 5
Luck 1

Yay ^^

I hope I'll like it. It's just such a good feeling to start something completely new for you... and even more nice when you know you'll discover a praised franchise.

When is the OT? I'm sure it'll be very useful for me and all the newcomers in Fallout which are quite numerous if I'm looking at this thread.

I was doing perception for Sniper n penetrator perks. Which is better? Sniper/Penetrator or Better Crits/Crit Banker?

That was sick, they should have just sent the copies out 7 days earlier and let them enjoy it in comfort.

On a scale from zero to skyrim how is the ps4 version performing so far?

In highly dense areas with lot of stuff going on there can be frame rate issues like mini freezes upto 1 sec and stuttering. But other than that it seems good.

Either way...not much to do besides wait for DF's article on performance.

Late Sunday or early Monday, I think. Rule is that OT can go up 24h before release of the game, and a lots of PC players will use VPN to unlock at New Zealand time.

Does anyone know if armour modding only applies to power armour?

afaik all armor can be modded and upgraded.
